Had a rather un-original attempt at a new name! Hop across ladies!

Hoping the stats link works...

After having lots of cramps and non stop crying episodes I took the risk of an early scan and feeling incredibly grateful because everything looks OK. Still very early days, 6 + 5 they think.

Massive hugs to all those who has bad news.

Thepurplegiraffe · 04/12/2014 17:19

My DH is 5 years younger as well and before me his longest relationship was 2 months. I sometimes wish he had had more experience of relationships before me as well bit we have lasted 7 years so can't be all bad.

Thepurplegiraffe · 04/12/2014 17:20

Cross post Blaze, glad everything is ok!

Pipbin · 04/12/2014 17:23

So sorry to hear your news Sdyer and Teddy.

WantToGoingTo · 04/12/2014 17:30

My DH had never had a girlfriend of any sort before me! Hmm

But we are 5yrs going, and married a year so it is all good :) he does lack emotional intelligence, though that may be due to a) being male b) lack of previous girlfriends and c) private all boys schooling

Leela5 · 04/12/2014 17:37

fleur honestly we are like twins. My nausea kicked in this afternoon. I also have diarrhoea which is wonderful Grin

StoneBaby · 04/12/2014 17:38

I could live on peanut butter and philadelphia sandwich if I was allowed Blush I haven't had a snickers yet but now that it has been mentioned I need want one

headlesschicken247 · 04/12/2014 17:46

Just back from scan and all going well. So relieved. Measuring 8+3

DustOffYourHighestHopes · 04/12/2014 17:54

Great news headless and blaze.

So so sick here. I remember now how RUBBISH the first three months are. WHY DID I DO THIS TO MYSELF AGAIN!?

IBelieveInPink · 04/12/2014 17:58

I haven't had my scan date through yet. Dying to know when it's going to be, would be fairly unfortunate if it's the first week in January as that is my first week back at work from mat leave!

I may have been naughty today. And found my Doppler. And had a little listen. I... Think... I heard a heart beat!! Eeeeeek!

8+4

Fleurchamp · 04/12/2014 18:18

I am trying to forget about mw appts and scans.

After my failed attempt to find out a scan date last week resulted in me acquiring 3 booking in appointments (about which I am still waiting for confirmation that I do now only have one) I have decided that I have no control, the NHS does, and I had better get used to it. Also, the more c0ck ups the NHS make the more likely DH will decide that we must go private Grin

Anyone else have a DH that thinks the only good decisions are the ones he makes?

Fleurchamp · 04/12/2014 18:18

Ps I now want a Doppler Envy

StoneBaby · 04/12/2014 18:23

Still no scan date here neither despites been told by diabetes specialist that he would enquire. My 12 weeks will be 2nd week of Jan so plenty of time but keep on been told I should have an early scan due to my health. I can't decide if I should nag chase or not...

Zampa · 04/12/2014 19:32

I've been waiting over 2.5 weeks for a date for my booking in appointment. It's really frustrating.

I've booked a private scan for Friday 12th when I'll be 9+1. Don't really feel equipped for it, having not even spoken to a midwife but going to go ahead with it.

broodylicious · 04/12/2014 19:46

teddy and sdyer, I'm so sorry for your losses, it really is so devastating. I hope you have plenty of support in RL and find comfort in your dp/dh and families. Please allow yourselves to grieve (it's hard to heal but grieve for sure) and be kind to yourselves xxx

For those waiting for scan dates, have you tried calling the hospital you've allocated for the birth and asking to speak to the team who books the scan appts? That's what I ended up doing with my last pregnancy because the mw said there was a backlog and it'd been two weeks since I'd seen her. The lady I spoke to confirmed the backlog and said she'd not got my file in her immediate pile so took my details, searched through then called back with a date. Could've just been flukey that I got a nice lady who wanted to help but I shan't hesitate to do the same again this time around if I haven't got a date by Xmas Eve (I'll be 10 weeks on Xmas day).

IBelieveInPink · 04/12/2014 19:49

At my booking in (a week and half ago) I was told it was likely to take 2 weeks. If I've not heard by the end of next week I'll be chasing

naty1 · 04/12/2014 20:21

Realised if it takes 2 weeks from tues 9th booking appt that would be 23rd /12 (11wks) and quite likely i may not get the letter till after xmas with the post.

Im going to ask for phone no.
Though i think 13+4 isnt till 9/01 so it may be ok. But you never know even with ivf they may try to date me differently.

IBelieveInPink · 04/12/2014 20:25

I think it massively varies depending on hospital. I've recently moved and had dd in a different area, with that one I had a scan date less than a week after booking. Worth checking with midwife at booking in...

Number3cometome · 04/12/2014 20:33

Ladies, totally random and I'm sure it's absolutely impossible but I keep getting a tightening feeling which is almost like a very very mild braxton hicks?! Is it even possible????

StoneBaby · 04/12/2014 20:42

Number3 can it be stretching? I get some sensation in my tommy that I could swear is the baby moving if I was much later in my pg!

Number3cometome · 04/12/2014 20:54

Might be but it feels like it gets tight? Weird!

StoneBaby · 04/12/2014 21:02

Number3 I know what you mean. I think the problem is that we know what's coming so our mind is playing tricks on us

NotPennysBoat · 04/12/2014 21:07

Stone I was relaxing on the sofa last night and had a big swig of a cold drink and I swear I felt those baby-moving flutters! Came straight on MN to do a search and apparently it's pretty impossible, but I don't know what else it could be and it feels just like the flutters in my last pg.

StoneBaby · 04/12/2014 21:18

Same here Penny but as I'm only 7+1 I know there's no chance. Must be gas Grin

owlsandbadgers · 04/12/2014 21:23

Hi everyone,
I can't keep up with this thread at all, it moves so fast! Hope everyone is well. The sickness has really kicked in now, I've only been able to keep down a few crackers and a couple of sips of water for the last days. It was my sons birthday yesterday and i spent the whole day either being sick or dozing, I'm exhausted! I don't remember last time being this draining.
