Lots of tears today. Just want to go home and be comfy there and not feel bad for DH coming in every day. He's shattered and not even managing a good night's sleep at home. Hopefully home Tuesday ut that still seems an eternity away.

Lucy90 · 22/12/2014 21:02

Happier at the thought of going home, night times are hard - midwives etc will help but they are so busy. Still struggling to BF, so expressing constantly too (or trying to) but feel like she's not getting enough as for second night in row I can't settle her. Doesn't help I feel under a bit of pressure from DH to BF, but all I can think about is how much easier bottles would be! If he says "nose to nipple" one more time...! I feel sad we can't get the hang of it.

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 23/12/2014 05:03

Congrats silver! At last!

Espa don't let anyone pressurise uou into doing or not doing anything. I had to express colostrum a lot because BFing was so difficult. As long as they're getting something inside it doesn't matter how.

Espa, don't be sad. You are both learning and it takes time.
I have been topping Matthew up with formula using a syringe (insert little finger into his mouth to stimulate suck reflex, then gently dribble the formula in with the syringe. Avoids nipple confusion.
I am topping up just until my milk comes in. He was getting dehydrated as colostrum is low volume and he is a big boy (9lbs 4oz).

Peaceloveandbiscuits · 23/12/2014 05:16

Espa sorry I missed the bit about neonatal. Seriously though, just do what works for you and stop worrying so that you can just enjoy your lovely baby Smile

Hi, I've not been an active poster on here during my pregnancy but was an avid reader, this thread has really helped me out throughout pregnancy.

Just wanted to update and say my gorgeous baby girl was born early hours Saturday morning at a small but perfect 6lbs. I was induced Thursday (the day before my due date) had a bloody show at 2am Friday with some pains then lost my plug at 4am with labour pains coming. After 24.5 hrs, an epidural and stalled progress at 5cm I had an emergency section. Although the labour was long and difficult (had to do 12 hours with no gas and air or pain relief before a space on the labour ward was available for me). I'm so glad I went through it to meet my lovely little baby.

Good luck to those who are still waiting and congratulations on the births. X

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 23/12/2014 23:10

Espa I had horrendous latching issues. massive nipples and a.v wiggly baby meant it just didnt happen. I was expressing but she lost weight. I added a few bottles of formula a day, expressed too so she'd get boob goodness, and tried her on the boob every feed. Nearly a month later she latches more and more first time, her mouth is bigger and she is more alert. Shes gone from nipple to bottle or vice versa in one feed and has both every day and there has been absolutely no confusion. Feed the way that gets food into your baby. Things can be changed and adapted to suit. xx

I'm still waiting too-you are not alone! And not on fbook. Haven't posted since about 20 weeks but thought I'd pop back to see how everyone's getting on. I'm due 28.12 no signs of anything happening yet...congrats to everyone and good luck those still waiting x

CallingAllEngels · 24/12/2014 19:19

DD buddy dani !

DS was 3 days early so expected baby to follow his lead - my body knows what to do so frustrated he or she isn't here yet!

Danibogs · 24/12/2014 19:34

Yay Engels! Nice to have a buddy :) These last few weeks are frustrating, not helped by people asking if there have been any twinges every 5 mins! I'm trying to remember I'm not even overdue yet, and I'm sure baby will be here before we know it...but there are some moments when I can't believe its ever actually going to happen! Hope you have a happy Christmas and hopefully it'll happen soon for us :)

threeicklepickles · 24/12/2014 20:57

Still waiting here too, due Boxing Day. Ds1 was 5 days early and ds2 was 9 days early so this waiting is new not that I'm impatient, no not me but baby can stay put now til after Christmas.

Can we still join the fb group?

Happy christmas everyone have a lovely day

teaandducks · 27/12/2014 14:02

So were there no xmas day babies then?! I was due xmas but no signs yet so now 40+2... Feel more relaxed now christmas is over & family dispersing so hoping that helps! Still quote a few of us left on fb but getting lonelier by the day. Loving baby pics to spur us on...(tho less so sleeplessness & stress- might have afternoon nap just because I can eesh!)

CallingAllEngels · 27/12/2014 14:32

One of the Dec pg after mc ladies had a Christmas day baby by emcs after failed induction (think she was 2 weeks overdue).

Still waiting here and getting the rage at fb friends making stupid comments and asking me if there's any news.

Slightly stressed out at the idea of going into labour when my parents are here next week, but also have to get through 3 days on my own with ds first as dh is at work and nursery is closed.

39+6!!!!!

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 28/12/2014 09:31

There was a xmas day baby! cant for the life of me remember her user name tho!Grin
