New thread because the last one was giving me "Sorry, this thread is too big to accept new messages".
Onilly - sorry, yes I am sure it's due date - see here - "the Regulations apply to women expecting their babies on or after 1 April 2007.... If an employee's 'expected week of child-birth' falls before 1 April 2007 the old rules will apply."

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
evilanniedividedin2byalargeaxe · 17/10/2006 14:51

No, as I will have 5.5 months of "is it here yet?" "is the baby here today?" etc etc!!

divastrop · 17/10/2006 14:53

i got all that with ds and dd2...i think the novelty has worn off now when it comes to babies cos ds and dd1 dont seem to be bothered this time.

leoghostlygaela · 17/10/2006 14:59

I'm not sure how you tell a 20 month old so he would understand. Need to prepare him somehow though.

I always remember my mum coming home from hosital with my youngest sister. Dad picked us up from school/nursery (which was always a bit special) and we ran upstairs to see mum in bed with the baby. I was the 4th of 6 and she was the 6th, I think when there are already loads of kids its just something exciting, but can imagine and spoilt pampered single child (like my ds !) will have trouble adjusting.

foxinbubblesletsmaketrouble · 17/10/2006 17:08

Leo - our DS went all quiet for weeks after DD came home from hospital. After the initial remark of "Daddy look, that baby's eating Mummy's boobie!" he kind of went into shock, but was fine they're partners in crime now

Evil annie - you poor thing. Pupp sunds like a nightmare

Leo - are you keeping the gender a secret then ?

Aime - why would someone stick a peice of card to your car? If it was a Dr Who card it was probably my son !!

DS got to feel my bump yesterday and felt the baby kicking, which he was really chuffed about. I've had so many scans and hospital visits they both know a little brother/sister is on the way. I just keep teling them "it won't come until after Christmas"...

Kitty - both you and my Mum appeared in my weired succession of dreams last night. You had waist length henna'd hair and three children with red curly hair, just saw you walking alond with them.

My Mum was being really annoying and had a pet tiger cub . No doubt that has some obscure Freudian meaning! I also had a horrible green insect monsterfo atacking my head - think it symbolised my green credit card

divastrop · 17/10/2006 17:18

i just remembered the dream i had the night before last..a load of us from here went out clubbing(hahahahaha)and then it was really horrible,we witnessed a woman getting attacked and the bloke who did it was threatening us all saying bad things would happen if we went to the police
the next day we were all going to meet in a theatre coffee shop, but only kitty and i turned up cos we were the only ones prepared to go to the coppers

i am really going to have to stay away from the relationship threads...

leo-ds2 was 2.5 when i had dd2 and i kept telling him throughout the pg that there was a baby in my tummy.he used to lift my top up and say'hello baby'.i also showed him the scan pictures and told him that was the baby.when she was born he just accepted that she had come from my tummy.

foxinbubblesletsmaketrouble · 17/10/2006 17:31

Diva - I think that just about proves that you and Kitty are the brave ones around here!

DD keeps peering into my tummy button and squealing, "but I can't see the toes!"

If we are dreaming about MN, do you think that's a sign its taking over our lives?

(runs away in terror..)

zombiebridepenny · 17/10/2006 17:36

My Nephew has been hassling me to have baby for ages because according to him he doesn't have enough cousins (only 2) He's pleased its a boy though.

kittythescarygoblin · 17/10/2006 17:42

fox and diva, have you two been taking illicit substances?

I have come off the other thread now and feel like I'm a snorting bull. I'm going to stamp around a bit and clip the kids round the ear and come back after dinner!!

TheBlonde · 17/10/2006 18:22

Dreaming of MN is a bad sign!!!

Random survey - are you going to any antenatal classes?

kittythescarygoblin · 17/10/2006 18:50

went the ist time, haven't been to any since. i think they are a really good thing for ist timers , i have still good friends from those classes and we have provided a huge amount of support for each other.

i've stopped snorting now btw

RabidZombieAmie · 17/10/2006 19:06

I think I will be, yeah. Just got to find out about local ones.

divastrop · 17/10/2006 19:33

i went to ante natal classes the first time.it was very useful.

kitty-ive only been taking prozac
i also came away from a thread snorting just now, having come to the conclusion that all men arent b**ds after all, theres just alot of naive, needy women out there

kittythescarygoblin · 17/10/2006 19:34

Oh yes there are indeed diva, which thread is it?

divastrop · 17/10/2006 20:38

this one at the mo,but there seem to be lots similar!it was 'am so hurt' at the weekend.

foxinbubblesletsmaketrouble · 17/10/2006 20:42

TheBlonde - I went to them the first time, not the second, but may go to one or two refresher classes (birthing, breathing and breastfeeding). I found them useful.

Also did ante natal yoga which was fab (the only time fatfox excercises ).

The local NHS post natal classes were great and made a few chums there who we're still in touch with.

Didn't do NCT classes though as consider them a rip off.

On another subject, did you know Vanilla Hagen Daz icecream is nearly as good for heartburn as Gaviscon?

...reaches for the magic mushrooms....Diva - get me offa that faith school thread - pleeeeeeeeeeeze

kittythescarygoblin · 17/10/2006 20:46

fox are you fighting again, i'm coming..........

foxinbubblesletsmaketrouble · 17/10/2006 20:47

Diva - that poor woman - he's obviously cheated on her hasn't he?!

TheBlonde · 17/10/2006 20:47

I went to NCT classes first time round but wished I'd gone to the NHS ones too (simply to meet more people)

I have booked for NCT refresher classes and hypnobirthing this time
Took DH to a yoga birthing workshop last time - he wasn't impressed as the lunch was veggie

foxinbubblesletsmaketrouble · 17/10/2006 20:47

Kitty - not fighting yet, more kind of hopping around on the sidelines so far

kittythescarygoblin · 17/10/2006 21:09

Fox, i've just seen the second new poster leave MN in disgust at the way they were treated by certain memebrs. Surprise, surprise it was the SAME group of people.
It's so,so sad that these twats are allowed to get away with this behaviour and I wish people could be a little more tenacious. The site needs more people who are prpared to say what they think. after a couple of threads i know who the maurading sharks are and i take no notice, but at first it is a real shock to think that people will behave like that under the cover of anonimity.
Look i'm snorting again now, boo

foxinbubblesletsmaketrouble · 17/10/2006 21:14

Kitty - which thread was that on?

I have a cunning plan that one day a gang of us from here should gang up on one or two of the bullies and just disagree with whatever they say and let them know how horrible it is to be picked on when actually you're just trying to join in a chat/discussion. (sniggers very childishly ) Doesn't matter what the subject is....

There's a couple of heavyweight bullies on here I avoid getting embroiled with at all costs and it means I avoid some debates because I see their names there - and that really annoys me

SamhainWitch · 17/10/2006 21:18

kitty - please do not refer to fellow members of MN as twats no matter what you think of them or their posts.

kittythescarygoblin · 17/10/2006 22:13

oh, are you expecting a baby in March? Or are you stalking me? i've never been stalked before

foxinbubblesletsmaketrouble · 17/10/2006 22:15

Kitty - either she's suddenly got PG or she fancies you

Piffle · 17/10/2006 22:24

oh FGS!!!!!!!!!
Bullies Bollocks
Kitty has been as argumentative as anyone on that thread and not just in order to sock it to the "clique"
Emotive thread - diverse and widely differing opinions. Most of it argued without insult.
I'd love to know who the bullies are...
