Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Congratulations to Cat
Seems it was a total false alarm and our unborn child is being a total womb-tease.
Had midwife today and she said I'm displaying all the usual signs for a first timer, and that it's v unlikely that baby will come in the next 2-3 days, couldn't do a proper sweep as I'm not open enough so just gave it a twiddle, and has booked me in for another (attempt) sweep on Thursday, with induction booked for Sunday. GAAAHHHHHH feel totally let down!!!
This child is getting no Christmas presents from me if it doesn't come soon!! I wouldn't mind too much but couldn't sleep from excitement last night and had big cramps that I thought was the beginning of something. Now I know it was all in vain.
Grumble grumble

hotfuzzra · 01/12/2014 12:41

Ark love the idea of practising nappy changes on the dog!! Think mine would be happy with a bit of a fuss but would rip it off as soon as I stopped stroking!

Arkkorox · 01/12/2014 13:14

Oh no Hotfuzzra!!!

How dissapointing! Hope the sweep on thursday gets things moving, Im really hoping the midwife can do a sweep tomorrow.

Thehedgehogsong · 01/12/2014 13:54

hotfuzzra that's so frustrating! These labour-teasing babies will be in trouble when (if?) they come out!

Arkk I don't really want to push things along, just want to let the baby come when it's ready. It's frustrating waiting, but I had such an awful induction last time and I'm not sure that the sweep I had wasn't the reason things went badly. I was a little bit tempted to hurry things up but then I thought I'm not changing my mind now after being so sure the whole pregnancy to be completely natural this time Smile

Strawberryfield12 · 01/12/2014 16:11

I'm with you hedgehog, appointment tomorrow and will decline it as well. Haven't heard about any baby staying inside for ever, so don't think I will be the first one to hit the Guiness record book. I am enough of control freak in other areas of life (willingly and not so much) that I would rather let this one go its own course.
Would like the baby come sooner than later, but I am sure she will be here before Xmas even without a sweep. I am saying to myself that I had good enough baby and body to have a decent and enjoyable pregnancy all 9 months, so I should be entitled to believe that they both will be on the same high standard to finish this adventure off. Wink

Strawberryfield12 · 01/12/2014 16:19

Well, I will confess that last week I have been having some of the pregnancy symptoms they were promising since month 3 or so. I finally have heartburn every night and it takes about 2-3 glasses of milk to get it sorted. Haven't had any medicines all these months so trying not to give in at the very end... But yeah, admit that I sound like a barrel full of beer after drinking all that milk, clonk, clank.

excitedforbaba · 01/12/2014 17:13

Hi all well I made it back, not so much in one piece yet but one day I hope to return to my former self!

I have a daughter! She is absolutely beautiful and perfect in every way! Born on Friday 28th via EMCS after a failed induction.

Congratulations to you all on the new arrivals took me a while to catch up as hospital had poor signal! Those of you who are still waiting now I'm on the other side I can say do be patient as I think letting things happen as naturally as possible would have made my situation a lot lot more easier but the main thing is she arrived safe and sound

Thehedgehogsong · 01/12/2014 17:52

Congratulations excited!! Lovely news!

Strawberryfield12 · 01/12/2014 18:14

Great news excited!

Arkkorox · 01/12/2014 18:20

Congrats Excited!!!

I think Im going to take the sweep if I can tomorrow. Being stuck in the house is quite litteraly driving me insane. And my partner wont put a new battery in my car till shes here as hes so worried about something happening to both of us in an accident ( hes a big sap but right now I hate him a bit lol)

Plus every day does bring me a bit closer to dressing the dog up. I may have already put some (second hand and going in the bin cause they were mank) socks on all 4 of her feet and got her to run up the hallway for my amusement.

Seriously its baby or Rspca!

Ihatechoosingausername · 01/12/2014 18:22

Congrats excitedforbaba

I think I had my induction the same day as you (Tuesday) DD didn't arrive until Thursday morning... weighing 10lb 4oz! (That bloody hurt some!)

Arkkorox · 01/12/2014 18:27

Oh my god Ihate..... ten bloody pounds?!

Ok now Im officialy scared lol.

Ihatechoosingausername · 01/12/2014 19:13

Arkkorox It was horrible but quite exciting looking back. I'd do it again! Hope that's encouraging :)

Thehedgehogsong · 01/12/2014 19:18

10lbs!! well done Ihate!

I'm feeling so sick and crampy I can't eat at all. Midwife was not at all concerned today about my feeling crap! Barely looked up from her PC...

Arkkorox · 01/12/2014 20:06

You should have been sick on her Hedgehog, then she would have looked up!

Maybe its the begining of things!

Arkkorox · 01/12/2014 20:08

Ihate..... not sure about comforting! lol Mine measured at 8lbs 3 a week ago so I want her out asap before she gets to 10lbs lol

Thehedgehogsong · 01/12/2014 20:52

I wish I had been sick on her, I think if I aimed for her Pc it would've woken her up a bit! This will be the billionth time exaggeration that I'm thinking this could be it. I just feel so awful! But I did eat a whole bag of party mix today, maybe that's all it is.

Arkkorox · 01/12/2014 21:14

Ive just eaten too much chocolate... im hoping thats why Im feeling sick lol

Getyourflipflopson · 02/12/2014 12:40

If it's any consolation, ds was 10lb 3oz, and I didn't have any stitches as my body did all the pushing without me! Was a bit of a surprise,as half an hour before, the midwife had measured me as only 5cm. I read that your body won't grow a baby that you can't push out, so try not to worry too much.

Strawberryfield12 · 02/12/2014 15:01

getyourflipflops great to read your post while sat on a waiting bench and feeling that baby getting heavier!

Arkkorox · 02/12/2014 15:42

Baby feels like shes about to fall out whenever I stand up. Someone reassure me that she wont lol!

Dizzylizzie29 · 02/12/2014 16:06

I wish they did! Sounds like head is really pushing on your cervix which could only be a good think X

Dizzylizzie29 · 02/12/2014 16:06

Thing**

Arkkorox · 02/12/2014 16:48

I just want her here so much now! All the kicks are much lower than they have been previously. Pleeeeasse be on your way baby!

Hedgehog all okay? Still hanging in there or are you off having your baby?

Thehedgehogsong · 02/12/2014 17:46

I'm still here Sad just miserable and terrible company! I'm contracting day and night but I have a strong pain in my hip bone which makes me think the baby is posterior, hence why I'm not progressing. I've had the runs all day, been so emotional and grumpy, and in pain, just want to feel better! I don't mind if the baby doesn't come yet just as long as the pain stops!
