Thanks for the update tiny

Congratulations babies Flowers

Brilliant news on babies Baby. Looking forward to hearing the details.

I think my baby turned a bit last night, the biggest moves I've ever felt it was a bit scary and a tad painful. At our scan she had her back towards my left hip and head down, feels like she has now moved to her back being towards my stomach. I'm so glad she realises she needs to 'assume the position' and hopefully won't go back to back.

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 06/03/2015 09:27

My son has a new game, if mummy tries to lie on her left stick your bum out so she has to turn over, when she gets comfortable on her right then stick your foot out when the pain of this brings tears to her eyes and she rolls on to her back stick your knee out till she eventually gives up and gets out of bed when you then go back to sleep Hmm

He's been playing this for the last 3 nights Sad

Shetland · 06/03/2015 09:39

He's gonna be a cheeky one smiling

It's gone very quiet on here! How is every one doing?

I'm studying hard but enjoying not having to go to work. Still full of cold though, which is getting a bit tedious now!

TeaandHobnobs · 06/03/2015 09:41

Ouch smiling! I sleep mainly on my right as when DS comes into our bed (which hadn't been that often lately, but has been 1am for the past couple of nights), if I lie on my left I am exposed to being kicked in the bump. I don't mind being kicked in the back when I'm on my right so much - it is a bit like a massage Grin

Went to a first aid course at DS' nursery last night - it was really good, I'd forgotten a lot of things from the last time I did any first aid training.

39 weeks today! C'mon baby, I'm getting a bit fed up now...

Congrats to babies! How are you doing tanny?

Hope you all have a good Friday Smile

TinyTear · 06/03/2015 09:50

Ah lovely children... they do like to play...

Mine likes to be quiet when DH or DD put their hand on my tummy and have a party if it's just me trying to rest...

TinyTear · 06/03/2015 09:52

I am shattered, can't wait until next wednesday as it is my last day at work.

have been in a bit of a mood... grumpy and with a low fuse... taking it out on DH, poor thing...

34+6 today

TeaandHobnobs · 06/03/2015 09:58

Blush just realised smiling was talking about her son in utero - oops! DD is enjoying bouncing on my bladder when I walk any distance

Hope the cold shifts soon Shetland - I keep coming down with a mild one every couple of weeks. I am just guzzling juice to try and Vit C myself up as much as possible (although that then sets the heartburn off...)

Here's to next Wednesday for you Tiny!

LittleBairn · 06/03/2015 12:13

smiling DD does the same thing, basically she makes it very clear if she doesn't like my position. It was funny the first time but quickly became tiresome.

Tea you can get dissolving Vit c tablets from most supermarkets they are a 1000mg so well above what you can get from juice. I take one each day because its been suggested that it strengthens the amnotic sac.

Shetland · 06/03/2015 14:15

I might have to invest in some vit c - though it's a bit late now I'm full of cold already! Might help stave off a repeat though.

33+1

LittleBairn · 06/03/2015 14:34

shetland its well worth a try I prefer the Sainsburys own brand they taste ok and the are 1/3 of the price and twice the amount of Berroca, plus double the strength.
I've only had one cold (admittedly a bad one) in this entire pregnancy despite being in hospital and coming into contact with a lot of staff who seemed to have colds and my family who seem to be constantly ill.

TinyTear · 07/03/2015 16:12

Just a quickie to say Tanny had a boy!! She will come to do a proper announcement soon...

babies congratulations on the arrival of Sara. It's so lovely to hear she is home already.

Wednesday is my appointment with my consultant to find out when the stitch comes out but the basic gist of it is in about 2-3 weeks we are going to have a baby I can barely believe its really happening after 3 very long years.

Our only baby related issue is if I want the bugaboo Cameleon or Buffalo. I had a sneaky trip out to Mothercare but the sales rep wasn't very well informed and I needed to get back to bed.

LittleBairn · 08/03/2015 14:31

babies I had a similar issue when they were doing my stitch I was in theater a lot longer than expected so the spinal wore off and my stats went crazy so they suddenly gave me a huge amount of something else.
I couldn't imagine having that happen when having a C-section?

How are you recovering?

Shetland · 08/03/2015 16:26

Congratulations babies :) lovely name. Glad all is well xx

littlebairn you've come so far - it must feel very unreal to be so close. Brilliant!

LittleBairn · 08/03/2015 16:36

shetland it feels bit unreal, sort of like that feeling you have just before the first scan where you think maybe its all in your head.
I did get this look Shock from DH today when I said I can't believe we have managed to get here so easily.
He reminded me about all the stress, the surgery, the constant meds, the 5 week hospital stay and the fact that I've barely been out of bed in 5 months.
I'm already looking back with rose tinted specs. Grin

LittleBairn · 08/03/2015 16:36

34 weeks today!

lila35 · 08/03/2015 17:04

Congrats Babies and Tanny!! Enjoy those baby cuddles....I cannot wait for mine!

34 weeks Little, Amazing xxx

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 08/03/2015 17:45

babies enjoy those cuddles, Sarah is a beautiful name Flowers

little 34 weeks is fantastic Grin

I am completely fed up, I really want this baby out, I am huge and walking is difficult now, he's fully engaged and I still keep having contractions which just stop, I've lost my mucus plug (sorry tmi Blush) why won't he just come????

I'm 38 weeks today so technically could have 4 weeks left Sad

LittleBairn · 08/03/2015 18:38

smiling my cousin had lost her mucus plug about a week before she went into labour with her second but the whole time she was contracting too. And she was dilated a but too. She finally got her midwife to agree to a sweep and she managed to break her water too and send her straight into labour.

Would a sweep be possible?

I'm ready too, I just want this pregnancy over and the baby safely delivered. For me the stats are 50% of women go into labour once the stitch is taken out (I imagine its like having a massive sweep) hopefully because I've already shortened I will be one of them. I will be gutted if I'm not.

tannyLoo · 08/03/2015 20:04

Hello, sorry I didn't post sooner! It's all been a bit of a whorl since yesterday morning!

I went into labour yesterday morning at 9am, after a sweep and acupuncture induction on Friday. My contractions were initially 8 minutes apart but within the hour they were 2 mins apart! We got over to the birthing suit and straight into the pool, which was wonderful, and my contractions slowed to 3 mins. I was in there for the rest of the labour, and had my waters broken just before 1pm, and baby Bertie (Bertrum) was born about three minutes later. He weighed 8lb 15.5oz and is amazingly long.

We were home by 7pm, and I'm still wobbly and knackered, but no stiches, which is a first! I have a course of heparin for the next week. Joy of joys.

So relieved to have him here, he is just perfect and actually alive and everything.

I can't wait to hear about everyone else's. Smiling it doesn't sound like you'll be long now...
