Twiglet Im so lucky my boy is on full livery and I share him with my mum!

Im just worried about missing out on stuff, but Im gonna guess that when baby is actually here my priorities will change slightly lol ...

catg83 · 23/11/2014 17:34

Congratulations Eastmids. Hope your recovery goes well. X

excitedforbaba · 23/11/2014 19:07

Congratulations eastmids
still no news from Amy, can only mean 1 thing!!

Ark I'm anxious to know how long ill be in hospital for too, I'm such a home- bird I love my own bed even though I can't get comfy in it for me it's the not knowing how long ill be there before things get going. If everything is ok with the baby and me after labour i could get home the same day but if I need a section it's at least 2 days after.

No signs of movement here at all, cleaning house all day today hoping to kick start something but no! So dinner xfactor bath and bed is the plan for tonight!

haventgotaclue1 · 23/11/2014 21:13

Wow Horis Grin!!!!! That must be the fastest labour ever! Hope all's well with your little boy now....I'm STILL waiting...

Many Congratulations to you as well Eastmids

Petal26 · 23/11/2014 21:55

Hi ladies, congratulations on the new arrivals.

DS arrived yesterday on the 22nd at 6:01am.
Contractions started at 8am on Thursday, every 10 minutes so I called DH back from work. We sent DD to MILs at lunchtime and took the dog out to try and speed things up. Went to the midwife led unit at our hospital at tea time as the contractions were speeding up and spent a few hours there. After two very painful examinations we were sent home, only a couple of cm. Contractions carried on at least every 10 minutes during the night, stayed in bed most of the day, struggling but knew they needed to be more painful, went back in to the delivery suite/triage on Friday evening instead as was tired and considering epidural again by this point. Got admitted as was now 4cm.
Ummed and ahhed about an epidural but I saw this birth heading in a similar way to DDs which took a while so asked for one and got one straight away. Was fully dilated by about 2am I think, midwife suggested waiting full 2 hours to start pushing then pushed for an hour before doctor was called in. DS was not laid head up/down, he was sideways, so was told I needed to go to theatre to have a 'trial birth' and forceps needed to be used to turn him. Had to sign consent for a cesarean before we went in case it didn't work. Got a bit scary quite quickly so glad I was in the delivery suite rather than the midwife led unit in the end. The forceps combined with me pushing worked and luckily I didn't need a cesarean. Just a small tear apparently (aching a lot now)
Home last night, hope everyone else's babies arrive soon and don't keep you waiting too long. Both of mine were now officially 13 days late and needed help arriving, too comfy!

Thisisimpossible · 23/11/2014 23:18

Hi guys
Many many congratulations to all of you who've successfully given birth to your gorgeous babies. I'm on the phone so struggling to scroll back to find everyone so please forgive me for not mentioning you all individually.

40+9 today. We have until Thurs to deliver in the MLU, induction in the hospital (boooo) on Friday if not. Tried to delay the induction option but the midwife went on about increased risk and I felt so bad that I backed down. It's so difficult. I really don't want to be induced, but if I held out and something happened I just couldn't live with myself. Having said that there's as much of an argument against induction. Regardless, If I don't stop stressing there's no way it'll pop out by Thursday so I'm going to have to make a massive effort to relax! Was hoping things would have moved on from Friday where cervix was softening and funnel shaped but still closed, but no change despite walking miles, so a sweep wasn't possible.

Keeping everything crossed that things get moving ASAP.

excitedforbaba · 23/11/2014 23:29

Congratulations petal :)

This is - I could have write some of your post I feel the same, apprehensive about induction but couldn't live with myself if I delayed more than the 10 days and anything happened. So anxious that baby will be safe and healthy as it is never mind the added wait for it to happen on its own!
Also terrified of induction failing and needing a section but I'm in the mind set now that whatever it takes to get baby here safely they can work away.

Ihatechoosingausername · 24/11/2014 01:07

excitedforbaba When's your induction?

excitedforbaba · 24/11/2014 01:24

Tomorrow for Tuesday
although it's after midnight so technically tonight! Hmm
I don't no wether to hide under the quilt and cry or jump up and down and squeal with excitement
Been having a few pains from I came to bed so hopefully something is going to start by itself!
just witnessed a limb of some description actually poking up out of my bump and moving down the way! bloody hurt too!

haventgotaclue1 · 24/11/2014 07:54

Congratulations Petal! Thanks - will update the list when I get onto the laptop & out of bed

Hope everyone else is doing ok - Amy am assuming you're "busy" as been v quiet? ...... Smile

Thisisimpossible · 24/11/2014 08:13

Good luck excited. I totally get your excited/wanting to cry thing. I hope it all goes smoothly and can't wait to hear your news Smile

Amy hope all is good with you Smile

excitedforbaba · 24/11/2014 08:35

Thank u so much This is I feel really relaxed today! Although I think that may change as admission time gets closer! Will be stalking MN all night as I don't think I'll be able to get any sleep tonight at all!

hotfuzzra · 24/11/2014 08:43

Still here and quietly lurking.
Congratulations to new babies, everyone who is overdue I hope your babies come quickly.
Today is my due date, been having tightenings all morning which have woken me up but no pain and no other signs so I'm thinking they're just practice and hoping I don't have the full two weeks' wait. Sad

Thinking of you all Good luck Thanks

CazY777 · 24/11/2014 10:15

Thisis and excited, I'm having exactly the same thoughts. Having decided not to be induced at 40 weeks as the consultant suggested, and going for monitoring instead, I'm now 40+11 according to scan dates and thinking of agreeing to be induced on Thursday. I really don't want to but I couldn't bear anything happening to her after all this time, even though the monitoring has all been completely fine and normal and I feel her move a lot. Also, as soon as I get to 40+13 the birth I wanted goes out the window so I feel like I might as well go for the induction and get it over with, as my only option will be the hospital. Also, really want her in my arms now!

Was getting pains last night and couldn't sleep, hoping that it was happening at last but again they went away! Worried that if I do get induced that the pains will come on too strong and I won't be able to cope with it.

catg83 · 24/11/2014 10:15

Congratulations Petal. That sounds like a long process and so happy for you. Well done.

Good luck to those having inductions in the next few days. I know exactly how you feel. Induction is not what I had in mind but have a feeling that by Wednesday morning (when I am booked in for outpatient induction) I will be begging for intervention! 40+11 today and counting.

Greenstone · 24/11/2014 10:38

Congrats to all with new arrivals!Flowers hope you are all feeling ok. Come over to the postnatal thread whenever you feel up to it Smile

excitedforbaba · 24/11/2014 10:39

caz it's crazy the thoughts we do have! Wishing away the pregnancy so we can meet baby asap then getting an Induction date and considering holding off another wee wile to see do they appear themselves!

I really thought last night was me away myself even though it bloody hurt i was so excited but again got my hopes up and nothing! I'm also terrified the pains from induction will be awful but as I have nothing to compare it to I guess I'll be none the wiser!

Having a "spring" clean of the house today want it all nice for coming home and hoping the movement will start something!

Any recommendations of things you all wish you had of done before going into hospital to have baby to make llifestyle bit easier when u come home?

excitedforbaba · 24/11/2014 10:40

Sorry that should say to make life a bit easier when you come home!

Arkkorox · 24/11/2014 10:51

Its D day! ....and no sign of madam making an appearance. I know I cant really complain having only known ive even been preggers for 5 weeks but I am bored of it now. I want baby here!

Hope Induction goes well Excitedforbaba. Today I will mostly be washing the last bunch of baby clothes and having a tidy up... when I get off the sofa. Im not allowed to text my parnter while hes at work now cause it keeps making him panic haha.

catg83 · 24/11/2014 10:55

Excited- I have been putting fresh sheets on the bed more regularly than usual in case I go into labour. Love getting into clean sheets. Also other mummies have told me knowing there is a stash of instant food in the fridge/freezer/cupboard helps a lot. So we have a few oven pizzas in the freezer, some tortellini that cooks in 5 mins, gnocchi and pesto and batch cooked chilli etc ready to go.

TwigletFiend · 24/11/2014 10:58

Excited, batch cooking is a necessity! No way I could cook meals from scratch at the moment! Having something in the freezer that you can just whack in the oven is a life saver.

Congratulations, those with new babies! And good luck to those still waiting, fingers crossed for straightforward births for you all.

CazY777 · 24/11/2014 11:05

excited, my head is all over the place about this, getting really upset some days and other days I'm fine. My husband said to me on Saturday can we just turn up at the hospital and ask for an induction, I was really so crap! I'm sure I'll be fine once I'm there and getting on with it.

CazY777 · 24/11/2014 11:06

Feeling so crap I mean!
