Congrats twiglet!! What a heroic midwife too!!

Thought I may have had first signs of losing plug this morning and midwife said although head still not engaged things are happening, cervix thinning and opening and was able to have stretch and sweep. Booked for another on Saturday and then induction at the last possible date next Thursday. Been for tesco shop straight after, a bit crampy and lots a of BH so fingers crossed this will be enough to get things going.

Amy let's hope its us making thew announcements tomorrow!

Congrats Twiglet Thanks. Crikey 9cms was cutting it a bit fine. Lovely midwife too!

Lol ThisIs. Your poor OH
I think I might give the Tens machine a miss as it didn't really do much for me.

Off to scoff a sausage sandwich before my 40 week midwife appt. Due date today so feeling bit meh. I've now readjusted it in my mind to Sunday which was the original one before the scan moved it. It's probably more accurate as I definitely know the date of conception.

Thanks for the new thread amy83firsttimer. I'm 39 weeks tomorrow, Braxton hicks every day now for the past two weeks and I'm being monitored every three days because of maternal hypertension. Will be requesting to go on medication if the lower number goes above 100, as I was induced last year for the same reason and am keen to avoid that experience!

Am definitely becoming a green eyed monster now Grin

Tidying, dog walking and supermarket today.
Got serious preggo rage trying to find a space at the supermarket. Waiting for a parent and child space and as people came back to their spaces it was an OAP couple followed by 4 grown women followed by another OAP couple. I really can't fit into normal spaces myself at the moment let alone lifting the 2 year old in and out of the car, grrrr!!
40+4....

Just got in from my eventful 40 week appointment. They found some protein and ketones in my urine, which could be an infection or down to my high BP. Still there 2 samples later. Midwife was concerned and called the doctor as I might need to be admitted (and induced).

Sent up to the Maternity Assessment Unit to be monitored. Baby is fine albeit a bit sleepy/sluggish and my BP slightly reduced. Now booked in for an urgent scan tomorrow to check placental flow, induction is now dependent on the results.

Had a sweep done, gosh, it really hurt cervix is still quite far back but at least I'm 1cm dilated with lots of show. Hopefully something kicks off overnight so I can avoid induction.

Will cross everything for you workfree; when I was checked yesterday at 2cm they gave me a sweep and it all kicked off massively after that, in about an hour.

Had something else to say but brain is scrambled. Oh yes, ds2's name is Auden Joshua.

Good luck WorkFree, really hope something happens for you overnight.

It's my due date today too (well, according to my dates I still have another week), had some cramps and stabbing pains but they're starting to ease off now. Midwife said yesterday that the stabbing pains are good as they mean that my cervix is softening.

Massive congrats Twiglet & Utopian !

Gosh babies really do their own thing, don't they? You don't realise till the birth how in charge they are!

God the after pains during feeding are so weird. The ones in your uterus feel odd enough but nobody told me you'd feel your fanjo tightening too! Hmm

DrBlondie · 13/11/2014 19:36

Congratulations Utopian and TwigletFiend! Does that make 2 babies a day for the last 2 days, or have I got muddled? If so, any takers for a hat-trick and have another 2 arriving tomorrow? Don't all push at once! Grin

Haven't - I thought the same with the mama tens too. I did the brief trial that the booklet suggested and could only get up to a3 before it got a bit much. I dread to think how much pain I'll need to be in to crank it up to c15...

WorkFreeWannabe - hope everything is OK and you're coping. Will keep everything crossed for things to kick off overnight.

I'm pretty sure that baby blondie has moved from her fully engaged position to something less favourable for birth (bump changed shape, not waddling so much, able to cross my legs for first time in ages). I'm only 38+5 so guess there's time for her to move back but I'm bit disappointed as felt that we were all ready and now we're not, if you see what I mean. Sigh.

Hope everyone else is well and coping.

Thanks everyone!

I'm trying to stay relaxed so hopefully things will kick off overnight. Had lots of cramping so far. Fingers crossed they increase.

So typical, baby is fine, but my body is letting me down. After wishing him here for weeks, now I'm apprehensive and scared about what's to come.

Congratulations to all the new babies so far!Smile
Long time lurker here, it's been so exciting seeing the new babies arriving every day!
I'm 39+2, had a sweep yesterday and was told I was 3cm already, before the sweepShock lost my mucus plug over the afternoon and had mild cramping all day. Then had what I thought were 3 big contractions 5-10 mins apart in the evening. Was all action stations putting DD to bed, phoning my mum who's 2.5 hours away, getting another babysitter on standby then.....nothing. Managed to sleep ok and have had a few twinges again today, lost more mucus plug. Got my mum to drive 100miles to keep me company but am just really frustrated as I thought it would all kick off again today! Surely if I was 3cm before the sweep something must be happening. Can you lose your mucus plug and still go on for weeks? I wouldn't be bothered as I'm still before my due date if I hadn't got all excited about being 3cm already. Also everyone keeps telling me how second labours are quick and we are about 30mins from the hospital so I'm anxious about not leaving it too late! Come on baby make your mind up!
