Congratulations! EDD tomorrow, shame no one told the baby that as no signs whatsoever!

excitedforbaba · 19/11/2014 20:43

Congratulations Blondie
lovely name! Flowers

Vijac · 19/11/2014 21:28

Ooh, I've just had a bloody show (sorry tmi). Please tell me this means something! Many congrats to blondie!!

catg83 · 19/11/2014 21:34

exciting Vjac. I don't think TMI exists on here to be honest. Grin

I have had some crampy period pains after the sweep but nothing else. Tiny bit of blood but bit disappointed. Hoping to wake up in the middle of the night with massive contractions. x

Sammijay84 · 19/11/2014 22:12

Hi ladies! Amy very kindly invited me over to join you guys, hope that's ok...... I think she was feeling sorry for me moaning about being 40+4 with NO SIGNS WHATSOEVER!!!!! Lol but now I've seen that some of you guys are further overdue than that so best not moan too much Shock

Thehedgehogsong · 19/11/2014 22:21

Hi Sammi :) hope things get moving for you soon!

After a nice break from contractions they're back with a vengeance tonight. Business as usual I think, pain until midnight, then sleep and wake up disappointed in the morning when it all stops...!

ladydolly · 19/11/2014 22:22

Welcome sammi and definitely moan away!!! This limbo business is hard work!!

No further contractions here :( so induction it is. I just said to dp 'this will be the last night on the sofa just the 2 of us' to which he replied 'I'm not sure I'm ready to be a parent, can she stay in there a bit longer?' I could have walloped him one!!!

catg Good luck for contractions in the night! How odd to wish you pain... ??

Sammijay84 · 19/11/2014 22:26

Lady you should have 100% cracked him one...... in the downstairs region...... with steel toecaps on!!! Lol!!
Hedgehogsonghowlong have you been having contractions for?!
Is it too much to ask for a "coronation street like" labour..... bang on time, 15 mins of contractions, 3 pushes and out pops a lovely clean healthy baby???? GrinSmile

Thisisimpossible · 19/11/2014 22:50

Lol ladydolly! I just read your post to DP and told him if we get to that stage next week and he says that, he's dead.

Welcome sammi Smile

Still having intermittent contractions and bowel appears to be emptying itself but I've given up getting excited. Am beginning to wonder whether I've just got very fat and this whole baby thing is a fairy tale.

Congrats Saz and Blondie! And good luck ladydolly and vjac

Thehedgehogsong · 19/11/2014 22:51

Sammi a couple of hours, every night (bar last night) for a week! Midwife thinks slow early labour, should mean at least the last part will be quick... But it's torture!

Strawberryfield12 · 19/11/2014 22:51

God Lady I had a similar thought tonight Blush
Baby was kicking like any other night, we were playing with her and then I said that it would be strange not to have anybody giving me a hell from inside every night. And then it downed on me that in counted days there will be a little person I will have responsibility about and it felt quite scary...

Ihatechoosingausername · 19/11/2014 22:55

Hey guys thought I'd join you as being overdue is my main topic of conversation at the mo, what with all the 'baby not here yet?' questions from friends and family (gah!)

Was due on the 13th, have a sweep arranged for tomorrow (not looking forward to it :( )

Thisisimpossible · 19/11/2014 22:56

And am I the only one wanting to smack a very smug Lenny Henry in the mouth on those Travelodge or Premier Inn adverts where he says 'There's nothing better than waking from a good night's sleep'. I would give my right arm for a night without 4+ loo trips, hip pain, wriggly baby and only being able to lie on my side. The fact that things are only going to get worse from here on in, if the baby ever arrives, does not help my feelings toward him one bit.

excitedforbaba · 19/11/2014 23:36

Welcome Sammie 40+4 today also no signs and booked in for induction next week! Going for my 3rd sweep attempt on Friday

ihatechoosing the best advice I have been given regarding a sweep is to relax.I had my eyes screwed shut on Monday and the doctor kept telling me to open them as I was tensing up, cranky me told him I didn't wana look at him! Poor man!

strawberry I'm thinking similar at the minute this small person I will be responsible for and I keep thinking do I know how to make bottles, do I know how to change a nappy aaaaaahhhh but I'm so excited I just can't wait to meet him/her now

Ihatechoosingausername · 19/11/2014 23:53

excitedforbaba Yeah I definitely need to learn how to relax. They tried a sweep on Monday but I was in a lot of pain. I'm not sure if it that was caused by being too tense or from the pelvic girdle pain i was suffering from

excitedforbaba · 19/11/2014 23:57

It's so hard to relax when people are poking about "down there" Confused but we may get used to it for actual labour!
Have they mentioned an induction date or anything if you don't go before? Our hospital offers it at 10 days over I was apprehensive at first but glad I have a date insight now

Ihatechoosingausername · 20/11/2014 00:04

excitedforbaba I'm being given gas and air this time so i'm hoping that'll take the edge off (it has however made me doubt my laboring capabilities if I need pain relief to cope with a sweep :( )
Nope not heard anything about induction dates. I haven't even been given my next antenatal appointment. I'm going to assume they'll book me in for my next one tomorrow just in case the sweep doesn't work

excitedforbaba · 20/11/2014 00:08

I might ask for some of that for Friday's attempt! I'm questioning my labour capabilities if Braxton hicks pains have me in tears or snapping at DP. I even ended up at the maternity assessment one night convinced I was in labour the pains were so bad and intense and when they announced I wasn't I had a wee cry and politely asked if they were this effing sore now what the hell actual labour pains would be like! Haha Shock

Ihatechoosingausername · 20/11/2014 00:16

BH just seem to make me feel like someone is scrunching my insides but they haven't been painful (that's if they were BH) it's all so weird how every woman's experience can differ!

and I've got to say it's a relief to hear I'm not the only one worrying about how I'm going to handle things on the day

Sazhoopz · 20/11/2014 00:17

Thanks everybody, DS2 is doing a lot better and is now with me on post natal which is great although we have to be in a few more days yet for antibiotics

excitedforbaba · 20/11/2014 00:34

Glad to hear baba is doing better saz!

I hate choosing - I think it's just one of those situations you can't imagine yourself in and I have no idea how I'm going to react to it that's what's making me nervous and the fact I'm a planner and a bit of a control freak and to go into the unknown with very little control over how things are going to go is making me a bit more anxious the closer I get!

Ihatechoosingausername · 20/11/2014 00:40

excitedforbaba i'm the same! I even have this niggling suspicion that my anxiety about the labor could be playing a part in my overdue-ness. I feel I'm somewhat ready but when I actually 'put' myself there and I have a mini panic.

excitedforbaba · 20/11/2014 01:29

I hate choosing it's so easy for people to say to stop worrying and it will happen naturally when they've either not been through it or when it's been that long ago it's a distant memory!

One way or another these remaining babies have to come out! Let's hope it's sooner rather than later for those of us who are over due, cranky and impatient

Hopefully most of you are enjoying a good sound sleep or even one or two are mid labour (I'm actually not sure which I'd be more jealous of at the minute)
