Well, she's finally here! Orla Lillie arrived at 7.10 this evening by emcs and good job too - 10lb 3oz!! The midwives and consultants said I'd never have got her out!!
She's totally perfect, fed for a few hours, now sleeping soundly next to me, can't take my eyes off her.

Will be back with full story soon but inductionees don't worry, it was nothing to do with that process which was v straightforward.

excitedforbaba · 22/11/2014 00:40

Aww congratulations lady dolly such lovely news and a gorgeous name for your princess! Enjoy your first night Flowers

Ihatechoosingausername · 22/11/2014 02:01

ladydolly Congratulations! Wow what a healthy sized girl she is :)

amy83firsttimer · 22/11/2014 04:43

Congratulations ladydolly I have a lovely friend called orla so definitely approve of the name!

We had an evening of 'clearing out' and burrowing down with occasional twinges then it died down when I went to bed at about 12. Boo. Kind of hoped I'd be waking up in labour at some point in the night.

Hello! Hector Harry arrived at 12:25 today via ELCS which turned into an emcs! I had the spinal already so it was just faster than it should have been as the cord was round his neck twice. He was 9lbs 13.5oz so a chunky thing but is of course absolutely gorgeous! Spent 6 hours in recovery and now on a post natal ward dull of crying babies so I haven't slept at all. Struggling w bf so have been hand expressing into a syringe which has been productive and he's snoring again now. I'm obsessed w him!

excitedforbaba · 22/11/2014 05:14

Congratulations whenwillwe I'm getting much more jealous by the day! although totally delighted for you all!

Can u all tell who's having issues with sleep these past few nights!? Only for MN I'd probably have my house cleaned from top to bottom again! Much cosier lying in bed snooping online!

Thehedgehogsong · 22/11/2014 07:53

Congratulations lady and whenwe, lovely news! Grin

Thisisimpossible · 22/11/2014 08:28

Huge congratulations Lady and Whenwill!! Gorgeous names Smile

Had a sweep yesterday and spent the day visualising my cervix opening and the birth but nothing bar the usual evening contractions last night. Come on baby!

catg83 · 22/11/2014 09:03

Well done Lady and Whenwill. Congratulations.

40+9 today. Sigh. Spent yesterday doing lots of walking and then an evening on the ball. Nada. Think this baby is waiting for induction. X

Greenstone · 22/11/2014 09:18

Congrats guys, well done and welcome lovely babies Flowers

Sammijay84 · 22/11/2014 09:19

Awww congratulations ladies Smile I'm totally jealous, yet delighted for you both!!
40+7 today, had first sweep yesterday followed by sex (tmi?!?) as instructed by midwife......a few hours of period pain style cramps and then back to feeling absolutely fine!!! Angry

Does anyone know anything about the 'Bishop Score' as I've seen it in my notes but not been talked through it?

amy83firsttimer · 22/11/2014 09:41

Bishop score is a little like APGAR ie, points awarded for different characteristics then added up. Mine hasn't been noted down but I peeked at what she was doing and think it was 4 on Thursday. Emily Oster seems to think anything above 6 is good for going into natural labour soonish but she doesn't dwell on it as she herself only went a couple of days over. I'm sure they'll be better info on NHS website, just don't go full Dr Google!

Very many congratulations Ladydolly and Whenwillwe Grin Thanks - great news for you both - probably like some other over-duets, really pleased for you both but also slightly green-tinged!

Absolutely zero going on here (40+4)...despite sniffing on the sage oil MW gave me; having curries; long walks and DTD Blush. Am now thinking bean has inherited my (slightly) stubborn streak and will come along when it's good and ready but hoping this is before I have my 1st sweep on Tuesday

Very green with envy here. 40+12 here and I've just repacked hospital bag with induction therefore a longer stay in mind.
Parents are taking me out for a curry at 3 so fingers crossed for that working.

Thehedgehogsong · 22/11/2014 11:48

Thanks for updating havent Smile

I'm going to walk and walk and walk today. Just as soon as I stop falling asleep on the sofa...

excitedforbaba · 22/11/2014 12:08

Amy I done the same at 4am Hmm lack of sleep drove me to thinking I need extra pyjamas, vest tops etc my bag is full to bursting point!
been having major blubbering fests thinking induction will fail and I will need a section, talking it over with DP last night and between sobs managed to explain one of reasons for not wanting a section being that I only have one nightdress for labour and I'll need extra with a section! I do wonder when I'll go back to having rational thoughts again!

Getyourflipflopson · 22/11/2014 13:12

Congratulations to the new arrivals! Went for my third sweep this morning, and was 3 cm and stretchy. Went to tesco to do a little bit of shopping and my waters broke! Just trickling so I quickly finished the shopping with a very panicky DP Grin.
Have phoned labour line, and they want me back in to the d.a.u tomorrow morning if I haven't had baby by then, but have started having very mild tightenings about 20 mins apart, so hopefully will be today! 40 +1 today.

Thisisimpossible · 22/11/2014 13:21

Great news flipflops! As with the others, I am delighted for you but getting greener and greener with envy by the day!

Hope it all goes smoothly Smile

haventgotaclue1 · 22/11/2014 14:35

Ooooo! That's exciting flipflops! Good luck and keep us posted Smile

Strawberryfield12 · 22/11/2014 15:26

Congratulations lady and whenwewill!

And best of luck flipflops!

Tomorrow is my EDD... No signs, suppose our lady has decided to let us celebrate DH birthday today and have a cheeky glass of red...

Thehedgehogsong · 22/11/2014 15:26

Horray flipflops sounds exciting!! X

Vijac · 22/11/2014 15:41

Amazing, my baby has arrived. Born at home in a birthing pool. Hard work but so special too. Just under 10 pounds and came out with hand next to face but amazingly no stitching. Good luck to everyone still waiting.

Thehedgehogsong · 22/11/2014 15:44

Oh oops I put a big X, no idea why haha I'm too old for that!
