Sleep has been terrible for me too. Wake up at least twice for a wee.. Tossing and turning...

Tanny is on my FB so she can reach me or DH through there if we need... But I am lucky my wards have reception, just the consultant appointment waiting rooms are a black hole...

Yes - that is a good idea tiny. I have a group from my 1st mc and we have often used text so someone else can update. Although DPs have also been known to give updates whilst people have been in labour which has been quite funny Grin.

Little went into hospital on Tuesday didn't she, so I assume they kept her in. I hope she is hanging on in there.

Shetland it is funny how when your kids sleep longer than normal, instead of enjoying the peace you end up worrying there is something wrong. I have a webcam on dd and will often stare at it when she has a lie in to check she is still alive and have been known to go in and wake her to check she is ok.

TinyTear · 11/12/2014 08:30

LOL LIG, yes the "is she breathing" poke that leads to Wahhh wahhh wahhh
Grin

Now mine is nearly 3 I still do have the monitor (not video) but only go there when it's a bad cry or a mummy mummy mummy cry... - she does whimper and moan a bit in her sleep...

Last night she had a bigger cry than a whimper and I went to see her and she was fast asleep... but actually meant i slept better as i knew she wasn't half awake pining for me...

It didn't last long! DD2 was awake again within the hour, and DD1 had a temp of 38 something when I checked on her before I went to bed so I had to give her calpol and then keep checking in her all night. Both are coughing like loons this morning. I knew it was too good to be true!!

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 11/12/2014 10:14

Had a major meltdown at school this morning Blush

they have a new rule this year for the school play that only 2 tickets are issued per family, which meant I couldnt go as obviously mum and dad wanted too. I had to pop into the office at drop off this morning and the receptionist asked if I was going in to see the nativity, cue major strop from me and a rant about the stupid new rule being unfair, ive never missed a play, assembly or award assembly since the eldest started! Headmaster over heard and said of course I could watch as im in so often im practically staff.

So I have just watched youngest charge in his play and apologised to the lovely receptionist, who just laughed and said "your allowed to be a bit crazy, your pregnant" glad she found it funny but im mortified Blush

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 11/12/2014 10:15

I dont know what came over me im not usually like that

TinyTear · 11/12/2014 10:37

oh well, at least you got to watch the play!

Little I hope that you & baby are hanging in there.

Just had my meeting with HR

Mat Leave starting on the 16th March.

Can't bloody wait!

Babiecakes hope all is ok with your DS, how did it happen?
So sorry about your DP's grandfather.

I also don't think my Grandmother will last, not even sure she will last till Christmas. In a way I hope so as I am going there to see her (different countries) but she has been in a bad way so it would be a relief to see her at peace (but can't say that to my mum... my sister does know in that situation I would want to just be let go...)

Apologies for the downer...

Oh dear!! they will name a hospital bench after your DS!

good news on v-day... I am 22+6 so have one week to get there...

I am trying to be pragmatic... My gran is 96 years old, she had quite a good run and has been a shadow of herself in the last year... deep down i think some closure will be the best thing for her...

I lost my wonderful Grandma a month after DS2 was born. She was 98, and had had a wonderful life, full of love. She missed my Grandpa so much after he died, but was on her own for the last 22 years. I miss her every day, but do know it was the right time for her to go. She is still loved.

Having a weird week here too, but my MW visit yesterday went amazingly well, so trying to focus on that just now.

Am now getting a bit concerned about Little. Really, really hope she's alright and just without signal...

Well done for reaching V day! That's another milestone, a big mahoosive one, out of the way!

TinyTear · 12/12/2014 15:16

Yes, at least I know my Gran met my DD a few times. My Granddad died also close to 20 years ago...

I hope Little is ok too... she hasn't posted at all on MN (I snooped) so hope she is just 'hanging like a bat' as she told us and is ok...
We should have instructed her to tell her DH to keep us posted!

Babycakes - sorry you had bad news. People can often hang on a bit just to get through to an important date so there is always hope. Sounds like it has been a traumatic week- hope ds is ok. Sounds like something dd would do - did think at one point we would get a loyalty card for a&e.

Tiny - wow a date to work to. How exciting! I collected my mat1b today and have drafted a letter about mat leave and it all seems quite scarily real. Last time, I left it till the last minute but this time my 24/25 weeks will be over Xmas so got to do it earlier. I am still happily ticking off the weeks not really thinking about a baby at the end of it.

Smiling -sounds like you rant got you what you want. I am much more abrupt and demanding when pregnant but actually I was on fire when working during my last pregnancy and probably would have progressed more than I have career wise if I was like that all the time. My boss thinks it is the result of a assertiveness course I did when 8 weeks pregnant but I think it is just pregnancy hormones.

Shetland - hope your dd's are feeling better.

Little - I hope you are ok and just 'hanging'Â in the hospital.

Had a tough day with dd. Couldn't work out if she was ill or just bad behaved. In the end I just figured out she was badly behaved today. At the moment, the thought of two sounds like a nightmare!

Shetland · 12/12/2014 22:58

Thanks LIG - they seem to have perked up a lot, and no one got me out of bed last night which was a bonus.
I got my mat b today too - just waiting for some exam results and then I can get my forms in and have a mat leave date to work towards too - fingers crossed I've passed and then I can leave at 37 weeks instead of 38.

babie sounds like you've had a tough week. Hope DS is ok, and sorry for your bad news Flowers

Sorry smiling but your rant made me smile :) At least it was an effective rant!

lila35 · 13/12/2014 07:52

Hope to hear some good news from Little soon.

Rubbish that some of us have had a tough week with some bad news.

I've just had my head down and working this week. One more week and then I'm off for christmas, I cannot wait! My back has been sore every day and now i've been getting leg cramps, its a joy!!

Hope everyone has a good weekend x

24+1!!

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 13/12/2014 08:07

Im glad I made you all smile Grin

so sorry some of you have had bad news this week Sad

I got my mat b on wednesday, I need to write my letter regarding mat leave although we have already discussed it so my bosses have started looking for temp cover for me while im off.

LondonSuperTrooper · 13/12/2014 10:04

Sorry for all the bad news.

I had a major scare on Thursday. I had a bleed at work and had to go to the maternity ward for a check up. Luckily we heard the baby's heartbeat & my cervix was closed. I was in bits though and am currently on bed rest.

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 13/12/2014 13:10

Oh london that must have been so frightening, im glad little one is hanging in there, make your DH wait on you hand and foot whilst you stay on bedrest. Sending lots of hugs and Flowers

LIG1979 · 13/12/2014 13:26

London - very frightening but glad all is well. Hope you are managing to enjoy the bed rest. (Maybe little can give you some pointers on how to make the best of it?)

Shetland · 13/12/2014 14:57

Glad you're ok london How scary xx

lila35 · 13/12/2014 17:29

How long have you got to rest up London? Don't get yourself up and about to soon. What a worry.

TinyTear · 13/12/2014 17:47

Scary. Rest as much as you can London

My turn to have a bit of a scare, ive got a pain in my side, started off as a stitch like feeling and is now really quite painful.

Ive spoken to the midwife who said to take some paracetamol and have a bath, if that doesnt ease it ive got to ring back.

so im running a bath and then will be going to bed and see how it goes.

Thankfully there's no bleeding and the baby is moving although not as much as normal.
