havent take everything, including the car seat for baby to come home in.

It's my due date tomorrow! Finally!!

Well it is all change here! Had a scan to ensure all OK for out patient induction and have ended up being kept in to keep an eye on him as the Sonographer reckons he is 11 lbs 9 oz and I am 3 cm dilated on my own. It has been a bit scary and a bit shocking but all is OK and midwives are amazing. When they gave me my internal to put the pessary tampon thing in they gave me gas and air. Didn't do the tampon as I was 3 cm gone already and gas and air is amazing. We will just have to see what happens overnight. x

Wow catg!! Lucky they scanned you, sounds like it's going well, thinking of you.

haven't the best things I took with me were lip balm (breathing through contractions dried lips out), drink with straw so dp could hold while I drank, jelly babies to keep energy up but easy to eat and my kindle because it took HOURS for anything to happen and was a little boring.

Sammy congrats!! I have childbirth envy!! Sounds amazing!!

Thanks all. Bugger all else happening now. Just had the consultant come and remind me that a c section is an option
I am just sitting in ante natal ward waiting to go down to the labour ward where they are going to break my waters and we go from there. One step at a time and we will see how it goes. My OH has taken to telling me "you don't need to be a hero".

Good luck catg. When I had my scan yesterday the sonographer said they are not very accurate at predicting weight at this late stage.

I'm back in the hospital, been monitored and I'm having contractions 5 mins apart so they have taken out the peassary and can't give me anything else at the moment as it could cause over stimulation so may have to just wait and see what happens. They can't break my waters as cervix is still closed at the top. Didn't release that I was having contractions really, just feels like strong pains my back and have to poke the top of my stomach and see if it's hard! Haven't got a clue what I'm doing really or what to expect!

Caz- right back at you. How was your night in?

I must have slept because I just woke up but I don't feel like it. I think I dropped off about 2 and woke back up now 5.30 so 3 1/2 hours sleep to do the hardest work I have ever done. Rubbish. No change over night. Some grumbley period pains and lots of.bloody mucus buy nowt else. We will see what today brings.

After a very quick labour and a little bit of foreceps help due to her heart rate dipping with eah contraction, Poppy was born at 9.31 yesterday morning at 41 weeks. She is perfect, and we are very in love!

I had a very similar night to you catg, couple of hours sleep and now worried about how I'm going to give birth and look after a new born after not much sleep. Dh didn't sleep at all so he's gone out to the car for a nap. Contractions gone, just a few period pains. Had another meltdown about induction and long chat with midwife.

Maybe a cup of tea and food will help!

I don't even feel relaxed enough here to release my bowels let alone have a baby!

How's it going Caz and catg? I feel quite like you Caz - wouldn't know if I'm having contractions or not, but my bump does go rock solid sometimes, but I only know this when I put my hand on my bump - can't feel it otherwise if that makes sense? Also get back pain and pain right underneath my bump (bit like period pain). DH keeps saying "Are you having a contraction?" and I'm like, "I've got no idea!"....When I mentioned this to the MW when she did my sweep on Tuesday, she laughed at me and said I'd know when I was having contractions - quote: "It's like an elephant sitting on your head - you'd know it was happening" .....

Due date today and I'm in the garage packing for our house move. Hope all the moving about will get the baby moving. My waters went on my due date last time and I had to be induced. Will be a weird feeling to go over, but they did bring my due date forward by 5 days so it wouldn't be too surprising I guess. I'm the last one on the list so everyone is either with baby or overdue now!

Yeah, hedgehog here we are all overdue... My baby doesn't even have a head engaged yet, but at least lying in a very good position otherwise. We are going for walks etc., but up to this point it hasn't caused any stir here. Apart from me started to have naps this week. I finally seem to start feeling what it means to be properly pregnant...
Might as well get out in a garden and do some stuff

It can't be long for you Strawberry! Keeping busy might be a good idea. I'm scared of our garden. I gave up mowing the grass at about 30 weeks pregnant and haven't done anything out there since...! Poor people buying our house will have a shock!

Hedgehog MW scheduled appointment in case I am in one piece next week and I realised that it is rather realistic I might even have a December baby after all. Hope not because I start to get bored being "not too far from home just in case" and all that. There is so much reading of books and magazines one can do...

I'm becoming resigned to a December baby too. My appointment is Monday. Are you having sweeps? I've turned them all down, but I expect my family will start suggesting I have one if baby isn't here by Monday!

I'm with you Strawberry and Hedgehog...9 days overdue today and induction now booked in for Sunday morning (have got a bit fed up waiting so it's actually quite re-assuring to know there's a date for the "beginning of the end" if you get me).

It's my birthday on Monday and although my DH is quite bothered about it coming then, I'm not fussed at all by the possibility of us sharing a birthday - right now it would be the BEST present ever

I turned down as well, it doesn't look like they are massively effective unless the body is all ready and the baby would have been born soon anyway. And if this really is a case one or two days will not change anything in a bigger scheme of things. And I dont want to stress myself out with expecting something to happen and then find out that it hasn't worked and all I can do is another sweep.

Havent shared birthday would be great! We were betting if the baby would come day early and share DH birthday, not this time... :)

I am a bit concerned about how and when the labour will start as up to now there haven't been any signs at all. If it starts and goes all the way to the end I will be saying that I am such a lucky person to be saved from all sort of signs before the birth. But it after days it only starts slowly to kick off and does not progress properly...

I'm also 40+2 tomorrow. Finding it harder to sleep now with big bump x
