I would love a FB group, I find it much easier to follow than these threads - I went away for a week and a half and then couldn't keep up with the thread that'd been going and kind of dropped out until this new one. FB is much easier!

Did my first ever pilates class tonight, it was great. Like yoga but without all the cosmic stuff about chakras etc which, no offence to anyone, I just don't get.

For my 16wk appointment I put the pee tube on the toilet lid before bed to remind me to catch the morning's first pee in it, then stumbled in there in the middle of the night without putting the light on and sat on the tube, bruising the inside of one buttock. Could have been much worse, an inch to the left - who at the hospital would believe me when I told them how a pee pot had got itself up there?!?

Random TMI breastfeeding question - I have hairy nipples! Not like fur, but like big hairy pubic hairs that get really long. I have no idea how to get rid of them and just half heartedly trim them a bit shorter from time to time, but... what will happen when breastfeeding? Won't they go up baby's nose or something? I worry I'll attract more stares than usual in public because of the hairs too Blush Sad

BananaToast · 13/11/2014 03:56

Ha catsofa your pee lot story made me snigger!

Just spent the day fishing with DH, FIL and BIL (am still in New Zealand so it's only afternoon here) and hit some pretty choppy waves on the way out and back in - really felt the strain in my lower abdomen! Think it was ligament pain, it's the same as I get rolling over in bed sometimes. Very glad to be back on dry land now! Heading home in a few days and interested to find out how much weight I've put on in the two weeks we've been away.

Pretty sure I felt proper movement several times yesterday - felt a bit like an irregular heartbeat in my uterus. All very exciting. Haven't felt it today at all but been out at sea all day which I'm sure will have masked any subtle movement.

BonjourMinou · 13/11/2014 07:02

Hi catsofa I normally just pluck mine Blush Also they don't disturb the baby because you put pretty much the whole areola in the baby's mouth, if that makes sense, so would be nowhere near the nose. x

cinnamongreyhound · 13/11/2014 07:05

I used to pluck mine Catsofa and do now occasionally (though you're not supposed to) but baby won't notice and a member of the public is highly unlikely to get close enough to see them so don't worry!

Just catching up on this! Your bump pics are all beautiful! Im quite jealous as I still have nothing at 17+5 :( back on the anxious sofa for me til 20w scan!! I dont get much of a chance to post but still loving the thread. Have done minimal baby prep and now going to wait til after 20w but taking all these hints on prams and nappies on board!

TinyTear · 13/11/2014 08:26

I must have missed hints of prams or I would have been raving about my Uppababy Vista!

Best thing I bought for my DD and will be using it again with newbie...
Strong, sturdy, good looking, with big wheels for rugged heath paths and to go up and down stairs in train/tube stations... single handle - essential to go out with a pram and an umbrella - and height adjustable handle, good when there is 20cm between me and DH...

TinyTear · 13/11/2014 08:27

And the carrycot is suitable for overnight sleeping...

I get the odd dark soft hair just pluck it out when I notice it. Think your not supposed too as it makes them stronger and less soft. Since being pregnant with DD I do sometimes get chin whiskers though and they go the same way as nipple hair can't be having a hairy chin! DH already tells me my upper lip is long enough to plait! (He's just being cheeky as it's not too bad just needs bleaching but I can never be bothered and I'm slightly allergic to the tash bleach and it leaves me with red patches for a few hours.)

RiverRocks · 13/11/2014 08:51

DH doesn't get why I feel so huge. There's about a day difference between us, misty. I wasn't exactly skinny to start but my tummy was pretty flat, then suddenly ping there you go.

BananaToast · 13/11/2014 08:54

Gosh you can really see a difference in your pics Misty! Lovely bumps all round.

Think I may finally need to buy a bigger bra or two, mine are getting to be quite uncomfortable now. Don't want to spend too much though as I'll prob need more by the end.

Tiny the uppababy is my first choice at the moment - I've not seen a bad review of it yet!

19 + 1

Floppypotato · 13/11/2014 09:01

tinytear I'm so pleased you've mentioned the Uppababy Vista - this is the one we have plumped for!

It's the only one which ticked all our boxes!

Potentially a daft q BUT - are there "January" sales on things such as prams etc? I considering order the pram from John Lewis this week - but then hesitated as I wondered if there were such things as Christmas/Jan sales on prams..

Great bumps ladies - I will see if I dare take a pic!

TinyTear · 13/11/2014 09:13

Not sure about sales for prams, I got mine with an offer from The Baby Show as I went there the first time round...

TinyTear · 13/11/2014 09:14

but actually, our run around / holiday buggy - the Mamas & Papas Kato, which we bought to take to Portugal when DD was 7 months was on a August bank holiday sale in Mamas & papas at nearly half price... might be worth keeping an eye out...
