Just popping by quickly to wish cinnamon good luck. Sure it will all be fine, but let us know how you get on. xxx Flowers

daholster · 26/11/2014 08:32

Poor you fizzy, hope you feel better today?

Good luck cinnamon, fingers crossed.

smogsville · 26/11/2014 08:39

Yes best of luck today Cinnamon.

To everyone letting out a little wee when they sneeze/ cough etc - me too. Was the same with DD so at least it hasn't got worse since first preg.

Did a little run for the tube yesterday and it happened again. I wasn't the most convincing preg woman asking for a seat, having sprinted onto the train I didn't look like I needed one! Got one anyway of course Grin

MAT B1 - has anyone been able to get it at 20 wk scan appt? I won't have another midwife appt until 28 weeks as second preg which will be too late.

BananaToast · 26/11/2014 08:39

Good luck today cinnamon - hoping for really good news for you and your little one.

TheBooMonster · 26/11/2014 08:57

Yikes fizzy let that be a lesson to us all! Hope some exercises can get your pelvic floor back under relative control :s

Getting eager to have my 20 week scan now, once I've got the OK from that I think I will chill out completely. Shame I have to wait a while for it still, specially when I'm not getting movements every day. Yesterday was a quiet day and it makes you wonder.

TinyTear · 26/11/2014 09:35

Good luck cinnamon, what time are you going in?

BananaToast · 26/11/2014 09:55

Siarie I'm so impatient for mine! How long do you have left to wait? Mines not until two weeks on Friday, and I'm 20 weeks on Monday Envy (sick of waiting face)

FreedomHuntress · 26/11/2014 10:11

Thinking of you, Cinnamon.

Siarie, same. Though I've told DH that at every stage - I'll relax at 12 weeks ... I'll relax when we hear the heartbeat at 16 weeks ...
Mine's a week today.

18+2

berberana · 26/11/2014 10:15

Morning! I am more of a reader than a poster - in fact, I haven't posted on this thread at all! But am finding it all very interesting and useful so hope you don't mind my occasional butting in!

I have my anomaly scan this afternoon - eek! I am 20+4 and the wait has seemed so long - we really want to know what gender this one is - my DS was unco-operative and we had to go back a couple of weeks later (for measurements too) - it was nice to see him again but an agonising wait - hope we find out for definite this afternoon. Trying not to dwell on the fact that they are looking for potential problems. It's certainly active in there - full-on aerobics / bladder trampolining marathon over the last couple of days! I have felt a few kicks from the outside as well which is exciting, but DH hasn't yet been in the right place at the right time to feel as well. It's reassuring though.

Excitingly, I actually feel "well" which I never did in my first pregnancy, was just constantly plagued with backache and tiredness. I wouldn't say I am quite blooming but I certainly feel better than expected. It helps that it's my birthday next Monday and I am lucky enough to have lots of people who want a meal out to celebrate with me, so I am spinning the festivities out over 3 weekends, the first of which was last Saturday - had a fabulous meal out with my lovely friends (highly recommend Tea 4/2 to any Manchester ladies) and have 2 more weekends of celebrations coming up! It's not even a special birthday, I am indeed fortunate. I spent more than I should have on a fabulous dress from Tiffany Rose which I feel really glam in - but have to justify the purchase, so it's a good job I have all these outings as well as some Xmas parties - I'll look the same in every photograph taken over the next 6 weeks!

My visits to the osteopath and a 121 pilates lesson have really paid off and although I am not completely pain-free, I am in a significantly better state than I was a month ago and I have a bespoke pilates routine to keep up with at home so hopefully will get stronger and more able to manage the burgeoning bump as time goes on. Brixton I recall you were trying an osteopath too - hope you are feeling a little better.

Right, must dash, before the scan I have a visit to DS's potential new primary school lined up!

Cinnamon - hope your appointment this afternoon goes ok. x

FizzyBubbly · 26/11/2014 10:41

Wishing you all the best for today's scan Cinnamon, fingers crossed its precautionary and that everything's ok

Still running to the toilet every 30mins to be sick, it's just dry heaving now but brought up red blood a minute agoConfused probably just irritation I hope. DD is at MILs for the day so have crawled back to bed.

Oh and glad I'm not the only one with a shocking pelvic floor!

BananaToast · 26/11/2014 10:45

Good luck today at your scan berberana and happy birthday for Monday! Enjoy the celebrations.

smogsville · 26/11/2014 10:49

Girls I just did a massive sneeze-wee. Came out of nowhere. Thank Christ I'm at home for quick knicker change! Does this mean I need to have spare ones in work drawer? Imagine what someone would think if they came across them while looking for a post-it...

Welcome, berberana, and Happy Birthday.
How old is your DS?

minipie · 26/11/2014 11:27

Morning all

Had my anomaly scan today 21+4 and all is fine... phew (with DD1 there was a bit of an oddity, single umbilical artery, which was quite minor but worrying so glad there was nothing this time). Definitely a girl and it was lovely to see her little face and limbs. It's amazing how much they can see.

Toucanet glad yours was fine too

cinnamon hope yours is going in the right direction, fingers crossed

good luck this afternoon berberana! Am very Envy of your outings, my weekends at the moment consist of building work and dealing with ill and grumpy DD!

So sorry to hear some people are still being sick, that's rubbish. Weeing... well no accidents yet but I do need to go to the loo a LOT. According to the scan the baby's head is on my bladder so that won't be helping Hmm. I feel fairly healthy but my skin is awful - with DD it cleared up at 16 weeks so I was really hoping for the same this time!

Mat leave - Boo like you I have lots of holiday to use up before mat leave - I'm using it bit by bit to work increasingly part time from New Year (rather than taking it all at once from Feb). Could you/would you want to do something similar?

LadyNovember · 26/11/2014 11:45

Just catching up again. Thanks for the birthday wishes :-)

Good luck to those having scans today! And congrats to those that have had them over the last few days..Another 2 weeks til mine!

Loved the name talk a few pages back..and saw someone mention Miles..maybe we'll have two in April then, I think we're definitely settled on it. Although with a y. Grin

I'm feeling much the same mini..generally great, but my skin is atrocious..it wasn't even this bad as a teenager..I actually have a cluster of spots on my cheek now..which is like full blown acne location in my opinion lol :/

upduffedsecret · 26/11/2014 11:55

my anomaly scan went ok, the sonographer wasn't exactly friendly. barked orders, then said nothing at all until the end when we were told. "everything looks ok. probably a girl. you go now"
charming!

so because we felt a bit sad by that, we've booked a gender scan (in 3d!) as an early present to ourselves. Which means his mother has had something to say sigh she thinks "all these scans and things" are a waste of time... the consultant says otherwise and has booked me 2 more scans due to my medical history. it's not like the NHS has money to waste, so they aren't going to do them needlessly!

and he hasn't got the hang of not-telling yet... she doesn't need to know! and he had a lovely long lecture about how this is a waste of his (don't get me started on that one...) money, he must be daft etc because we want the extra scan.

aaagh! I've told him we aren't telling anyone the name we've chosen until baby is born so we don't have to put up with her views on why it's not the right name blah blah blah.

sooo frustrated at it all now. She's lovely, but no-one ever disagrees with her... must be nice to be always right ;-)

oh, it's also not a secret any more, need to namechange again now!

EbwyIsUpTheDuff · 26/11/2014 11:58

name changed :)

We paid at 16 weeks for a 2D gender scan and I think every single person we mentioned it to said we were wasting money. (It was only £50!) It was an amazing experience which we loved and felt was worth every penny, if not more! Forget what everyone else says!

Great news that everything is good. Wait until you see the difference in people skills when you pay privately, it's insane. X
