Tiny, I've just sent you a pm for adding me onto the FB group,

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 18/12/2014 11:54

almost finished just the train track to tidy up, ive brushed up as much as I can so will suggest they carry the hoover up for me to finish it next week, mind you it will probably be a tip again by monday.

I was wondering if anyone had heard from little too, I havent seen her on any threads so dont think shes been online.

I dont envy you london part of me thinks that bed rest sounds lovely but I know id be climbing the walls within 24 hours.

LondonSuperTrooper · 18/12/2014 12:19

Ok, I think that I've got a bump now :)

LondonSuperTrooper · 18/12/2014 12:20

I'm 21+4

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 18/12/2014 13:59

a very nice bump it is to Xmas Grin

have one very tidy playroom apart from it needing hoovered and have tidied my youngest charges bedroom. ive just wrote my letter requesting mat leave and left it on the desk.

ive requested annual leave the week of the 9th then mat leave to start from the 16th. I think I seriously need to consider looking for another job once beany is here Sad hopefully they will allow the annual leave so I will only have 6 weeks left at work (not including the week off at christmas).

Im 26+4 getting scarily close to the third trimester.

LondonSuperTrooper · 18/12/2014 14:36

Thanks Smiling :)

Well done on tidying up and writing your leave letter to your employers. I think that you are being sensible in wanting to look for another job. There's no harm in checking out what's available. And congratulations on making it to 26+4, 3 more days till you reach the epic 3rd trimester!!!!

I'm hoping to carry on working till I'm 38 weeks. DH wants me to stop working at 35 weeks. Need to think about it over the holidays as my MATB1 form needs to be handed in straight after the new year.

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 18/12/2014 14:49

I was hoping to make it to 37 weeks but the fact my bosses arent willing to make any allowances now worries me, what will they be expecting me to do at almost full term?

Ive come to the conclusion that I have to think about me and my baby so earlier maternity leave is the only way I can guarantee being able to take it easy.

TinyTear · 18/12/2014 15:12

Yep. Your health and the baby is your priority

Hi Ladies, sorry I've not been around. Glad everyone seems ok, though fingers crossed for Little.

smiling it sounds really awkward, you're right, have to think about you & baby so maybe stopping early's the only way to ease up. Imagine an explicit conversation with them might help or might just make it more awkward for your last few weeks. Hope you're treated a bit more considerately now. Perhaps lugging the hoover themselves will make them realise how hard you have been working in your condition!

London sorry about your earlier bleed but glad things seem to've settled down albeit stuck in bed. Is a nice bump! Neat. I'm starting to look more pg - particularly today! Told a couple more close colleagues this week, they'd not noticed. But hope to get past xmas unnoticed faded today - had to 'retire' trousers when felt the zip creeping down, thankfully deliberately worn a long top! Still ok with most old clothes - well size 12 elasticated waists ok, Austin Reed 14s generous but size 16 jeans only just do-able! But failed to find any maternity trousers/jeans on Sat - nothing in my Next or M&S. H&M seemingly the only place with maternity stock :(

I'm ok though, happier since started feeling things from 20+5, next appointment not till 8 Jan mw though. Told parents & in-laws last week. Plucked up courage to call couple of other rels tonight who won't be positive but annoyingly no answer. Work manic though, major project running over xmas - could do with not taking time off, but as DH has to, feel should take together. Also had no leave since June, at this rate might have to add 20 days holiday to the start of my maternity leave! Would prefer to go away but mw is cautious due to low placenta/risk of bleed. No idea when to start leave - or what to do re shared parental leave, employers don't seem to have a clue either. Have to say 1st wk in Jan though?!

Still, 22+4: 5 months tomorrow :) (Sure - though London I thought you were the same as me, did you mean 22)?!

TinyTear · 19/12/2014 11:46

Really nice bump London!
Mine is visible but still too much flab...

I am feeling a bit more relieved... with MCs, counselling and then being high risk pregnancy, I felt I haven't been working to my usual standards...
but just had my performance review today and while I marked myself as satisfactory, my boss marked me as Good
hooray!

Toucan - good luck with passing on your good news to your relatives. 20days holiday before maternity leave sounds blissful.
I'm definitely 21+5 today. When's your EDD? Mine is 26 April, and I'm being induced on that date.

Tiny, congratulations on your annual review! It's always fab when you exceed your own expectations :)

Thanks for the nice bump comments. I have only told a handful people. My motto is that if someone asks me then I will tell them. Otherwise I'm finding it awkward sharing my news.

I'm shattered at the moment. I keep waking up around 3am or so feeling very hungry. Needless to day I've been having 2 breakfasts for the past week or so..... I'm so not looking forward to getting weighed by my midwife! I actually eat better when I'm working. Due to boredom, I'm eating so much junk food at the moment :(

LondonSuperTrooper · 19/12/2014 12:04

How are you doing Smiling?

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 19/12/2014 15:40

Im ok, I dont work Fridays so had a nice lie in then had counselling this morning. Im absolutely exhausted though im sitting waiting for DP to have physio and I could fall asleep.

Im still really upset about work and am glad ive decided to take early mat leave im just hoping they agree the annual leave the week before so I can finish even earlier. I'm also going to insist they write a risk assessment which hasnt been done. Having spoken to the counsellor ive come to the conclusion that what they mean by I havent been as proactive, is actually I havent been doing the extra things that arent my job but I usually do.

weve decorated the babys room today Grin how positive is that?

26+5

chiliplant · 20/12/2014 12:52

Hi glad you're feeling ok. When are u planning on taking your mat leave? I'm taking mine 20th Jan! Due April 11th. I'm in a similar position t you though and I'm sick of stressing about work!x

TinyTear · 20/12/2014 13:38

V day!

LondonSuperTrooper · 20/12/2014 15:11

Smiling, glad that you had a relaxing Friday ?? And I can't believe that you've decorated your nursery already! Well done you. Have you bought all the baby's bits and pieces that you need?

Congratulations Tiny, what an amazing milestone.

Somehow I think that by January my sons entire school will know that I'm pregnant. My DH felt the need to share the news with my son's football team!!!

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 20/12/2014 15:12

YAYYYYYYYY for V day Tiny x

chili mat leave will start 16th Feb and hopefully ill be allowed annual leave the week of the 9th. Beanie due 23rd of March. Im sorry your in a similar position, stressing about work is definitely making being pregnant harder, if I could afford to id take Mat leave from the 7th of Jan which is when it can legally start.

26+6

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 20/12/2014 15:24

Sorry London cross post with you

at least you wont have to worry about telling everybody Grin

I think we are basically done with buying stuff, we were given a pushchair and moses basket, my mum bought the cot, mil bought a bouncy chair, we got the steriliser when aldi had them on offer and the monitor when mother care had 50% off the one I wanted (with sensor pad) and have bought the odd thing here and there.

My counsellor told me at 20ish weeks that starting to prepare would be good for me, and she was right, preparing has helped with my anxiety over buying stuff jinxing it.

the first time I bought something I got in a real state because I was convinced something would go wrong, now I can buy things and not panic.

decorating the nursery was a huge step though, it now feels very real that I will be having a baby (see positivity im working on it)

LondonSuperTrooper · 20/12/2014 16:41

Unfortunately I'm still at the stage where I'm too scared to buy anything in case I jinx the entire pregnancy!
Traditionally in my culture we tend to start buying baby stuff around the 7 months mark. I did that with DS and if I make it that far with Bunny, then I'll do the same. I have to more or less start from scratch with buying everything all over again as I've given most of my DS's stuff away Xmas Angry

LondonSuperTrooper · 20/12/2014 16:43

Chilli, my last working day will be 11 April & I'm due on 26 April. I may bring my maternity leave by a week or two - I'm still undecided.

StuntNun · 20/12/2014 21:44

The only thing I have bought for the baby is a selection of slings. I think I'm trying to put off the shopping. The co-sleeper cot will be the biggest thing to get as I'm hoping to get a second-hand pushchair.

TinyTear · 21/12/2014 07:22

Only thing I have bought has been maternity clothes for me

OP posts:
LondonSuperTrooper · 21/12/2014 08:40

I've also had to buy some maternity clothes.

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 21/12/2014 08:45

TinyTear · 21/12/2014 09:42
