Had a rather un-original attempt at a new name! Hop across ladies!

Hoping the stats link works...

Scan date is Friday 2 jan when I'll be 13 + 2 so just within scope of Nuchal test which is 13 + 6, so hoped it would be before then, disappointed.

TinyCaterpillar · 03/12/2014 18:02

To all those with small age gaps to come - don't worry too much, it's fantastic (most of the time!). 18mo between my two and although the first year was tough, they've always got on really well and now play together nicely (which means I don't have to play toddler games all day) Smile Also as they are both under 3.5 still they often still nap which has been fantastic during this pg. and they're into the same things so trips out are easy.... Well as easy as it can be herding two toddlers!

itsnotthatdeep · 03/12/2014 18:11

eski it was me I cant get enough Shock

BadIdeaBear · 03/12/2014 18:19

haha I noticed the gorgeous nails too - lovely colour!

Fleurchamp · 03/12/2014 18:37

overtired what is the deal if your dates are out? Will they just not be able to do the test?

misseskimo · 03/12/2014 18:38

Haha thanks want I've been using acrylics for years and decided last month to change over to a more natural product, so using Gelish? Getting them re-done Friday too Smile

Just had my first mw apt. Have to say she was lovely, only downside being she leaves in January so I'll be re-assigned to a new one Sad I'm also being referred for specialist ob-gynae apt. due to medical history, she said I could just be given advice and referred back, but need to wait to find out more.

Agree with tiny re. age gaps. First 6ish months tough but now they play together brilliantly and I think I have it easier than my friends with gaps closer to 3 yrs. We did plan for a bigger gap between 2 and 3 but it will actually be the same as 1 and 2. I am a bit daunted at that prospect but in the long run think it will be great!

Overtiredbackagain · 03/12/2014 19:24

Fleur I have no idea, the letter states the Nuchal tests can only be done between 11 weeks and 13 + 6. It's only giving 4 days within the cut off Hmm Think I should contact them?

luckythirteen · 03/12/2014 19:53

Bit late to the party but can I join please?!

DC1 & DC2 due 2nd July 2015!

Overtiredbackagain My 12 week scan was scheduled when I would be 13+4 and like you I was nervous about only just being inside the cut off. I telephoned the number on the letter and was able to bring it forward no problem.

Thepurplegiraffe · 03/12/2014 19:58

Congrats lucky, how exciting!

That's what some of my friends say re the age gap, hard for a while but pays off. I hope they are right. There is 15 months between my sister and I and 15 months again to the next sister (my poor brother followed 3 years later) and it was and it absolutely amazing for us.

naty1 · 03/12/2014 20:19

We will have 3yr gap, which isnt too bad considering the ivf. We wanted to do treatment this time last yr but xmas was in the way, tried ivf in jan - failed and aug cycle was only 3 eggs and had a tube issue. So this cycle started in sept. It will be easier as DC1 will have stopped teething, be at nursery for free hrs. Though that means i will have to rush out house to take them and theyll get all the germs to pass on.
They change so much 12-18m where i couldnt have coped with 12m gap 18 would prob have been ok. So much depends on personality of the baby.

Not sure i would want to get too close to the deadline for NT.
Havent been booked in so im sure my nt scan will also be on late side.

It depends on baby lying correctly to get the measurements, though not sure if they give up or call you back for another scan(i had an internal scan as baby not lying right)

Number3cometome · 03/12/2014 20:38

Mine will have an 8 and 12 year gap Shock

Feeling yucky

BlazeofLight · 03/12/2014 20:39

Good to hear so many positives on the small gap - all going well ours will be 21 months, but only one year apart at school. I am nervous but love the idea of them being close. Just hope DC1 is sleeping through by then and that DC2 is a sleeper

SophieBarringtonWard · 03/12/2014 20:39

I have a 3 year gap between DC1 and DC2, & this gap will be about 3y9m between DC2 and DC3. If I had my time again I would probably go for smaller gaps, but there were lots of reasons we went for the gaps we have (DH's final year medical exams, non sleeping DC1, shell shock of first baby!), & ultimately DC1 and DC2 are good friends, share a room & play together nicely so it's worked out fine.

I am booked for my NT scan at 13w 3… I'm a bit uneasy about it but it was the only date possible for DH to attend & I would really like him to be at the scan since he won't be at anything else probably not even the birth I do only ovulate around day 21 though so I do feel like I have a week to play with in my dates! Fingers crossed anyway.

broodylicious · 03/12/2014 20:47

Not had time to flick through what's happened today - hope everyone is doing ok and coping through the nausea and fatigue. Killers, aren't they?! I slept from 2.45 to 6.15 this afternoon/evening Blush then woke up feeling absolutely shocking due to needing food and drink. Had an iced yoghurt lolly and felt ok for a few minutes then horrendous again! Not sure I can stomach food again today but can smell tea downstairs so I'll have to try.

I've noticed for the last few days, I've had like a tiny brown smear inside my knickers. Nothing when I wipe. No pains (bar normal stretching) so I don't want to get all distressed and am just playing it cool. Do you ladies think I should call mw or just hang on a bit? My thinking is red = panic, brown = wait?

itsnotthatdeep · 03/12/2014 21:08

number that makes me feel better our gap will be 9yrs and its also my OHs first born so there will be lots of learning both sides.

I feel really yuck today been going toilet lots and stomach ache Sad but not scary periody type pains thank goodness

JoY007 · 03/12/2014 21:08

I had brown spotting today as well. I am off to epu tomorrow, only because GP recommended as he wants to be sure my back pain is indeed muscular.

Fx, quite worried, but trying to stay calm and positive, that all is well, as I do feel ok.

StoneBaby · 03/12/2014 21:19

There'll be a 5 and ½ years gap between DS and this one. We were aiming for a 2&½ years gap but my body decided otherwise.

Fx Joy and broody

Threeplus1 · 03/12/2014 21:53

I have a 15 month gap between Ds and DD1, then 6 years between DD1 and DD2. There will be almost 5 years between DD2 and DC3. I think the timing has worked in our favour, but it was hard going being 22 with 2 under 2. The older two have been fab and great helps with DD2 and I'm sure they'll continue to be with the next one - DD2 in particular will be soooo excited to have a baby sibling Grin

I had my booking in appointment on Monday and the midwife took first 1/2 a vial of blood (the vein was pumping too slowly so she tried again) and then took another 5 from my other arm ouch, my arms were sore for the rest of the day and I felt quite sorry for myself!

As I will be 12 weeks a couple of days after Christmas, I likely won't get my scan until the New Year and my midwife is away over Christmas so I won't see her again until the 5th Jan. I'll be 13+3 by then so I hope my scan date comes through a bit earlier so I'm not so close to the cut off either.

Good thing is, though, that I should be able to hear the heartbeat at the next appointment according to the midwife - I never got to hear it so early with the others. In fact I was told you had to wait until 16 weeks, so I am nervously excited about that Smile

Pipbin · 03/12/2014 23:33

Good luck tomorrow Jo

sdyer · 04/12/2014 06:50

Morning all. Brown spotting turned into blood this morning so am going to EPU for a scan. Not getting my hopes up.

LizziTea · 04/12/2014 07:07

I am so sorry to hear that, Syder. Thinking of you. Fx for you and everyone else with an EPAU appointment today.

Overtiredbackagain · 04/12/2014 07:24

Thinking of you sdyer x

TinyCaterpillar · 04/12/2014 07:37

Good luck Syder Flowers

Thepurplegiraffe · 04/12/2014 07:39

sdyer really hope it's not what you think. Thinking of you this morning.

It looks like I am going to be home today with a sick baby and I have just been sick myself, what a fun day I am going to have.
