Had a rather un-original attempt at a new name! Hop across ladies!

Update - they have definitely guessed. Fil just asked DH while I was in shower I there is anything we wanted to tell them! We are both playing dumb til we have a scan the week after next Grin no idea what I did to give the game away!!

Naturegirl82 · 07/12/2014 10:56

Ah want it's so hard isn't it.

I'm feeling rough today, utterly exhausted despite Dh giving me a lie in. I've so much to do round the house as well.

Also my super sensitive sense of smell seems to be coming back (had it with dd1 pg) as dd1 nappies are starting to really make me gag. Even through the wet bag!

Fleurchamp · 07/12/2014 10:58

Is it just me or is it incredibly rude to ask someone if they are expecting? If you wanted them to know, you would tell them, surely?

I am spending next weekend with my MIL, she will guess but I know she wouldn't dream of saying anything to us (although I am sure she will speculate with my SIL behind our backs Smile ).

I am still in bed. If I move if feel sick. Supposed to be at my mum's in an hour for lunch Sad

Leela5 · 07/12/2014 11:11

Want - try fybogel - worked a treat for me last week Smile

smallgreenbanana · 07/12/2014 13:18

I have got the most horrible taste in my mouth, had it for days. All this talk of ice lollies ... I have ordered DH to buy me ice lollies as I feel they must be the solution to all my problems! Can't wait!!

Fleur I agree, I think it's rude to ask (certainly for colleagues, friends and acquaintances), as surely people should know that news like that comes at the right time... e.g. after the main risk of miscarriage is over, or whatever other reason is appropriate. I have in the past many times politely ignored any obvious signs in friend and colleagues and then politely acted surprised when they tell me later. Wink

Nature The spice/dry food cupboard in the kitchen smells so revolting to me I have to hold my breath when I open it. DH says he smells nothing. The smell is so disgusting to me I can't even begin to describe it.

VirtualPointyHat · 07/12/2014 13:29

No havent froze my own, Rubicon make them, they are in the Asian Frozen section of my local Tesco, so good!!

Threeplus1 · 07/12/2014 13:36

Same here smallgreenbanana I keep getting hot flashes and when one comes on I have to practically strip naked or I feel faint and sick. I too normally have a draughty neck but I am walking around in -5 with my coat open and scarf off just so I can manage school run!

I also keep getting a horrible taste in my mouth, I can't describe it but it's just awful Sad

Went to ikea last night and almost vommed a few times as the car journey was all too much. Ended up doing a quick dash for smoked salmon and a Christmas tree, which I couldn't face decorating once we got home

Toastandmarmiteallday · 07/12/2014 15:52

Also a vote here for fybogel - and doesn't taste quite as bad as you think it might. Recommend drinking through a straw though

TallGiraffes · 07/12/2014 16:05

Ugh I'm having a rotten weekend. I haven't kept anything (even water) down since yesterday. I know I'm dehydrated and if I was on my own I'd have trundled off to hospital by now. DH though is a doctor and has a very high threshold for thinking people need to be seen the trouble with working with people at death's door is you forget what's normal!

naty1 · 07/12/2014 16:24

Can he not do you a drip?
Better anti-emitics? (Sp)

Bustherb · 07/12/2014 18:19

Does anyone have any tips on helping sickness and tiredness while travelling for work? I'm going into my forth week of being sick morning noon and night and tomorrow I've got to travel with work 4 hours on a train and back to back meetings until early evening . Don't know How I'm going to cope ConfusedConfusedConfused xx

Toastandmarmiteallday · 07/12/2014 18:59

Only thing I have found Bust is to take snacks with you everywhere you go. Salted pretzels made a journey to the city a little bearable the other week or generally any thing salty and crunchy.

Felt so tired today and can't wait to go to bed tonight apart from the fact that DH is poorly (although not so darling at the moment after I had to sleep on the sofa last night because said DH was dying from man flu in the night and kept making the bed shake (making me feel sick) every time he coughed, sneezed, groaned and breathed!) Played the good wife and brought night nurse today in the hope that he will get better (aka knock him out so I can get a decent nights sleep!)

Any one else suffering with lower back ache? Mines pretty much been constant and not sure whether it's a common symptom this early on.

DustOffYourHighestHopes · 07/12/2014 19:03

Bring a variety of snacks. Something filling, something savoury, something sour etc. and a sickbag!

Bustherb · 07/12/2014 19:05

Thanks dust and toast. I take sick bags with me everywhere lol. I suddenly had to throw up in my sisters car yesterday! Very glam! Toast I get lower back ache but only when I do things like hoovering Shock xx

Thepurplegiraffe · 07/12/2014 19:09

I have an hour and a half commute to work and I completely rely on sweets such as polos, mint humbugs or lemon drops. Not great for the teeth but so far, this time and last time, it has stopped me actually being sick on the train. And water of course!

Bustherb · 07/12/2014 19:14

Thanks purple. I'm absolutley dreading it. Luckily I've told my boss who's travelling with me about the baby and she's been very supportive. Although I've got another colleague who is travelling with me and she doesn't know ConfusedConfused will have to say I've got travel sickness xx

Bustherb · 07/12/2014 19:17

Forgot to add its the 6.30am train too!!! Confused ConfusedConfusedConfusedConfused

Lewaney3 · 07/12/2014 19:21

dustoff glad to know I'm not the only one who grabs DH wailing at times. Blush

It also makes me feel slightly better knowing I'm not the only one whose feeling rough and sick...

Thanks for the handy tips regarding journeys. I have a work conference on weds and I do not know how to get through it. Especially as my boss doesn't know yet... Neither do I plan on telling him for a short while yet.

On a more cheerful note. I bought baby's first item yesterday. It's small and unisex. So putting it away for safekeeping. Smile

Leela5 · 07/12/2014 19:31

My friend tipped me off that sea sickness wrist bands can help with ms. Not tried them yet

Bustherb · 07/12/2014 19:49

Lewaney how long have you been sick for? I've just thrown the whole contents of my stomach up for
The 3rd time today Confused xx

Romeolovesjuliet · 07/12/2014 19:52

Haven't been on in a few days due to 2xsick children so apologies that I am late in sending my thoughts to the ladies that had sad news.
Finally have my appointment dates - 8th and 9th of Jan so I will be just over 12 wks. Had hoped I would get booked a little earlier than that but the first date they offered me was NYE and we are away. I guess it's something to look forward to in the dark days of Jan!

misseskimo · 07/12/2014 22:05

Just spent the evening making cards to give out to our family over Christmas. Wanted to show someone so you guys get the honours of first look! I've uploaded two pictures to this post, one for our sisters and one for the parents...

Inside just reads "Baby S, expected 13th July 2015"

They are very sweet Miss I'm sure they are going to love them. a hateful pedant would say it should be you're not your but I'm not that pedant
We don't really get to do an announcement as everyone knew we were having the IVF so everyone knows the result already.

BadIdeaBear · 07/12/2014 22:27

Oh they're so lovely miss - excellent storks!

I still haven't worked out whether to just blurt it out or to do something a bit more thought-through! Got MIL and FIL staying on 28th Dec and my parents on 29th so planning over dinner (well before really, since they'll be so weirded out by me not drinking). So that means storks on cakes might not work...!

Lewaney3 · 07/12/2014 23:01

bustherb I was carefree and thinking I was going to get away with just cramps until I hit 6 weeks and then it all went downhill this entire week. I'm similar to you either throwing up or holding on trying not to gag at the slight smell of anything offensive... DH steak flavoured crisps tipped me over the edge last night. I find it to be much worse during the evenings and into the night. :/

miss those cards are so sweet. Very happy that you get to share your news in such a lovely way...I just welled up over how beautiful they are
