Had a rather un-original attempt at a new name! Hop across ladies!

Hoping the stats link works...

I am, I'm in Manchester. I had my second here but only moved here at 36w pregnant so it's my first pregnancy in the NW! So far really like the one2One thing.

MuddyWellyNelly · 09/12/2014 13:26

Quick one from me as I wait for my Thursday scan. Is dizziness a real problem. Could it be blood pressure related? Otherwise I feel fine and am eating like a horse. Except horses don't have steak pie for lunch.

Feeling lightheaded and a bit woo. Been on and off for a couple of weeks but right now is the worst so far. 7+0 today if the scan reveals anything still in there. Confused

JoY007 · 09/12/2014 13:39

I had dizziness when I was ~5 weeks, and has stopped. Could be blood pressure related, however best to monitor, and speak to your mw about it when next you meet.

Working from home today as I was cramping a lot this morning. I'm glad my work knows about it as they are happy to accommodate me at the moment. It's better for them to let me work from home than having me sign off ufn.

pip hurray on the heartbeat.

Fleur really don't worry about it. I've easily gone back to my normal size (and smaller) each time - I'm sure BFing helped but it definitely wasn't hard to lose. If you need to eat, eat. There's nothing you can do to 'control' it so don't beat yourself up. Flowers

Number yeah mine got bigger each time, I won't tell you how big as it will freak you out Smile

Pip really don't worry about the measurements, I had loads of early scans with my previous two and they always came out as smaller than expected before 12w and then were put back where I expected at the 12w scan - it's much more accurate at 12w which is why they do the dating scan then. Bear in mind the difference between 7w and 7+4 is about 2mm and the baby is absolutely tiny at this point and it's difficult to get a clear picture/ measurement. If you had the scan an hour later or baby had moved slightly you'd probably get a different result.

I'm very jealous of this one-to-one midwife service, we don't have anything like that here. It sounds great! Wonder why they can't do that throughout the whole country?

Fleurchamp · 09/12/2014 14:12

tiny thanks for the reassurance Flowers

It's so frustrating that care is so varied across the country. My NHS trust has merged with another and they each do things differently too.

I think the one 2 one care sounds ideal.

Threeplus1 · 09/12/2014 14:15

The midwife care over here is quite similar to the one2one care you mentioned naturegirl except appointments are at their clinic. I'll see the same midwife throughout my pregnancy, labour and for 6 weeks after. They also have a back up system so I'll meet those 2 midwives as well so that no one is new to me or me to them.

I've gone and gotten a rotten cold and dd2 is off school sick too. So not much going on here other than cartoons and snuggling on the sofa

Tiny I've had a 9lb and 8lb 2.

Am I looking at 10lb? Shock

Naturegirl82 · 09/12/2014 15:18

Goodness number and tiny my first was 9 lb don't scare me about the size if this one! I'll just console myself that bigger babies are easier to birth supposedly

Number3cometome · 09/12/2014 15:23

My first was the 9lb DS the DD was 8lb 2lb at 38 weeks so I guess she would have been bigger?
I won't go full term, hopefully 38 weeks.

TinyCaterpillar · 09/12/2014 15:37

Yeah mine were both 40w, hoping to be induced early this time!

TinyCaterpillar · 09/12/2014 15:40

And yes well over 10lb! And I'm really small.... Makes perfect sense!

VirtualPointyHat · 09/12/2014 15:40

Muddy I was the same at 6-7 weeks had a scan then and touch wood no issues

Naturegirl82 · 09/12/2014 15:47

Eek tiny over 10 lbs Shock . Dd was born at 41 weeks but I have no assumptions that this one will come any earlier.

fattycow · 09/12/2014 16:05

I am really tired again... But I'm very much looking forward to my scan later on this week! Smile

Fleurchamp · 09/12/2014 16:09

Please don't scare me with talk of 10lb babies!!

Number3cometome · 09/12/2014 16:10

I'm kind of average (5ft 3 size 10-12) but mine were c-sections as will be this one.
And they say when you have preeclampsia babies are small - mine weren't!

DS was born on his due date.

My scan is Friday, feeling nervous.

Romeolovesjuliet · 09/12/2014 16:34

pip congrats on the scan and as others have said I'm sure Everything is fine and the clinic are just being thorough.
Mine were 9lbs5 (38 wks) and 9lbs9 (39 wks). I hope this one isn't much bigger - I would start to panic if I went past my due date I think.

StoneBaby · 09/12/2014 17:08

DS was 7lb4 when born at 38 weeks. Growth scan and measuring were predicting a 9lb. But I had big water retention hence why I was measuring big.

This one will also be born at 38 weeks as with the diabetes they don't recommend going over that date.

I bet I win the prize for doing both ends of the spectrum. DS1 8lb8 at 40+12 (induction + EMCS). DS2 1lb7 at 24+6 (breech vbac). No known reason for prematurity hence consultant led this time. As you can imagine I have zero expectations going into this one!! I'm 9+6.

naty1 · 09/12/2014 18:09

Dd was 7lb10 a few days early but still needed failed ventuose and forceps. And was almost a CS.
Dsis just had 9lb (some suspicion of GD after as she and he are small). I think she got carried away with the chocolate after DC1 was only 6lb.)
I was expecting a 10lb as both grandads were.
I think summer babies ae usually larger.
Pip fingers crossed for next scan.
I really dont know on something so small how they find the rump to measure.
I think i was 7+1 on scan day and measured 6+6. (Though nurse said 7+0 my egg collection was a monday and this was tues)
Mw booking today at 9+1 (which she called 9+2).
She said to wait for letter but pointed out the phone no. For the scans so i can chase it up if letter doesnt turn up.
She said no referral to con care for thyroid at this hospital, which is a bit annoying as not sure about gp managing it.

Hi ladies looking for reassurance/advice. I am 10wks tomorrow and I haven't had Ms, just nausea, tiredness and massive hard boobs. Today my boobs feel like they are back to the way they were before and I don't feel pregnant anymore. Saw baby's heartbeat at 6+6 but feeling majorly paranoid

laspalmas · 09/12/2014 19:04

I'm 10 weeks tomorrow also butler and today is the first day in a long time I haven't felt nauseous and feel almost back to normal. Placenta starts taking over around now so things can settle down around this time (although can be longer for others). Fact you've already seen HB is reassuring too x

Butler4 · 09/12/2014 19:07

Thanks laspalmas, due date twins too. I think I just need to stay away from Google. First pregnancy and so paranoid. 12 week scan is in 2 weeks, can't actually wait for that. No doubt by then I will find something else to worry about!

laspalmas · 09/12/2014 19:14

It's dc3 for me. You think I'd relax but after one very straightforward and one very complicated experience, it's harder than you think!! I'm just trying to stay in the moment with it all. Not worry about things that it can't control and sticking to my guns about the things I can. Pregnancy is mentally and physically a very challenging time!!!
