Vijac amazing news! This is the first day we get news about three babies! Any more for today?
Btw today is a big size babies day!

ToniWol · 22/11/2014 17:28

Will catch up when home. However we had a little girl on Weds at 5.30pm weighing 7lb 14.5oz. She's had breathing difficulties so has been in NICU/SCBU since 5 hours old but is now improving rapidly (although would be quicker if she'd bf during the day instead of just sleeping! Having to top up with a tube so feeling like my name's Daisy!).

Didn't manage a pool birth as the hospital's only pool was in use. However used a stool and managed pain using TENS and G&A.

Thehedgehogsong · 22/11/2014 18:05

Aw lovely news Vijac and Toniwol! Hello babies :)

catg83 · 22/11/2014 18:46

toni wol- Well done, glad to hear baby is feeling better. Congratulations.

vjac- Well done, congratulations!

I am now officially fed up. I was sitting watching xfactor last week thinking "oh by next week we will have a baby to cuddle". Nope. Not yet. Had a good old cry to the PH about how I feel my body isn't doing what he is supposed to and that I have failed. He was very understanding and it helped to tell him what was going on in my head as I was starting to think I was going crazy! Have decided to have a bath and just go watch TV in bed to sulk. Nothing is comfortable. x

OhMjh · 22/11/2014 19:53

I'm the same catg83, we pin so much hope on our due dates - it was like waking up on Christmas Day only to find they'd moved it to an unknown date somewhen in the next two weeks..hopefully it isn't too long for either of us! I'm avoiding coffee with my NCT group on Monday as I'm the last to go and don't think I'll cope well with watching them all with their babies while I shove cake in my face Sad

haventgotaclue1 · 22/11/2014 20:23

Woo hoo! Congratulations Vijac and ToniWol Thanks - really glad to hear that your baby girl is rapidly improving ToniWol Smile

ohmjh- completely! I was lucky with NCT that most of them aren't due till December but one lady due on the 19th had her baby 2 days ago. I have come round a bit from the bad mood with the help of custard and the xfactor.

amy83firsttimer · 22/11/2014 22:11

I think things are kicking off here. Not 100% convinced but I've phoned birth centre and started timing contractions on the app. We'll see I suppose! Wish me luck!

Horispondle · 23/11/2014 08:22

My Baby Boy arrived very suddenly yesterday afternoon. 45 mins from cleaning my kitchen cupboards and thinking maybe I'll take a couple of paracetamol to being told I'd had a boy. Was in the hospital for literally 2 mins before birth. The head was crowing before I could get my trousers off. He's only 5lb 15 and he's been taken away to Neonatal.

ToniWol · 23/11/2014 09:40

Horis- congratulations. If the staff in your neonates unit are anything like those in ours he's in good hands.

We're not sure why the breathing difficulties. Either an infection or lungs not inflating due to little Katherine Theresa not pausing between head and body being born (I think the mw should be playing cricket for England. It was a brilliant catch!). She was breathing on her own by the middle of the next day and now is just up there to make sure she's feeding properly. Keeping fingers crossed that she'll take from the breast through the day today and then they might let her come down to be with me to finish the antibiotics.

Strawberryfield12 · 23/11/2014 09:47

Horis congratulations!

Hope everything sorts out quickly and very soon you can take your jewel home!

catg83 · 23/11/2014 10:10

Massive congratulations Horis. What a story to tell him when he is older. Was this your first? Hope he gets better very soon and you get lots of cuddles. x

eastmidswarwicknightnanny · 23/11/2014 13:52

Baby James arrived by c section on 20th Nov we are now home his big brother is besotted with him. Getting sorted with breast feeding and on top of pain relief.

Congratulations to anyone else whose baby has arrived.

ladydolly · 23/11/2014 14:09

Goodness me horis, I'd still be shock!! Amazing!!

Congrats eastmids, glad you're home.

No news from amy yet, she must be busy!!

Hopefully being discharged later today, can't wait to take dd home!

I hope you're all feeling comfortable as you can, look forward to hearing more exciting arrival news!

Arkkorox · 23/11/2014 14:36

Ladies just having a think...

Obviously it entirely depends on how my labour goes and how I'm feeling/time in hospital etc but how soon do you (can you) take babies out? There's a huge amount of family things I don't want to miss out on, as well as silly things like choosing a Christmas tree etc that I don't want to miss especially as its a tree for my grandma as I promised her we would get a real one this year.

Thehedgehogsong · 23/11/2014 14:47

There's no rule arkk just whenever you are ready. As long as baby is warm and you aren't over stretching yourself, you can go out any time Smile

I'm the same. I love my town and we are having a street fair for the Xmas lights turn on and I'm worried I'll miss it! I don't mind being fresh from labour or just before labour, but not directly in labour on that day!

Annarose2014 · 23/11/2014 15:35

Any time Ark. In the US they have rules about it prior to getting shots etc but not here.

Keep in mind though, you'll be fucked. I'm Day 12 & have only been outside twice. Am still anaemic, bleeding loads, in pain from stitches & bfing constantly. I'm really not able for much, tbh. Be realistic about that.

Arkkorox · 23/11/2014 16:56

Yeah to be honest Annarose I have no idea what state I will be in. Hormones are doing one over on me tonight and I think Im upset that I might miss the christmas market and lights this year.

Im officialy fed up of being pregnant now.

TwigletFiend · 23/11/2014 17:10

As a counterbalance, ark, I have been out every day since day 2 and am mucking out my stable etc as normal already. It means I have to be flexible on times as it's almost impossible to say when I'll get places etc as it depends on DD settling down, but physically I feel absolutely fine other than being a bit unfit! After the sleep deprivation of the first 72 hours, you might be fine. I think just take each day as it comes and be prepared to say 'Maybe not today' if it's a hard night etc Smile
