Congratulations pinkgirly! I have a feeling we were due date buddies - properly green with envy now!

Oh Petal I really feel for you. Just what you don't need right now. Sending you a big hug xx

ladydolly · 17/11/2014 18:06

Yay pink!! Congratulations!!!

There's a few inductions ahead then, lets hope some of us manage to get these babies out before then!

I think my family and friends are more impatient and frustrated than I am... which in itself is annoying!

Arkkorox · 17/11/2014 18:23

Thanks ladies. Sad day today clearning some of her things out. Funeral is next wednesday so hoping baby stays put till after then really.

Congrats Pink on your new arrival!

amy83firsttimer · 17/11/2014 18:59

Don't forget that you can ask for monitoring instead of induction. They don't have the right to tell you what to do, just give you options. Also think about your dates and whether they moved forward or back at your 12 week scan. I don't know whether it's the same everywhere but certainly at my hospital you can't have an MLU birth if you're induced so you're more likely to end up with continuous monitoring and lying on your back etc etc etc.

Thanks for the hugs ladies, my mum and I clash a lot, we are both very stubborn, just something I don't need at the moment!

amy I know what you mean about induction. My dates were moved forward a week at the 12 week scan so I may only really be just over 40 weeks rather than 41. I would like to be mobile as last time I wasn't but on the other hand I am ready to get baby out now by (almost) any means....

haventgotaclue1 · 17/11/2014 19:28

Yay pinkgirly Grin - that's great news Thanks

Am another one getting quite a few texts / Whatsapp messages now (and my EDD is tomorrow!!!) - don't know how everyone else let alone me and DH is going to cope if Bean doesn't make an appearance soon-ish Confused. Am seriously considering hibernation...

ToniWol · 17/11/2014 19:36

Congratulations Pink!

40+10 today. Had a second sweep and am currently twinging. Hoping it might be the start of something. Have my appointment for Wednesday as well. At the moment the midwife thinks it'd be more likely for me to be offered one of the non-drug forms of induction (they offer a new technique of stretching the cervix with a catheter balloon in addition to breaking the waters here!) as my Bishops Score was 6 today. But we'll see what's what then if we end up going.

Been to set the pram up at my Mums tonight as well. So now baby really shouldn't have any reason to delay any longer.

Hope everyone else is okay.

ladydolly · 17/11/2014 19:37

my dates were only moved by a couple of days and my induction is booked for thursday when I'll be 42 weeks so I'd still be well over.

my family managed to keep their nagging to a minimum for a week or so but since the weekend they've not been able to keep it in. we've not told anyone I've been booked in for an induction but I'm sure they'll figure it out!

Vijac · 17/11/2014 20:39

I can't do the copy and paste thing as I'm on my phone but that's fine. So exciting hearing about all the babies being born. I have another sweep tomorrow. 40+4 now. Though by my calcs I could be nearer 40 weeks.

amy83firsttimer · 17/11/2014 20:54

If you just type your stuff I'll do the c&p for you.

CazY777 · 17/11/2014 21:30

Congrats to everyone who's babies have arrived in the last few days.Flowers

I had a mostly positive experience at the hospital today. Went for monitoring (as I've not been induced at 40 weeks) and the midwife really went out of her way to make me feel relaxed and less anxious. Had baby's heart rate monitored for half hour, all perfectly normal, my blood pressure wasn't too bad and registered a few mild contractions. Even managed to have a sweep (with the help of some gas and air, I was giggling away afterwards!), though my cervix isn't favourable it helped me to get used to it and feel better that I will be able to cope with other examinations that I know I'm going to have to have. Was even feeling positive about having her at the hospital if I had to, it all didn't seem as bad as I'd imagined it. Then I had to see the consultant and she just came out with the same old party line about induction and trying to pressurise me into agreeing a date, which just upset me! They won't take into account at all that my dates are a week later than the scan dates, though my periods were extremely regular 28 days.

So, after getting upset I'm now going to just take it a day at a time and focus on what I can do to help get things moving -walking the dog, having regular sweeps, bit of help from hubby...! And I'll try and keep the induction talk at bay until next week. Going back for more monitoring on Thursday. Been getting lots of BH and premenstrual feelings today so hoping that's positive dispite my cervix obviously not being ready yet.

Hope everyone is managing ok, these last 2 weeks have definitely been the toughest part for me.

CazY777 · 17/11/2014 21:42

Thanks for posting that article ladydolly

ladydolly · 17/11/2014 21:55

I feel your pain cazy777, I feel a lot of pressure from people around me, like I'm letting them down. I'm going to try the same as you, take it day by day, do what I can and see what happens. Whenever I feel a bit emotional/upset/annoyed I try and think that it's the labour hormones going and it's a good thing.

Also, anecdotally, my mum saw her consultant 2 days before her due date, he examined her and said 'you won't have your baby for at least 2 weeks' - I was born 12 hours later.

ladydolly · 17/11/2014 21:57

(I feel like popping onto the due in July boards and warning them that if they thought the 2ww to poas was difficult its nothing compared to waiting for baby to arrive!)

Thanks ladydolly, I'm sure I can't be feeling this uncomfortable for nothing, there must be something happening down there!

catg83 · 18/11/2014 07:49

Morning everybody. So 40+5 today. Thanks to whoever put that article up yesterday (can't see on my phone). It is an odd kind of limbo. OH was very helpful Grin last night but no signs. Sigh. Will go for a walk to the charity shop today to take a bag of donations and have a cruise through the baby clothes.
Hope everybody is as comfortable as possible. x

Thisisimpossible · 18/11/2014 09:08

Morning all Smile More BH last evening, and quite strong again, getting stronger than previously but they've all b*ered off again overnight.

My lovely friend who was due yesterday managed to deliver hers bang on time - I am delighted for her but greener than ever!

Have been asked to nip into work for a couple of hours this morning to help out with the lady who's replaced me - something useful to do - hooray!

Hugs to you all and echoing cat's wishes that everybody is as comfortable as possible. xx

ToniWol · 18/11/2014 09:20

Am not particularly comfortable with lots of back twinges but am hoping that it means I'm moving closer. I have a load of washing on and am about to move onto the ball with my knitting (second cardigan done, back to the blanket). Must have a look at the TENS machine as well.

amy83firsttimer · 18/11/2014 12:40

Is someone who MNs on a proper computer going to put our list up to date? Pretty please!!!!

Getyourflipflopson · 18/11/2014 12:55

39 + 4 today, just got back from second sweep. Am having sweeps a little early due to being put onto medication for high blood pressure. Midwife said I was 2cm dilated this time and completely effaced! Grin have been losing plug the last two days since the first sweep, hope things keep moving. Good luck to everyone else aswell.

haventgotaclue1 · 18/11/2014 12:59

I'm on a "proper computer" Amy! Bear with me and I'll give it a stab...will have to trawl back through some of the previous pages to make sure I haven't missed anyone......
