Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Welcome horis.

You can go on for weeks with no plug, or it'll regrow, similarly you can walk round a bit dilated. Sorry. Basically anything's possible and the baby will come when it's ready.

Cut and paste the most recent due date list adding yourself in sequence and I'll look forward to hearing your news. If you need to ask anything embarrassing here's the place to do it I find!!!

Kantha · 14/11/2014 01:08

Horis - hello. I had a sweep on a Tuesday where I was told I was 3cm and 80% effaced. That left me feeling crampy and my plug went over the next two days. Then not much happened until Saturday when my waters went. Labour started and DD was born on the Sunday. Weirdly, in early labour I was told that I was only 1cm having been 3cm 5 days earlier. Confused

I really do need I post my birth story, but I'm a bit too tired right now.

TwigletFiend · 14/11/2014 06:48

Welcome Horis!

Survived night one, though still in hospital at the mo as she pooed during delivery and had to stay in for observation. Feeding tricky to start with but managed to get latch right on our own the last few times, hurrah!

WorkFree, keeping everything crossed for you that things are moving.

Hope everyone else is doing ok too, we are on the home stretch now! Makes all the discomfort worth it when you get to snuffle that soft baby forehead unless baby has meconium in their hair and you keep forgetting

catg83 · 14/11/2014 08:46

Twigletfiend- that made laugh.

Had a singular BH at about 10 last night which really scared the OH. Apart from that nada. 40+1 and counting!

WorkFreeWannabe · 14/11/2014 09:37

LOL! Twiglet Grin

Lots of cramping overnight but no sizeable contractions. My emergency scan is booked in for 2. Nothing earlier unless the delivery suite call for an emergency slot errmm, that's what it should have been.

Good news is I think I've lost the rest of my show. Never been so happy to see a lump of bloody snot in all my life!

C'mon baby! Your Eviction Notice has been served, you've got 5 hours to move before the bailiffs midwives forceably turf you out.

haventgotaclue1 · 14/11/2014 10:17

Good luck Workfree - am thinking of you. Twiglet that really made me laugh Grin. Welcome Horis!

Had a fairly decent night's sleep last night Shock - that was after Bean spent 1.5 hours going absolutely nuts in there - actually felt pretty uncomfortable...was hoping it was a sign that it was battling to make an appearance, but then everything calmed down Confused. Still, have made a start on cleaning the kitchen cupboards this morning...can't work out if it's me starting to "nest" or me giving myself something to do....I guess time will tell....4 days to go and definitely counting

FTMK · 14/11/2014 11:30

Morning all. Apologies for being AWOL. I have news, baby boy FTMK was born on November 6th at 9.18pm weighing 7lb 7.

My waters went at 38 weeks in the morning and labour started later that night. Had a bit of a tough time and ended up in theatre with forceps and a PPH as he was not progressing the following evening. Had to be in hospital for 6 nights including a stay in SCBU for the boy due to concerns similar to Kantha with the vomiting green bile and a suspected bowel obstruction. This meant a big weight loss as well. We've had issues with feeding - he's a sleepy baby and my supply isn't good due to the PPH and transfusion. Getting there slowly with weight gain for him. I've asked for a post birth debrief as I want to go over it as I was pretty out of it for the last part and had a failed epidural and ended up with a spinal block which was heavenly when it went in. Do feel a bit like I didn't do it properly even though I did push him out with the forceps in theatre (v odd when you can't actually feel anything below the braline).

So lovely to hear about everyone's news.

ladydolly · 14/11/2014 11:51

Congratulations ftmk!!! You've been through the mill, glad things are on the up now and you're home.

I am in an unreasonably bad mood today. Dp working from home and will eventually bear the brunt of it I'm sure. 8 days over and with Babydolly getting bigger and head not engaged I'm getting really uncomfortable, rib pain and her general wriggliness in such a small space is difficult. I'm tired and I'm bored.

Right, moan over. Perhaps I'll do some online shopping, cheer myself up.

WorkFreeWannabe · 14/11/2014 12:21

Welcome Horis!

Congrats FTMK Thanks. Sounds like you had a time of it

I think Jellybean was listening before as my waters went about an hour again. Delivery suite want me to stay put as my contractions are quite mild. And waters seem clear, bar bits of plug .

catg83 · 14/11/2014 12:53

Brilliant news workfree. Everything crossed for you. x

catg83 · 14/11/2014 12:54

Also massive congratulations FTMK. Sounds like it has been a bit rough but all getting better. x

ToniWol · 14/11/2014 13:34

Congratulations FTMK!

LadyDolly - am with you on the grumpiness. Sweep in half an hour though so hopefully something will start off over the weekend.

Sazhoopz · 14/11/2014 13:38

Had my sweep today, am 2cm dilated & effacing but cervix is still quite high. Baby isn't fully engaged yet either but I think that's normal for 2nd babies?

Midwife told me to relax for the rest of the day so have taken myself to bed and letting H entertain the toddler

pinkgirlythoughts · 14/11/2014 15:42

Well, after midwife appointment yesterday, baby has finally engaged, which is a good sign! Have spent most of the day walking around town and then doing food shopping, so hoping to encourage things in the right direction, although I'm now absolutely exhausted, can hardly keep my eyes open!

haventgotaclue1 · 14/11/2014 16:04

Great news FTMK Grin - very many congratulations Thanks.

Hope everything is going well with Workfree, ToniWol, Sazhoopz and pinkgirly

weeonion · 14/11/2014 17:08

Yeah - lots of babies!! Congrats to you all! Xxxx

hotfuzzra · 14/11/2014 18:00

Oh my, I've missed so much!
Congratulations to all the new babies, it's so exciting!
I'm 39 weeks on Monday and ready for baby to come. I've had midwife do home birth visit and I've got drugs, entonox and waterpool at home waiting to go. I think I'll be massively over but I'd love a prompt baby. I'm 2/5ths engaged with regular BHs so I do hope that means something. Getting lots of twinges and aches down there. Please come soon babyfuzz!
Good luck everyone!

Arkkorox · 14/11/2014 19:44

I am now officialy on maternity leave! Wooo no more stairs! Can feel baby wiggling really low down..... wishful thinking its in the right place? lol

Thehedgehogsong · 14/11/2014 19:55

Congrats on the mat leave Arkk! And congrats to any new mummies I've missed. I'll wait until tomorrow night to update the list again :)

I'm very leaky and having tightenings again. Every 3 to 8 minutes, so a bit unpredictable again. I'm going to ring the midwives in the morning to ask for advice if nothing progresses over night, it's been 4 days of leaky feelings now so I suppose it's time to get checked out!

Horispondle · 14/11/2014 20:19

Thanks for the advice Amy, I'm gutted; I thought losing my mucus plug would be a sure fire sign! It was last time! Eww don't want to think about it regrowing!
Kantha, your story is a bit more encouraging! very strange they said you were 1cm after being told 3cm though..? Maybe the first one was wrong..maybe mine was wrong too since nothings happening!
lol'ing at snuggly newborn meconium head Twiglet! My DD had a meconium in the waters too I'm just glad my waters didn't go in a public place and people would have thought I'd poo'd myself!

My mum has had to go back home since nothing was happening here. She offered to take DD with her so that we didn't have to worry about babysitting if I do need to go to the hospital quickly over the weekend. I'm worried I'll miss DD too much at this emotional time but equally, me and DH haven't had a weekend in the house ourselves for 4 years so its got its benefits! Incidentally, its still safe to DTD after losing the mucus plug isn't it? Its only if the waters go it wouldn't be a good idea? It sounds totally gross but my DH says he doesn't mind and again, it was what worked for us last time!

ladydolly · 14/11/2014 21:08

toniwol saz anything after your sweeps? I'm having very irregular painful tightenings. Before now I've just had the tightening but now then pain is like period pain, low down but not that bad and nothing in my back so guessing its more BH? Still haven't lost my plug. Another sweep booked for tomorrow.

Any news from Hopeful83? She's the only one left due before me.

ark welcome to matleave!! Its taken me 3 weeks to get bored but I guess you've still got a lot to do that will keep you occupied?

hedgehog Hope yours come to something! Good luck!!

DrBlondie · 14/11/2014 21:21

More babies, congratulations! And promising things for some others, exciting stuff - good luck all!

Arkkorox, my last day at work today too! Hello maternity leave, yay! Got some bits planned for next week but nothing that can't be cancelled if baby comes sooner Grin What's everyone been doing with their maternity leave?

Arkkorox · 14/11/2014 21:22

Ladydolly - Well ive only got 10 days till my EDD so Im hoping ive got enough stuff to keep me occupied till baby comes. Still got the nursery to finish and various people to have coffee with! Waiting for the new washing machine to be ordered so I can wash everything like a manic person.

Sazhoopz · 14/11/2014 21:32

ladydolly Nothing major to report, can feel him pushing down more which is uncomfortable more than anything. I think I might be having some tightenings as well but that could be due to the massive pizza I've just had!
