I think with girls they are looking for 3 lines rather than a lack of anything but I wouldn't know having had three definite willies with mine!

Hidingthefear · 25/11/2014 11:54

haha squatting love the currys idea. I used to be an unfortunate sole that worked at NEXT on boxing day and would arrive at work to queues of women waiting to get and ransack the shop. Glad i work in an office now!

Daholser and wineandchoccy what is your due date, mine changed to Wed 15th April so i think i might be 19+6 today. I got so mixed up because my date kept changing.
love the names list daholster. My freind called hear little girl born earlier this year Felicity and although I wasn't keen at first when i saw her it suited her and i loved the name. She's called Lissy by everyone, which ws her mums doing, and i really like. We have a girls name and a boys name, although DH still keeps suggesting more and I thought we were settled, maybe we will still change our minds until April... Girls name is set and was DH's idea and i liked it. the boy name is more up for debate. Maybe if we find out the sex on Thursday we can have a proper think.

us on the April bus are old hats now brixton

Hidingthefear · 25/11/2014 11:56

oh by the way, apparently Mamas and Papas are having a black Friday sale for those of you still looking to buy. A friend at work told me but I haven't looked into it as I already have my big purchases thanks to my Mum.

cinnamongreyhound · 25/11/2014 12:05

I know people whove had names for ages but we didn't decide until they were born. I may have said before but I let Dh choose ds2's name (from our short list) and it took me a good 18months to get used to it, it just doesn't suit him imo!! He's a total Oscar but that was a no no from the moment I mentioned it while I was pregnant. From our agreed list I think Sam fits him best but he's four now so no going back!!! Although I do know someone who changed their child's name by deed poll several months down the line.

BrixtonBunny · 25/11/2014 12:05

Smogs yep, number one Smile

Wineandchoccy · 25/11/2014 12:41

hidingthefear we are both due on Tuesday 14th April Grin if I am 3 days late it is my DH birthday, what a present that would be!

FizzyBubbly · 25/11/2014 12:44

Kismac and Freedom, my DH has said he wants Eloise if we have another girl!!! If DD had been a boy she'd have been Oliver but I'm thinking that might be too common now?

Freedom, ooooh another Jack Bauer fan! We're currently rewatching every series from the beginning, it's the only thing that will keep me awake in the evenings! Halfway through season 2 at the mo and he looks so young, swoon!

Congrats on the scans Chilli and Brixton, and good luck Annia!

BrixtonBunny · 25/11/2014 12:53

Freedom I'm an Eloise - love it, as I'm always the only person with that name!

FreedomHuntress · 25/11/2014 13:07

That's great, BB! And you are just the right age for The Damned's version! Was that the inspiration for your parents, do you know?

Fizzy, ooh, go for it, it's lovely! Oliver's been top five for the last few years, I think! What about Gulliver! :)

24 is awesome! I'd watch it again but there is other good stuff on that I haven't even seen. He does look young in the early series, and lovely! :) If I absolutely HAD to have someone other than DH, it would be Kiefer.

Squatting, Bottom is not my taste, no. But nice to see a reason for a username.

Hidingthefear · 25/11/2014 13:09

*Wineandchoccy" I'm due 15th which is DH's Birthday (the dogs is the 16th haha)
so if i'm a day after you that means i'm 20weeks on Thursday then. my word this pregnancy math is confusing. my due date has been the 14th,15th and 16th so far and they'll probably change their minds again at my anomaly scan! like it matters anyway becuase lets face it these babies don't exactly run like clockwork do they !

oliver is a lovely name, i don't know any of those.
we like Max but I want a name that can be shortened which limits me to either Maximus (which im not fond of) or Maxwell (which DH says isn't even a name and i made it up, but i didn't coz i googled it to make sure lol).

think i need a baby book or a good website to get some ideas....

FreedomHuntress · 25/11/2014 13:14

Hiding, I like this site for keeping track of how many weeks plus days I am: www.pregnology.com/faralong.php?month=4&day=27&year=2015. I view it as being due three weeks either side of that date though, so quite a large window.

Maximilian? Massimo?

kismac · 25/11/2014 13:29

Aww Brixton, I can't say it. I just stumble all over it, so if we did pick it I'd have to give the baby a nickname - probably something like Elle and my wee sister is Eilidh and it'd all just get a bit confusing.
He's pretty fixed on it too, so I might just have to spend the next 4 months practicing saying it. Ha ha.

Hidingthefear · 25/11/2014 13:32

thanks Freedom i fear DH will argue they are also made up names :/ my cousin's Dog is called Max too which is a little annoying but I don't think that would bother me.
it has 2 middle names just no first names. At least if it's a girl we have it's full name sorted haha.

AnniaFausta · 25/11/2014 13:44

Back from scan, which went swimmingly! All organs, bones etc. in place and developing as expected, and posterior uncomplicated placenta. Had to wriggle my hips to get the baby's head out of my pelvis so the sonographer could get a good look at the brain, though - I'm taking it as a good sign for later on ;) I nearly had a little weep in the waiting room afterwards - I hadn't realised just how much I'd got myself wound up about finding out something worrisome at this stage.

No gender-for-sure as baby was being modest, but we don't mind that!

FreedomHuntress · 25/11/2014 13:47

Hiding, tell him all names were made up at one time or another!

Great news, Annia.

cinnamongreyhound · 25/11/2014 13:54

My first cat was called Max :)

Siarie · 25/11/2014 14:17

Anyone still being sick now and then? I threw up my lunch today and was sick first thing Sunday morning. Then I'll go the rest of the day feeling fine lol so annoying. It's always food I really like too.

minipie · 25/11/2014 14:41

DD is an Eloise Smile

Struggling to find something we like as much for DD2 though!

Linda what about Morgan or even Merlin (I actually know of a little French boy called Merlin).

Hidingthefear · 25/11/2014 14:45

yeah Siarie i am still being sick every morning, usually between around half 7 and half 9. i've had 4 days of not vomiting since being 6 weeks (such a momentous occasion when i'm Not sick i've kept count).

If i had a pound or every time someone said "don't worry it will stop soon" it would pay for the whole nursery!

RiverRocks · 25/11/2014 15:24

My nausea is just about wearing off now at 22+5. There is still hope Xmas Grin does not offer ginger biscuits around for fear of having them chucked at my head.

I love the name Max; that was what I called my first car. DH turned his nose up at it though, and I'm with Hiding; I'd like a Sunday best name that can be shortened to Max.

I'm hoping we'll get a flash of inspiration over Christmas when I will force DH to read the baby names book, no escape without a shortlist of at least 5 names he likes Xmas Grin

BananaToast · 25/11/2014 15:34

Sorry some of you are still being/feeling sick - totally miserable. Fingers crossed the worst is nearly over.

I love Max too but it doesn't sound the best with our last name and my sister has said it's the one name we can't use as she really wants a Max one day.

For a boy I like classic names so will never end up with anything hugely original. My favourite at the moment is Oliver, I also like William, James (but have Jimmy issues as above), Joshua and Noah. For a girl I like Sophie/Sophia, Emily, Emma, Isla, Holly, Lucy and Jessica. DH agrees with most of these so they're our starting point. There are others I like but have been used by friends/family and others that DH really doesn't like that we've already ruled out.

Thanks to whoever pointed out the Mamas and Papas Black Friday deals - we're planning to get a Sola pram and it's 15% off this week so we may order one. Bit scary, I didn't plan to order it so soon as it feel like a big ticket item and I don't want to tempt fate, but at the same time I'm not sure I really believe in that and don't want to pay more than I need to!

Hidingthefear · 25/11/2014 15:47

you're welcome on the black Friday info ;) i might see if there are any small items in the sale even if i have already got the big stuff.

We've not told ANYONE our name ideas for fear of mocking so , my fellow Mumsnetters', you're the first to hear them lol
I liked William too so I could shorten it to Will but then I don't want anyone to call him "willy" Hmm.
for girls we like Amelia which could either be Amy or , my preference, Leah/Lia for short. and DH likes Kimberly but I keep picturing that Korean Kim Jong Young or whatever he was called :/ but it's a nice name.
DH's Gran said she was dead set on Garry for one of her sons but then when he was born decided he didn't look like a Garrys o they called him John haha.I like having a "sunday" name as well as a short name like you say river. me and DH both have boring, common unadventerous names so i think that's why all our choices are fairly unoriginal for fear of being mocked by family.

Maybe if we find out the sex the name thing will seem a bit more real and we could give it some serious consideration.

Siarie · 25/11/2014 16:53

I can kind of accept that every now and then I'm going to lose my food, the rest of the time I feel ok mostly. I have episodes of over heating and feeling faint but It's not so bad.

I'm just thankful that I don't have HG, those poor ladies have that sometimes for the whole pregnancy.

FreedomHuntress · 25/11/2014 18:30

Nice choice, minipie! :)

daholster · 25/11/2014 19:01

hiding what about Maxim?

banana Holly is an awesome name Wink

So sorry for all of you being sick!!!
