Thanks for all the lovely messages. Not sure how on earth I am going to sleep tonight, but at least it will not be too long until we meet baby.

Thanks for the links Thisis, will have a read now.

Thisisimpossible · 25/11/2014 18:10

cat I'll join you in the hormone madness. I just cried my eyes out at the Freeview singing toys advert where they're all left unwanted after a jumble sale.

I keep catching DP sneaking glances at me when there's something vaguely sad on the TV. He thinks all the sudden random blubbing is hysterical!

Arkkorox · 25/11/2014 18:33

Catg83 - I cried earlier cause the tapir at the zoo had her baby and I still haven't had mine :(

And cause I think baby has moved even further down and I can't really walk properly!

catg83 · 25/11/2014 18:48

Want some real blubs? Try the following. My OH sent it to me to try and get some oxytocin going.
Ashland's Song - Peter Hollens - Original:

Thisisimpossible · 25/11/2014 19:03

Oh God Cat. Proper blubbing here and guess who's about to walk through the door!

ark I totally get that. On Friday I went to the MLU for an appointment and there was a lady in the kitchen in her dressing gown with her brand new baby and I cried my eyes out for exactly that reason.

haventgotaclue1 · 25/11/2014 19:24

Ark I'm with you on the not being able to walk properly bit too - it's now getting ridiculous, especially when I get up after having been bouncing on my ball for a bit. I can't stand up straight; have to put my hand under bump to support it; and then I can only shuffle - it is really painful...once I get going, it's better, but this had better be a sign!

Thisis, think I'm joining you on the "brown snot" front Grin - but not sure if it's simply because of the sweep I had this morning, and it'll stop once things have calmed down a bit (feel a little sore at the mo), or if it's the real deal so to speak...

I think I must be a hormone-free zone - no crying gone on here at all - except for one episode in my entire pregnancy when I'd just had enough and ended up curled up in the corner of the kitchen balling my eyes out....Hmm

haventgotaclue1 · 25/11/2014 19:35

Oh Ark, just wanted to say I'll be thinking of you tomorrow. These things are never easy, but I'm sure you'll do fantastically well Thanks

Arkkorox · 25/11/2014 19:43

Thank you Havent, just hope it goes as well as it can do for my dads sake more than anything. Last thing he needs is anymore stress.

Just realised I have nothing to wear! Confused

ladydolly · 25/11/2014 19:59

oh god the hormones... when dp left me and dd the lobby of the hospital to get the car by the time he came back I was sobbing because dd was going home for the first time.

and now I"m weeping again because I thought about that.

I am completely unstable!!

CazY777 · 25/11/2014 21:24

Thanks everyone for your messages of support, much appreciated Smile.

Did end up going to the hospital, as was told I'd be considered 'at risk' if I didn't at least go in for monitoring. I couldn't speak to the midwife, she had to get dh to persuade me to come in. When I got here they said I may be able to have the out patients induction, if I had a scan to check on the fluid levels. Babies weight estimated as 9 pounds from the scan (though they did say it's not very accurate at this stage and is probably an overestimate) so thought it best to have the induction now. Its taken from 11am to now to get this sorted out, I was very close to just going home about an hour ago but there was a change of shifts and a nice new midwife, so have just had pessary put in and am being monitored, then have to walk around for an hour or so, have more monitoring then I can go home for 24 hours (unless something happens). She seemed to think that I might need more than just this to get things going as my cervix is still closed. Can't wait for all of this to be over, I know I've got loads more to come but at least I should hopefully be in labour fairly soon

CazY777 · 25/11/2014 21:30

Good luck to everyone else who's in labour or about to be induced Flowers

Thisisimpossible · 26/11/2014 02:24

Ooh, I think my waters have just gone! Got up to go to the loo, finished having a wee, went to stand up and bingo! Pretty sure it wasn't just the plug, the remainder of the plug was there but most of it was much more liquid. MW says to wait 30 mins to check baby's moving and ring her back. We apparently need to go and get it checked for meconium. Think contractions may be starting as I type this. About time!

I woke DP up to tell him and he's already gone back to sleep!

TwigletFiend · 26/11/2014 05:17

How exciting, thisis! Hope you are making progress!

RumAppleGinger · 26/11/2014 05:33

Hello, room for one more? I recognise some names from the pre threads, and 39 weeks thread.

I had DS2 last night after a pretty quick labour and haven't been able to sleep yet as I'm still too high :) hoping to get the all clear in the morning to take him home to meet his big brother.

Any other second timers finding the after pains almost as bad as the contractions? Sure they weren't this bad first time round!

catg83 · 26/11/2014 07:45

Hi Rum- there is a post natal thread somewhere so it might be worth checking in there too. Congratulations on your new arrival.

I am just off to the hospital for this outpatient induction. I cannot wait. Never thought I would say that about a pessary! I really don't want to have to stay in hospital if we don't have to so hopefully will be home in a few hours. x

catg83 · 26/11/2014 07:45

Go thisis Go! Good luck. x

Arkkorox · 26/11/2014 08:13

Eee! Good luck girls!

I shall be here....

... Still pregnant.... Lol

CazY777 · 26/11/2014 09:56

Good luck thisis and catg. I'm at home waiting for something to happen, just feel heavy and constipated at the mo!

Dizzylizzie29 · 26/11/2014 09:58

Becoming increasingly bad tempered. Sweep tomorrow then induced on Monday if nothing. No meaningful signs whatsoever. Can you request further sweeps? Would
Prefer that over Induction x

Strawberryfield12 · 26/11/2014 12:17

Had MW appointment yesterday and according to the policy was offered a sweep. Asked about the effectiveness of the same and was told that it is about 30%, so I guess should not put too much hope on it... So decided not to bother, that baby will come out sooner or later herself.

ladydolly · 26/11/2014 14:38

I was given a stat of about 60-70% success?

dizzy It depends on the area I think, they wouldn't give me a 3rd without consultant sign off but my sister got 3 no questions in a different county.

Dizzylizzie29 · 26/11/2014 14:41

I had one at 40 +4 last time which did the job. Praying that tomorrow will kick things off. Good luck to everyone still waiting and in labour X

Dizzylizzie29 · 26/11/2014 14:42

Or it could have just been the timing, abit gutted this pregnancy is now longer than my last :-(

Sammijay84 · 26/11/2014 16:56

I've had a little girl SmileGrinEnvyThanks

Scarlett Esmae was born on Sunday 23rd at 9.49pm. Water birth..... simply the best thing ever!!!!!! I can honestly say I'd do it again tomorrow if I had to. Arrived at the MLU at 5.40pm and out popped my beautiful princess 4 hours later. I was on paracetamol up til 7pm when I gave in and had gas & air then got into the birthing pool at around 8pm. I'm still on cloud 9!!!
Unfortunately Scarlett's temperature dropped quite low and she was full of mucus so was vomiting quite a lot, so we had to be taken through to the main hospital via ambulance at 4am Monday morning and stayed in til yesterday Sad but all is well now Smile

Good luck to everyone still waiting!!!!

haventgotaclue1 · 26/11/2014 17:08

Great news Sammijay Grin and I think the first water birth in November??? Really pleased everything is OK now Thanks.

Induction booked in for 7.30am Sunday....have been told to take a pillow, but am assuming I'll also need to take my hospital bag and stuff with me? Anyone (left!) who has experience of this and can offer some advice?
