Squatting yes please - something about puddings in the oven?! Grin

15 weeks until I go on maternity leave - with Christmas in the middle I'm hoping that's going to go nice and fast (can you tell it's been a long week?!)

We've bought a couple of things - had an amazon voucher we needed to use so bought a baby monitor, and I had a £50 voucher than needed using for Ecostore so just ordered loads of nappies and wipes Blush

21+2

Hi Zahrah5! I'm due 30th April, my first time too, and I've not felt any movement yet. Been lying very still and concentrating, but nothing yet.

I've been buying just a few little things which are supposed to be needed for the hospital bag - found a discounted tube of Lansinoh, a £1 special offer with a voucher for a packet of Pampers newborn nappies, mostly really small practical things but also some sleep suits and vests, including a couple just because they have a character I particularly like on them (Miffy the rabbit Smile) - all £2 or so from ebay bundles. Don't think I need any more though and friends will probably give me more for xmas, so that does mean I will probably end up with too many!

I found 9 reusable nappies for £6 on ebay too, and nearly won a cot bed for £5 but came home too late to bid! I'm not at all superstitious about buying things too early, I'm just worried about where on earth we will put it all...

Hi Zahrah5! You're due on my ds1's birthday :) I got some bits yesterday not too early at all. Little outfits are fine 3-6 months. Personally because of the umbilical cord I haven't had anything with a waist band for smaller than that.

I thought that about the thread too, we're talking lots now Wink

I cried at three people this morning, but I've been busy doing household chores and Christmas shopping on line today so feeling much more positive. Ds2 had a great time on his first school trip and came back fine Smile
I've got a 10k race with my doggies tomorrow (last one I think until after the baby is born) then off to my mums for lunch to celebrate my birthday. In the evening I'm off to my running clubs presentation evening and party. Sunday id like to go for a long walk with the dogs and my boys and hopefully the cinema but I fancy the nativity film and the boys want to watch the turtles so although it's my birthday it's likely to be the turtles Wink

Already in bedBlush was supposed to be at someone's leaving do tonight but I nodded off on the couch as soon as I sat down so thought I'd not go out. Didn't really know her that well anyway and I don't particularly like the Thai restaurant they were going to. (It's a bit tasteless unless it's burning hot! Well everything I have tried there.) I'd rather go to the Chinese across the road for all you can eat buffet. Mmm duck pancakes! Wink

I loved my NCT people - mat leave would have been quite bleak without them as I had hardly any preg friends at the time. Teacher was v realistic about outcomes and not especially interested in pushing 'natural' childbirth so I guess we got lucky. Won't bother this time around though as I think I know every other local mother and as I'll be running around after DD most of the time I won't have all that lovely spare time to fill with movies and lunches and long walks etc violins

In other news preg brain has well and truly set in. Today I left my credit card in the post office machine, my handbag in the ladies and DD's scooter in waitrose. Thankfully kind people returned them all to me.

19+2.

Ah we got married in Suffolk cinammon Near Lavenham?

Well I am now the proud owner of crutches! Was basically told that it'll only get worse. Am booked in to see an osteopath next week to check that my pelvis isn't out of line which might be contributing.

We've bought quite a few guts when we've seen good deals. I'm also not superstitious about buying things already as I'm trying to stay positive this time round.

Hope you have a lovely holiday siarie

OneDayLikeThis2013 · 28/11/2014 22:22

A few guts!? I meant bits obviously!

cinnamongreyhound · 28/11/2014 22:47

I had a school trip to lavenham, was very boring! Probably like it now Wink sorry to hear about your crutches Flowers

Rustyzilla · 28/11/2014 22:50

Hello - just a flying visit to ask why we can't use Vicks? I googled it ages ago and couldn't find any info that said not to use it, so I have been...?

catsofa · 28/11/2014 23:17

NHS site says seek medical advice before using, I don't know why exactly but Olbas Oil says it shouldn't be used either.

catsofa · 28/11/2014 23:19

I'm dying for something to help me clear my nostrils a bit so I can get to sleep - I don't have a cold, just I guess swollen blood vessels in my nose making me all stuffed up :(

Rustyzilla · 28/11/2014 23:25

I think I decided to just use it after I saw this page:

www.babycenter.com/0_chart-over-the-counter-medications-during-pregnancy_1486462.bc

Obviously if you're worried don't use it but it has been my saviour! I have had nasal congestion and nose bleeds and I find rubbing a bit on my temples has helped dull the worst headaches I've had. Met remember to check though with midwife!

catsofa · 28/11/2014 23:37

Oh wow thanks for that link, it's much more useful than anything else I've seen! I've been snorting the odd bit of Olbas in the middle of the night occasionally...

BTW "Acetaminophen" from that link is just the American name for paracetamol, before anyone gets excited Sad

Pharmacist told me Vicks was fine - assuming we're talking about the little lip balm sized thing you shove up your nose yes? I quite like it even when I haven't really got a cold tbh as a bit of a livener. Used throughout this preg and last. Also the Olbas oil one.
