Welcome, welcome, welcome to the 17th grads thread... celebrating the success of Just Shagging in getting us viroids upduffed!

For those that don't know, a 'viroid' is from the original JSing thread 1, where someone was trying to type ladies (in reference to all the JSing ladies), but their phone decided to call us all viroids instead!

The name stuck and we've been the JSing viroids ever since.

The thread we have graduated from is here in its 33rd outing. WARNING: they're all a bit kerazy not to mention randy!

There is also a Just Mumming thread in postnatal clubs here for once your babies come along, or to keep up with the graduated graduates! It's a bit quiet at the moment, but with all these upduffed viroids hopefully it won't be for long!

There is also a private facebook group (so it doesn't give the game away in your news feed!)... if you want to join to see photos of new babies etc, just ask in-thread!

So, roll call below please, viroids!

Wow I am on a mission to out myself this week! Name change anyone?? Grin

OP posts:
Pisghetti · 11/12/2014 10:51

While we're on a mission to out ourselves.... I'm wondering how to crowbar James into a girl's name without opting for Jamie. I'm thinking of just giving it as a second middle name. Any occasion where her full name is read out (thinking graduation) it'll sound like a double barrel name. I remember DS's dad's graduation where the whole audience gave a unified snigger at his poor friend whose parents had seen fit to give him Zorro as a middle name...

Nessalina · 11/12/2014 11:03

Hello viroids! It's taken me ages to catch up! Nice to see a bit of an influx on FB and put some faces to names Smile

I hope today goes well Min Thanks I'd say see how you feel about the reading as the day goes on, but if you want to then just go for it!

freshstart4us · 11/12/2014 11:21

Thinking of you today min, I would also say do the reading if you feel up to it, the day is going to be a very tough one anyway and honouring your dad as you would like to could make it more something you did rather than something that happened to you. Flowers

DD's initials are "BAM" (middle name Ann after DH's lovely mum) and I do wonder if a Flintstones revival will at any point in her school career earn her the nickname BamBam! We think this one will be either SAM (Samantha Alice) or MAM (Maximilian Alfred) although these choices are still subject to negotiation. I really, REALLY want Juliette Alice for a girl, but DH is having none of it. Xmas Sad

teejayem · 11/12/2014 12:13

Big cuddle for you Min, thinking of you today.

Mr Tee's surname has way, way too many vowels in it, which means that making something sound good in front of it is quite hard. I like short snappy funky names like Jax, Zak and Rex. (My best friend's dad was a fighter pilot called Rex and I think it's an awesome name. Mr T doesn't agree...) :(

We are really struggling with girl's names. I like Autumn and Lyra. We half agree on Izzy (not isobel or Isabella, has to be Izzy)

I am really really struggling with work-preggo rage and currently want to garotte my boss with the telephone cord. Work xmas party on Tuesday night and all the hungover people were allowed to come in late and leave early, and those of us that didn't drink/stay out till 3am were expected to work as usual. Hmm Now she's complaining about being exhausted and soooo busy, which is bollocks, most of her workload is sitting with me. Hmm. I actually wish I'd called in sick in my first trim/left early when I was feeling terrible instead of soldiering on.. She's also found out they won't be replacing me when I go on Mat leave and I think this has caused a bit of ill feeling. sigh. I only have 4 more working days left before I'm off for Xmas, and thank God, because I'd be on the verge of a Michael Douglas falling Down-style meltdown. And the trains have been rubbish.

Rant over!

Pisghetti · 11/12/2014 12:20

Is that because of JAM fresh or is he just not keen on Juliette?

DS mentioned a name as a joke - and I'm quite taken with it... Albeit I think it'll be a bit marmite amongst family/friends to the point where I don't want to ask them about it.

DP joked that if we had a boy we should call it Zeus (amongst some other grandiose names) and DS (who is a bit of a mythology buff) said maybe we should call her Athena then. Initially I laughed it off but I keep coming back to it... Be honest (but kind) is it too reminiscent of poster shops? She's a bit of an all rounder this lass - goddess of wisdom, strategy, war, domestic arts, crafts, art, law, civilisation, maths, courage and strength! It works with the surname, is unusual without being completely unheard of...?

Pisghetti · 11/12/2014 12:23

Sorry Tee I nicknamed my first buzzy friend Rex so couldn't imagine using it now!

Your boss sounds a bit of an arse. Sounds like she'll have a bit of a wake up call when you're not there to do her work for her!

willywallace · 11/12/2014 12:27

Oh Tee, that sounds beyond crap. Hope you manage to get through the day without punching her! So unfair about getting away with being late if you're a drinker too.

Pis, In Scotland it is quite common to give a surname as middle name e.g. mother's maiden name. James is a well known surname so it wouldn't even get blinked at if you gave it to a girl up here. Plus I'm sure there's a female actor called James something.

Lyra is a cool name - feisty. I would never get that past MrWil though. MiniWil has quite a soft, pretty name so if we have another girl would probably need to get something similar in that way.

lildottie · 11/12/2014 12:27

those of you fighting dh's re initials, just point out (if you are having dd) that her surname will change anyway when she gets married and he'll have no control over her initials then :P

tbh pis i'm not taken with Athena, but it's personal choice at the end of the day. I like unusual names, but i'm not keen on names like River or Autumn, but when i've met kids with these names they've suited them iyswim. I think whatever you choose has to be to yours and dh's taste. Everyone else will get used to it. Dn is called Harry, and none of us liked it at first, especially as we have a cousin called Harry too so seemed silly! But now I can't imagine him being called anything else, it suits him. and I should add i never voiced to db and sil that i didn't like the name harry!

freshstart4us · 11/12/2014 12:27

Ah Pis the JAM issue is there, but mostly I'm a Shakespeare fan and he, alas poor Yorrick, is not. Xmas Wink He thinks it's overly romantic and pretentious... I can't believe I wrote Samantha Alice, btw. I am having serious pg brain disconnect moments - our preferred name is actually Stephanie Alice, which we both agree on, and the ONLY one we have so far. I've had to work on him for Max, he's still not 100% as his childhood dog was Max, but it goes really well with our surname so will just cross that bridge when we come to it - we're finding out the colour in February so will have 4+ months to finalise things! Xmas Grin

freshstart4us · 11/12/2014 12:34

Gosh really needed to refresh before posting!

tee rant away m'dear! And definitely start rinsing the pg thing, in late/leave early (peak hour trains can be difficult and on occasion dangerous for pg women, I was pushed off the train over a significant drop and onto the platform at about 24 wks and so avoided peak hours whenever I could from then on) since they're so happily rinsing the hangover thing!

Ooh I love Athena Pis. She was my very favourite Greek goddess! I don't know any Athenas but I do know a Demetria, she is Demi and I think it is a beautiful name.

RPopz · 11/12/2014 12:41

Argh tee that sounds shitty. Definitely take advantage of your pregnancy in future... I wish I had!! Esp if they're mucking you about. I've got the rage too, for no particular reason haha!

Lol at buzzy Rex Pis! I never thought to name them... Hmm

I like Juliette and JAM and Athena. Smile I think most of our chosen names are quite marmitey, which is why we've not told anyone them. It's annoying the hell out of my Mum haha!

OP posts:
Pisghetti · 11/12/2014 12:55

It's the only one I've ever named Grin

I see what you're saying Lil - I think that's why I don't want to discuss it with friends/family beforehand! If they don't like it they'll have to lump it if it's what we choose. Should discuss it with DP though Smile

willywallace · 11/12/2014 12:59

I probably like marmite names too. Think Autumn is really pretty. I think Athena is fine. Don't love it but don't think it's weird.

ZylaB · 11/12/2014 13:01

But buzzy friends are called Bob!! (Battery Operated Boyfriend!)

RPopz · 11/12/2014 13:02

Ha! Grin

OP posts:
freshstart4us · 11/12/2014 13:18

I always thought of my buzzy friends as MrAlmostPerfect. Never answered back, left the toilet seat up or quit before I was 100% satisfied... If only they'd come with wallets.... Grin

teejayem · 11/12/2014 13:24

Oh I will... I'm not getting any bloody prizes for being a 'good' attendant employee so what's the point. It makes me so cross considering I work in HR. I know that the rest of the business behave very differently.
Rex as a buzzy friend has made me giggle though, I don't think I've named any of mine.
Speaking of which, is anyone else having far stronger orgasms than normal!? I am literally breathless after a buzzy encounter at the moment.

RPopz · 11/12/2014 13:33

Yus. A most excellent upside of pregnancy Grin

Cymraes17 · 11/12/2014 13:33

At rhe risk of anyone out there kowing who I am, all of our DC's have mythical Welsh names, (from the Mabinogi, the oldest set of stories/myths in Welsh, and rather unusual names by now) and so will this one, my DF does'nt agree with the list I have so far, but it wont be his choice!
pis Athena is a lovely name, children sort of fit their name or the name fits them in a strange way, and after a while people just get used to them and learn to love the name because of the child.
minion thinking of you, hope you managed the reading.

DulcetMoans · 11/12/2014 13:36

Wow, good job I refreshed before posting. Was about to chat away happily about names and thread had swayed into vibrator chat! I can't comment on that though as no action of that type is taking place - playing it extra cautious and having a bloody break!

Athena is a pretty name. If someone said they had used it I would maybe be a bit Hmm but I do think its pretty. Anything 'TH' wouldn't work for me though as I am 'cockerneese' as DH would put it and I don't pronounce TH.

I had chilli last night, after wanting it for weeks. It tasted so good. I had three helpings Blush

DulcetMoans · 11/12/2014 13:38

Totally missed off my message to min in refreshing. Just to say I hope it all goes well and you decided about the reading without getting too upset either way. All here to listen later if you want to talk through the experience.

Leela5 · 11/12/2014 13:46

I've never named buzzy friends but I think if I did it would be Ralf like from Judy Blume forever.

I like old fashioned names like Marianne and Vivienne but my dh likes names like Benedict and anything funny that doesn't go with our surname.

I'm never keen on cutesy names because I feel sorry for the kid when it's an adult. I don't mind the more hippy names and I think children grow into them.

Jaime Winston is a girl in case that helps?

I'm worrying today - had really good sleep last night and I'm sure that's why I don't feel pregnant today - symptoms are always worse when tired. I have gone up to London and back with no ms symptoms.

Meeting was v dull

Hope today is ok for you min xxx

Pisghetti · 11/12/2014 13:47

Ah Cym the only name DP and I have agreed to put on the maybe list is a name from the Mabinogi! DS hates it though Hmm

He's quite keen on the idea of using a Welsh name (although he is English). I worry he and his family might struggle with pronunciation/spelling with a more unusual name like Addiena though Confused

ChatEnOeuf · 11/12/2014 13:51

Tee that rage sounds entirely well-placed. I've never heard of such inequality: 'thanks for not drinking/driving me home - come in earlier than me and do all my work'. That'd go down like a lead balloon in most workplaces.

I love the name Athena - wouldn't get it past DH though...

Hope all has gone well today Min and the family haven't been too difficult.

Remind me of these Toni Braxtons...when's the earliest I can legitimately say I felt them. Last night I was on the sofa and felt what was possibly some movement - like a ripple of a wave a couple of times (eek!!). But then I got gentle firming of my uterus, lasted a few seconds and went. Repeated a few times and stopped - never at all painful (the right side is poking above the pelvis now, I can see it when it does this). Had I have been 10 weeks further on I'd have known but this seems very early to be having them! I had a lot last time around, most days...
