Congratulations tanny Love the name! Xx

LIG1979 · 08/03/2015 21:14

Congratulations babycakes and tanny loo. well done on leaving hospital babycakes and tanny loo I am incredibly Envy Envy Envy that you got to leave so quickly. (That was my plan till the gd diagnosis.)

Smiling - my mucous plug went about 9 days before dd was born. I phoned up the mw and they said it didn't mean anything especially as I was 36+4 at the time . This time I have lost bits of it since about 20 weeks but nothing major. Hopefully it isn't too long for you now.

I have been struggling with a sick dd this weekend and it has really broken me. dh has been working overnight so it has just been me. I do sometimes wonder how I will manage with two.

Still finding it odd to think that in 6 weeks time I will have a baby. Got 8 more days left in work Grin but no sign yet of slowing down there.

34+2

LittleBairn · 08/03/2015 21:51

tanny so lovely to hear from you, welcome Bertie.
It sound alike you had a really nice birth experience. I hope I'm allowed to try out the birthing pool.
I might need to do a bit on negotiating on that front but I don't mind being difficult. Grin

Lig sorry for your bad weekend. Hopefully the next so weeks at work will fly in.

I can't believe we are filling up with babies!

LittleBairn · 08/03/2015 21:52

Few weeks. I seem to have lost the ability to type. Blush

TinyTear · 09/03/2015 07:50

LittleBairn · 09/03/2015 13:03

TinyTear · 09/03/2015 13:25

So we will end up with lots of "Marchies" on this thread in the end Grin

Gosh, I'll be the only one giving birth in April then..... And late April at that!!!

Tea, Smiling & Tiny I hope that you are all ready for the baby's arrival Grin

I'm somewhat prepared. I'm ordering the pram, camera, mattress and monitor this week. I've also got my birth plan printed out. I feel more in control now Smile

Shetland · 09/03/2015 15:43

I'm end of April too london I've got weeeeeks yet!

I haven't done anything to prepare - need to get my exam out of the way first. Then it'll be a frenzy of washing and sorting. I only need to buy a new mattress though, I have everything else.
My birth plan says 'have baby' :)

My finger is still twitching over the buy button on eBay whilst idly perusing pushchairs, but so far I've managed to resist!

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 09/03/2015 15:49

I'm ready just need the baby now

LIG1979 · 09/03/2015 21:39

I am hoping to get to April but after that I will be happy to get him out. In my head I am almost thinking of my due date being at 38 weeks and so wasn't hugely worried about them wanting to induce me at 40 weeks because by then in my head I will be 2 weeks over what I planned.

Got a day off tomorrow. Hoping dd isn't sick as she is still coughing lots tonight as i want to do some baby stuff, go for a swim and do some sleeping and have a me day!

LIG1979 · 09/03/2015 21:40

Shetland - like your birth plan! mine was similar have baby and leave hospital as quickly as I can - damn you silly gestational diabetes.

lila35 · 09/03/2015 21:48

I'm April to!!! Can't imagine this little man is coming early!!

Its so loively seeing pics of the babies on fb.

Looks like tomorrow is going to be a sunny day so am planning on washing all the baby bits I can and getting them dry, that and sorting the baby room, its just a dumping ground at the most and needs some order, also I have my 36 week mW app and the health visitor coming round.

And I'm officially on mat leave now so trying to take it a bit easier.

TeaandHobnobs · 09/03/2015 22:18

I scribbled a birth plan last night. Really it is just "ideally x but I will listen to advice". I've requested delayed cord clamping and physiological 3rd stage, if possible. And hoping for a pool birth if things work out that way.

MW appointment tomorrow afternoon, and obstetrician on Thursday where I am planning to refuse induction because of my previous abruption - not sure how that is going to go down... I'm ready for her to come now (39+3), I wish it would just happen!

Congratulations Tanny and Babies!!!! Thanks

EbwyIsUpTheDuff · 10/03/2015 09:51

no point in me writing a birth plan, it basically would say "do exactly what I'm told by the experts" (caesarian)

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 10/03/2015 10:00

My birth plan is basically instructions to the midwives to help them selves to biscuits, tea/coffee, cake and toast, also where they can find anything they might need and that dp's one job whilst I'm in Labour is to keep mil away from me Grin

There's a bit in there about wanting to be active and that ideally I'd like to give birth in my bedroom but the general gist is just to do whatever they need to, to get me and baby through it in one piece.

LittleBairn · 10/03/2015 15:04

My birth plan is basically a list of do nots.
1)Do not touch me or perform any procedure on me without explicit verbal consent from me you do not have presumed consent.
2) I may decline VE I will not be entering into a Discusion about this in labour.
3) I will be having a natural 3rd stage unless its medically neccessary for the placenta to be removed quickly. Be sure to gain verbal consent.
4) Do Not cut the cord, we will be doing delayed clamping and cutting of the cord.
5) please keep the room quiet and peaceful whilst in labour I prefer not to be spoken to or touched unless it essential.

LondonSuperTrooper · 11/03/2015 16:04

I'm also for delaying the clamping of the cord and a natural 3rd stage :)

At my consultant appointment (last week) I was told that Bunny is measuring big but she was average on the scan Confused The consultant wants to me to go a growth scan in 4 weeks time. If Bunny is still feeling/measuring big they might induce me..... on 2 April! Apparently I am a high risk pregnancy due to pre-eclampsia and my high BMI. I'm hating all of this BMI business. It is mentioned at every appointment Sad

smilingthroughgrittedteeth · 11/03/2015 16:36

london I have told my midwife that if I hear the words BMI once more I am putting in a complaint to the pot as I am beginning to feel discriminated against because of my BMI, it seems to of shut them up for now.

I'm also going with delayed cord clamping and natural 3rd stage.

LittleBairn · 11/03/2015 17:01

smiling well done on laying the law down on the BMI front!

I am furious with my hospital. Basically they royally fucked up today my appointment with my lead consultant didn't happen and they appear to have misplaced my notes.

When my DH after an hour of waiting went to enquire what was going on he was told I would be seeing a random registrar and I might need to wait another hour or two.
I made it clear I would not wait any longer I'm suppose to be on bed rest, I'm consultant lead care I expect to see a consultant for such an important meeting and what is the point in seeing a registra who is a stranger to my case when she has none of my bloody notes!

I'm really upset by it all it has ruined all the trust I had in them. I already have worries about the level of care they might provide in labour.
So much so I've contacted a private hospital to see if they will take the stitch out instead. If they will and it is affordable I will get then to take it out and hopefully last till 37 weeks. If I do I am seriously considering a home birth.

They wrote in my take home notes today in capital letter REFUSED to provide urine sample.
I've took pleasure in correcting the notes with the truth, I refused to do a sample then sit in a crowded public waiting room with it on my lap! That the midwife involved had no interest in finding a solution to my problem.

I'm so bloody sick and tried of fighting these people for the most basic of care.
