How scary for both of you!

London, how are you now?

Smiling, I hope the paracetamol and bath have helped...

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 13/12/2014 20:13

Ive still got the pain, have felt baby kick a couple of times since getting out of the bath but think ill call the midwife as im getting myself into a real panic

tannyLoo · 13/12/2014 20:35

Yes, my midwives have been wonderful when I've had a scare, and they would always prefer you phone than suffer.

Good luck, I'm sure it'll be fine, but of course I'm not the one you need to hear it from x

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 13/12/2014 21:13

Since I havent got any bleeding and beany is moving shes not overly concerned but said I could go in if I wanted to. Weve decided to see if after a few hours rest it goes and as long as the baby keeps moving we will reassess in the morning.

TinyTear · 14/12/2014 07:25

Hope you had a good night smiling.

Ifelt a kick from the outside for the first time just now. Next time might see if DH can feel it...

How you doing today smiling? did you go to hospital?

how are you little? so hoping that everything is ok in hospital.

Tiny - how exciting. Our kicks are getting stronger and I have had a couple I think dh would feel but at the moment not often enough to warrant him keeping his hand there. Although the little guy often moves alot when dd has meltdowns so that could be a good time. (Mil thought a chocolate advent calendar was a good idea for a picky eating 2 year old! Angry )

Remember drinking ice cold water is a good way to get baby moving if you're worried but if you think something is wrong then follow your instinct and get checked out.

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 14/12/2014 08:59

Managed to get some sleep, the pain seems to have eased and beany is back to being really active so ill keep monitoring throughout the day and if the pain comes back ill go in and get checked.

I will be calling my midwife tomorrow and making an appointment to get checked anyway but I feel like id be wasting the hospitals time if I went in now.

26 weeks today

Shetland · 14/12/2014 09:00

I had to drink an ice cold coke last night (poor me!) to get her moving as I was worried i hadn't felt her all day - worked a treat. I'm also starting to feel proper kicks now but not many of them - really not a fan of anterior placentas.

Sorry top paragraph should have said I managed to get some sleep, the pain has eased AND ive spoken to the midwife this morning and she has advised me to monitor and call back if im worried about anything.

Shetland · 14/12/2014 09:02

Cross post smiling Glad you're ok. Midwife seems like a good idea - no harm in having a check up.

tannyLoo · 14/12/2014 09:12

Glad things have settled a bit smiling, and you got some sleep.

I had a weird one last night. Had some sex after a bit of a drought and then had strong braxton hicks only about 3 mins apart for the next hour. I knew they were BH, but at one point started to get a bit concerned that they were getting painful with backache and period pains...

Anyway, everything is back to normal this morning, and I'm getting my regular irregular BH and plenty of movement, so no harm done. I think I might speak to the MW though, just in case. I really don't fancy a drought THAT long, but I really don't want early baby because of my selfish needs either...

Oh the joys!

Weve had sex once since ive been pregnant and I bled afterwards so we decided it just wasnt worth the stress. In all honesty im so knackered im not really interested but I do feel a bit sorry for DP

TinyTear · 14/12/2014 09:24

Let's say I do other things to DH but no sex... Grin

I'm too scared. Probably did it 3 or 4 times since finding out I was pregnant...

Wow, that makes my two weeks without seem a bit weird!

I don't feel at all sexy at the moment, but it makes us feel more connected, otherwise we feel a bit like ships that pass in the night. Might have to think of other options!

I am trying to do it with dh whilst I can, as once I am breastfeeding I really won't want to. I quite enjoy it when we get to it but before I often feel I would rather go to sleep or watch TV.

Smiling - glad you are feeling better.

LondonSuperTrooper · 15/12/2014 07:46

I was told to rest for 3-4 days. By rights I should be back at work today but I have stomach cramps. Rang the midwife & I was told to rest with some painkillers!

I still really can't feel the baby move :(

We haven't had sex since the conception. I was told to avoid DTD till 12-14 weeks of pregnancy. And since then we thought it's better to avoid it altogether. One of the first questions that they asked me at the hospital on Thursday is whether we've DTD.

LondonSuperTrooper · 15/12/2014 07:46

How are feeling Smiling?

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 15/12/2014 09:21

London I dont think resting for longer will do you or baby any harm. The midwife suggested to me the other day to run a warm bath and then while laying in it to run the shower over my bump, it really helped with the pain.

Im ok the pain has gone although I still feel uncomfortable and baby is kicking lots but its really shaken me up I seem to have gone into super careful mode. Im at work but could really do with some time off to just put my feet up and rest.

tannyLoo · 15/12/2014 09:37

Hugs to you both. Rest up and take it easy...

LondonSuperTrooper · 15/12/2014 10:08

Thanks Tanny. I'm definitely back at work tomorrow. The office have rang me twice already! I'm slightly stressed as I'm due my end of probation interview and hoping that this won't impact on my overall performance.

Smiling, can't you cut back on your chores today & just rest up until school pick up?

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 15/12/2014 11:45

Ive got a poorly child at home so not getting any chores done but also not getting any rest, its been a long morning.

ive got today, tomorrow, thursday, saturday and next monday and tuesday at work then im off till the 5th January so not to bad but work is feeling like a chore, I just want to be at home where I can get up when I want, rest, go to bed if I need to and just concentrate on my baby. Saturday really scared me and I cant help thinking its because im overdoing things, even my days off arent restful because im catching up on stuff at home, doing the horses, going to appointments etc, im sure you all know what I mean.

I think im going to ask my bosses for a meeting and tell them I need to cut back, not go in to school so much but that it doesnt mean ill be taking on more stuff at the house.

London getting stressed about work wont be helping you and surely they shouldnt be calling you at home while your off for medical reasons. Am I right in saying time off for pregnancy reasons cant be counted in sick leave?
