LOLZ Bonjour!

cinnamongreyhound · 24/11/2014 19:30

Sounds like my Dh BinjourMinou!! My favourites at the moment are Elliot, miles, Joshua and Ben. Ds1's is Thomas, ds2 is Fred and Dh most serious suggestion is some navy captain but including the captain or Darth Vader!!

daholster · 24/11/2014 19:49

Oh names... I have been busy on the names thread... The only ones we both like are very popular and we aren't keen on using them for this reason, it would be nice for them not to have to be "Ethan F" or "big Ethan" or whatever (that's what teachers did for Daniels at my school!). The only name we both like feels to awkward at the moment since a friend (we don't really see her much now though) has an angel baby by the same name. I don't want to totally rule it out but I'm not sure we would ever use it.

Boy names would be a nightmare for us to choose and agree on! Perhaps we should be hoping for another girl!!! Wink

Hi all, haven't been on for ages so just trying to catch up! I have the anomaly scan on Wednesday and can't wait. I was starting to panic because I'm twenty weeks and hardly feeling any movement (and with baby #5 you'd think I'd feel something). Today however I felt some very definite movements. Midwife said at sixteen week app that she thought the placenta could be anterior so be interested to see what they say on Wednesday.

I'm on to a major pre-Christmas clean up and de-clutter at the moment so I'm totally shattered. We've swapped bedrooms with the boy children in preparation for the baby but now we need to decorate! And Dd1' s panto rehearsals begin on Sunday. I'm head chaperone so need to start sorting rotas and dealing with 12 hyper dancing juniors on a daily basis... why did I volunteer again???

daholster · 24/11/2014 20:52

Ha dh has just told me he doesn't actually like that name anyway! we are going to end up with a super popular name...

dances Shock Shock Shock

cinnamongreyhound · 24/11/2014 21:06

My friend has an Ethan, born in April, he's such a cutie but I didn't want to tell her every Ethan I've known has been not so well behaved! I bet teachers have a nightmare trying to find a name Wink

daholster · 24/11/2014 21:26

The name I quite liked was Tristan. I think our current top names are Rory and Jack. I also like Cody but he hasn't commented yet... These are the names I like but he doesn't...

daholster · 24/11/2014 21:33

Jack
Rory
Tristan
Jasper (but surname ends in -er so no)
Heath (but doesn't work with our surname)
Leo
Winter (but will be a spring baby!)
Soren (dh vetoed)
Gabriel (dh vetoed)
Rowan - dh is thinking about...

These are girls names I like:

Felicity - dh ok
Hermione - dh unsure due HP connotations, though likes the name
Oriana/Ariana - dh unsure
Leila - dh ok
Nia - dh not keen
Genevieve (Ginny) - dh ok
Briar - dh vetoed
Ottilie (Tilly) - dh vetoed
Thomasina (Tommy) - dh vetoed

Hmm... I love thinking about names... Except when dh irritates me by being boring!!!

I think secretly that Genevieve might win if it's a girl... Though dd is Kaitlin and not sure if it really goes...

Beth is so pretty. And my best friend is Rachel and she is brilliant!

cinnamongreyhound · 24/11/2014 21:52

I wanted ds2 to be Oscar, he so suits it!! Jack is dh's nephew or ds1 would have been jack. I like Dominic but Dh said no first time around! I know a girl and boy rowan :)
Beth is a lovely name a certainly would have picked it for a girls name if it wasn't dh's evil ex wife's name. Charlotte, Emily and ria where my top three girls names, that I can put in the bin now!

Siarie · 24/11/2014 22:14

Ahh so much to catch up on! I've felt movements they feel weird. Like running a tiny finger down your skin from the inside, feels like being tickled. Then there's the thumps which take you by surprise and I think I felt a full roll today.

This little girl likes to dance in the evenings, she enjoys music too. I went out to a tapas bar and she loved the Spanish music or the food. Because I spent about thirty minutes making faces at my friends with each movement.

Congrats to all those who have found out what they are having.

There is an Ethan at DDs preschool and he is really small and cute. Has proper jam jar bottom glasses and gets really upset over nothing. DH does a great impression of him, he follows DH around when he drops DD off.

I don't really have any boy names at all just think probably should use family names as my uncle was the last boy on our side and he died 15 years ago when he was 30.
I have my 2 girl names that I've mentioned on here before just got to get DH to agree with one of them. I don't think he is that interested in picking a name other than we have to agree on it. He never brought anything to the table last time except Harrison for a boy. Which I didn't mind but would of preferred just Harry. Smile

OneDayLikeThis2013 · 25/11/2014 06:52

Lovely lovely news chilli!

Am loving all the name chat too. Rory is probably our favourite boy name to date.

Ooh a doula mel that sounds wonderful. I don't know too much about them of what they do but have heard they can be a great support

Wineandchoccy · 25/11/2014 07:17

Congratulations Chilli we have gone from a surge of girls to now lots of boys.

Picking a name is really hard, I bought a baby name book with 100,000 names in it and still have not found anything that grabs me. So far on our short list is -
Jack, James, Matthew, Sebastian
Eleanor, Rebecca, Francesca, Isla.

smogsville · 25/11/2014 07:41

Congratulations chill. Ado for a boy?!

Bear in mind ladies it is possible to wear the DHs/ DPs down and get your way, you just need to start around and now and keep gently pecking away. That's how I got DD's name.

What is it about the men and their vetoes anyway? Just like most people here I find I am submitting loads of suggestions, most of which get knocked back immediately.

BrixtonBunny · 25/11/2014 07:45

So many lovely names being bandied around! Smile We're in the same boat as lots of you - I suggest loads of names, DP says "I don't like it", but doesn't suggest much... still, hopefully will find out the sex this morning so can have discussions in earnest! We've got our middle names picked out already which is good.

I'll report back later this morning x

20+6

TinyTear · 25/11/2014 07:49

Great news Chilli

Good luck Brixton

BananaToast · 25/11/2014 07:53

We're the same - I suggest names and DH says no but doesn't suggest any alternatives. Some names we both like but can't use, and a couple we like but I refuse to use - eg James. I love James, he likes James, but I hate Jimmy/Jim and that's what he would shorten it to so I can't use it.

Wineandchoccy · 25/11/2014 07:55

Ahh crazy neighbour just run out of her house and rubbed my belly Blush I didn't think I was showing but she has just told me I'm massive, thanks!

Good luck Brixton
