hiding you are 1 day behind us if you are due on Weds 15th, making you 19+6. Shame it's not all three of us sharing the same day, that would be fun!

20w!

Freedom my dad loved the song, and my mama is French so loved the name as it's a French name. Have you ever heard of the story of Abelard & Eloise? That's why she loved the name - different cultural references but they both agreed! Smile

BrixtonBunny · 25/11/2014 20:34

Misty that's interesting, sonographer thought he could see the lines...we shall see in April! Grin

BrixtonBunny · 25/11/2014 20:35

Ooh, also - I got my manager to sign off my maternity leave application today. Fingers crossed HR approve it all... Shock

BananaToast · 25/11/2014 21:03

Wow that's organised Brixton! It hasn't even been mentioned at my work yet, although I've worked out when I would like it to start, using some annual leave beforehand.

BrixtonBunny · 25/11/2014 21:11

To be honest I was the one who wanted it sorted as soon as possible - it's lovely to have a date to look forward to! I just thought "why not" as I picked up my mat1b form the other day Smile

daholster · 25/11/2014 21:12

Is there a 19 month sleep regression? My daughter is beside herself and I hate it Sad She is trying to construct sentences and I think her brain is just too busy... All the way home in the car she was trying to tell me stuff. It was 2am last night and in bed with me before she went to sleep properly. She's always been so good at going to bed in general, it's such an upsetting shock when she struggles because she gets very upset. And it upsets me!

The easy thing is to get her out and fall asleep on me... But then I will start a new habit and I've had to sort that one out before and don't want to go there again! Reaching for any glimmer that this will be short lived and be gone by next week...?! Sad

PS I know my methods may be contentious... I don't ignore her, I talk to her if she's getting upset and lay my hand on her chest or back, or stroke her hair, but getting her out is just a step too far into her not being able to self settle again...

TheBooMonster · 25/11/2014 21:22

gasps Brixton you've just reminded me bangs head against wall repeatedly I was meant to ask my midwife to sort out my matb1 form this week and I completely forgot exclaims a bunch of expletives the only other day she's in this week other than today is Thursday but she needs my notes to write the form and I need my notes for the scan on Thursday... Going to have to hand in my request to start maternity leave and hope they'll be ok with not getting my matb1 form till next week else my mat leave is going to start later than I'd planned because work need 15 weeks notice.

Yea, I looked at the black Friday sale and I'm not all that convinced, some of the prices are still much the same as the pink lining stuff I've been looking at which isn't on offer...

Too be honest it was the 14th to start with but grey added a day at the dating scan. Seamed a bit pointless.
I got my furniture on offer anyway and was bought as a set so nithat sure if black Friday makes adifference. Seems to just be a marketing stunt catching on from USA.

TheBooMonster · 25/11/2014 22:22

misty I think because I'm just a weekend skivvy in a retail outlet they're not that worried about needing to train maternity cover, people come and go all the time, they are adamant that no plans are set in stone until they have my matb1 form and despite vomiting frequently at work and growing a handsome bump they won't do anything official about my mat leave until they have the matb1 shaped proof in their hands (though they have already set in motion my move to tills that I was furiously dragging my heels about queue three months of till investigations because the numbers move on the screen

Boo can you get your GP to do it? That's what mine did. You must be taking yours very early if it's 15 weeks next week?

cinnamongreyhound · 25/11/2014 22:50

I'm Just sorting mat leave for an employee at the preschool I'm treasurer of and the deadline for her declare she's going on smp is very close to actually getting her matb1 so could well be 15weeks. She's 4 weeks ahead of me and I think her deadline was 29th nov! Maybe some employers are a bit more lenient, check out the gov website it's very helpful!

TheBooMonster · 25/11/2014 23:20

brixton there's a 4 week wait with my gp (don't even get me started on that, it is a bone of consumption that they don't have enough bloody doctors for the sheer number of people in the catchment area) I'm due April 12th but might be induced March 21st (37 weeks) So I want to be on maternity leave from then, I have to start my maternity leave from a Monday apparently, so that takes it to March 16th which is 36+2 I'll be 21 weeks on Saturday, which makes the 15 weeks. I'll also have to take all my holiday before I go which is 5.6 weeks ( Something bizarre like 5 weekends, a day and an hour) which would mean that my last day at work would be February 7th. Obviously that all changes by a week if they kick up a fuss about the matb1 form, but I'll give my midwife team a ring in the morning to see if anything can be done...

Just marking place after having ok anomaly scan today (19+2), though am still on the after mc thread more. Have started thinking about maternity leave though :) But only need to tell my work formally by 9 Jan, to begin around Easter I think. Boss is just recruiting maternity cover for another colleague so wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't have an eye out for a 2nd one who could do mine mind, even if nothing can be definite for a long time yet.

FizzyBubbly · 26/11/2014 00:46

Congrats on the scan Toucanet!

Haven't properly been sick yet this pregnancy until just now... just thrown up dinner whilst simultaneously weeing all over the bathroom floor. A reminder for everyone to keep up with their pelvic floor exercises!

FizzyBubbly · 26/11/2014 05:53

And repeat twice more (both the throwing up and peeing Confused)

Wineandchoccy · 26/11/2014 06:57

Good luck today Cinnamon I will be thinking of you and your little man

BrixtonBunny · 26/11/2014 07:11

Boo that makes sense! How lovely that you'll be off from Feb! I'm planning on going off mid-march (taking a couple of weeks of holiday then starting mat leave proper on 1st April) and coming back 31st March 2016 Blush Seems so surreal to plan so far in advance...

Cinnamon I'm thinking of you, hope you're feeling ok and all goes well with your lovely little boy xxx

21 weeks today!

Hidingthefear · 26/11/2014 07:14

Well reminded fizzy, I deforestation need to remember to do my pelvic floor. I was reminded when DH made me laugh too hard !
Felling pretty crappy at the moment aside from the usual sickness I've got dreadful headaches and a soar throat that pains me to swallow, according to the strepsils packet I should consult my doctor before taking :/ someone needs to research medicine for us preggos lol

OneDayLikeThis2013 · 26/11/2014 07:44

Keeping everything crossed that you receive some reassuring news today cinammon

With this being my first baby, I've noticed that I'm nearly weeing when coughing/laughing! Is this normal or was I naive to think it only happened after having a baby?!

boo how lovely to be finishing in February!

kismac · 26/11/2014 07:45

Good luck today cinnamon.

Oh Fizzy, that's makes me feel so much better. I keep having a wee when I puke but can sneeze, cough and laugh til my heart content. I never believed that doing your pelvic floor exercises were so important.

I've not been sick yet this week. In your face HG. I think it's finally over. Woo!

OneDayLikeThis2013 · 26/11/2014 07:46

Warm water with honey (preferably local) and lemon, and gargle disposable paracetamol hiding

Also, for anyone bunged up, I found out that we can use snufflebabe vapour rub too. It's usually for new borns and I bought some from a Tesco. Life saver!
