erxcited what time did you get the gel? it took me 8 hours to get mild contractions but then only about 3 more hours to get them 'proper'. Hope its all kicking off now!! good luck!!

excitedforbaba · 25/11/2014 05:27

Lady got it around 10.30 few pains and tightening in the 2 hours after then nothing! I'm sure by now u can imagine my disappointment!
Haven't had much sleep lots of pressure pains and tightenings now they are big ones but not to bad pain wise! Will hopefully have some good news from the morning rounds!
After being this overdue I think I was secretly hoping it would have all kicked off straight away... I'm going to have to ask someone to bring me some patience today along with some more chocolate Confused

catg83 · 25/11/2014 08:36

So this baby has 24 hours before induction eviction! I am going to treat today as the last day of not being a mummy so am going to for a leisurely stroll to get a coffee and go to the cinema tonight. And now after 2 weeks of being fed up of waiting I have woken up with a bit of a "what have I signed up for?" vibe.

haventgotaclue1 · 25/11/2014 08:50

Good luck excited - hope it all kicks off soon (if it hasn't done so already!).

Like your thinking catg, reckon you've got the right idea.

I've got the MW coming round in 15 mins to do the 1st sweep (41 weeks today)...only just woken up!!! EEEKKKKKKKK

CazY777 · 25/11/2014 09:04

I've had a major meltdown about being induced. Went for monitoring at the hospital yesterday and then it turned into me coming in for an induction today. Not because anything was wrong with the baby, but because of dates and availablity of private room. Couldn't stop crying at hospital and didn't sleep very well so haven't gone. The midwife rang and said she would talk to her colleagues about options and get back to me. Feel like a complete idiot and that I've let everyone down, told our parents and the dog has gone to my step-daughters.

haventgotaclue1 · 25/11/2014 10:23

Oh Caz - thinking of you Thanks, Brew, Cake.

I'm still waiting for MW to turn up to do this sweep....1 hour 23 mins late so far....have rung her and left a message to check she hasn't forgotten about me!!!

OhMjh · 25/11/2014 11:05

Good luck to you all today!

Things seem to be kicking off here after my third sweep yesterday morning - my waters went at 2am and I've been having some pretty nasty contractions since along with constant gushing fluid!

Thehedgehogsong · 25/11/2014 11:21

Caz remember it's your choice and you can say no at any point! Good luck today, and you too OhMJh!

Thisisimpossible · 25/11/2014 11:30

Caz have a big hug. And OhMJH good luck!

haventgotaclue1 · 25/11/2014 11:35

How exciting OhMjh! Fingers crossed for you Grin

Well the MW has just left having down the 1st sweep. Went ok - got worked up about not a lot tbh - as some of you said, it was a bit uncomfortable, but nothing like my imagination thought it would be Smile. Got another one booked for Saturday and then induction for Sunday / Monday...only slightly annoying as Monday's my birthday and for some reason still wanted to be 38, not 39 when I have this bean! Oh well, I'll get over it Wink

ladydolly · 25/11/2014 11:40

caz I feel for you but you've done the right thing. If you went today you'd have felt stressed and angry and is that how you want to feel bringing your baby into the world? I have a huge amount of respect for you, well done. It's not about resources its about whats best for you and baby and you've shown them that!!

ladydolly · 25/11/2014 11:47

haven't and ohmj good luck!!! exciting times!!

Just wanted to say again, my induction was really well handled, I felt listened to and relaxed and happy I made the right decision for me and my baby. I know it ended in a section but that would have happened regardless, in fact if I'd been in mlu there could have been more serious problems. Just to give the flip side for those who are potentially being induced, it can be lovely.

Right, come on November babies, time to join the party!!

Arkkorox · 25/11/2014 12:01

2 days overdue and im BORED! Had some bizzare dream that I had had baby not noticed but I felt like I really wasnt pregnant anymore, then the hospital had her but I couldnt collect her cause I didnt have the right bra.

Seriously losing the plot!

catg83 · 25/11/2014 12:01

Ohmj- good luck. Thinking of you.

I have managed to make a doozy of a mistake. My induction was supposed to be this morning at 8.30. I had written down tomorrow and that is what I have told the world. Nope, in my notes it was this morning. Had a phone call about 45 mins ago from the midwife asking if I had had my baby. Queue hysterical crying and panic. They have managed to fit me in tomorrow morning as someone else has had their baby. I just feel like an idiot. I have dyslexia which does effect things like this but I thought for something this important I could get it right. x

NovemberRainbow · 25/11/2014 12:12

Hi all, very late joining. Being induced tomorrow at 40+12.

Very scared and thinking it will end up as an EMCS, have asked for an ELCS instead but they have refused.

Baby has been transverse for the majority of pregnancy, midwife thinks baby is now head down. But head seems to be on my hip, midwife is hoping it moves down when waters are broken.

Congratulations to all those with arrivals Thanks

And good luck for tomorrow catg83.

Strawberryfield12 · 25/11/2014 12:14

Caz you are not an idiot, you and your baby are the only protagonists in this "story" and you are the one who knows best what and when is the right thing for you both. If you were not ready for it, it was the right thing to leave. Can only join Lady that I feel huge respect for you!

ladydolly · 25/11/2014 12:36

catg I did that with mybsweep apt, there's a lot going on at the moment for us! Easily done and no harm in the end ?

November I had this and the midwife and consultant manoevered her into place as my waters went, perhaps they can do that for you too. I did end up with a section but not really because of that (and while it was a bit dramatic it wasn't like something from casualty or anything and I was still awake for her arrival) Try not to dwell on it.

Thisisimpossible · 25/11/2014 12:57

Hi Caz, sorry I was in the car earlier and unable to write more, but I truly think you absolutely did the right thing by trusting your gut instinct. It was very brave and you deserve a big pat on the back for trusting yourself. Have faith that it will all unfold as it is meant to, however it ends up.

I am very excited. I have just found brown snot in my knickers!! Hooray! Hoping this means that things are starting and that I can avoid the induction booked for Thursday, but it's going to have to get a wiggle on!

haventgotaclue1 · 25/11/2014 13:12

Thisis: "I have just found brown snot in met knickers!!"....made me lol Grin - the things that now get us excited eh?! Wink. Seriously though, hope it is all about to kick off for you.

November and catg - loads of luck for tomorrow. Will be thinking of you both Thanks

Thisisimpossible · 25/11/2014 13:20

Exactly Haven't ! It's all glamour these days. Gone are the mundane excitements of yesterday. I realised that my boobs were leaking very slightly this morning too. Oh, the joy!

Thisisimpossible · 25/11/2014 13:25

Good luck Cat and November Flowers

Strawberryfield12 · 25/11/2014 13:54

Thisis Grin

Thehedgehogsong · 25/11/2014 14:07

Hi november I hope your induction goes well Smile super exciting to know baby is coming at some point from tomorrow no matter what!

I've been marching around town shopping, taking DD on play dates, and jiggling about. This baby will come out soon!!

catg83 · 25/11/2014 15:42

Thanks to everybody for their supportive words.
Hormones are go here. Just cried at a Waitrose advert about a girl making gingerbread. X

Thisisimpossible · 25/11/2014 16:28

A couple of useful Acupressure articles/pdfs I've found on the internet for inducing labour - caveated that I am not a doctor or qualified to advise on anything like this, so use at your own discretion, and they are only to be used post 40 weeks but I think we're all there pretty much. I've been using a few of the ones in the first link and my back and tummy are certainly tightening.
