Boo I'm very lucky in that my DP is even better about remembering to write cards than I am!

FreedomHuntress · 17/11/2014 19:58

Boo, your DH has fans?
Sorry to hear about the HMS, you poor thing. What is pgp?

littlesupersparks · 17/11/2014 20:09

Thanks ladies for the suggestions :-) I just hate hate hate shopping!!!

I can't really go shopping as have a 4 year old and 2 year old!!! I have ordered a dress from purpless so it might be ok. Short is ok for me as I'm a short arse!!!! I would need a sparkly jeweled belt or something but can work with that. Was only £11!

Floppypotato · 17/11/2014 20:17

Had my anomaly scan today. All was perfect :) what a relief!!

Another milestone done. It was an emotional day!! Hope you're all okay

19+6

Lindalove · 17/11/2014 20:35

Had my 20 week anomaly scan too. Everything was present and correct - heart like a train. Also I found out gender - I'm team boy!
Here's his wee face appearing out of the gloom
I fell off the stats list BTW.
I'm 38, EDD April 2 2015

smogsville · 17/11/2014 20:48

Is there room for a late joiner?

33, #2, EDD 22nd April, csection booked for 16th April.

18 weeks. No bump just feeling a bit post-Christmas fat.

Not felt any movement yet but then again I don't think I did with DD until after 20 weeks - can't remember tbh.

Got a gender scan booked on Sunday and then 20 wk scan on 12th Dec. would love another girl if only because I've already got all the clothes!

Missing sushi and proper cheese...

Lauren82000 · 17/11/2014 21:02

Second scans are coming in thick and fast now. I'm well jealous mine is 2 weeks on Wednesday, that's ages off. Sad

daholster · 17/11/2014 21:25

Oh proper cheese...

Lindalove · 17/11/2014 21:31

Smogsville you can have sushi if it's been frozen as it kills the bugs. I've also had runny eggs as risk is v low but avoided soft cheese and pate. I am having a 125ml glass of wine once a week with my big Saturday dinner though! Hardly had any caffeine though.

TheBooMonster · 17/11/2014 21:52

freedom nan, totally meant nan, no he has no fans! Pelvic Girdle Pain, roughly the same thing as SPD if you've heard of that, it's basically where the pelvis has opened too far and is too loose so fucking hurts. It feels like someone's stretched out the front of my pelvis and put house bricks in the gap :S (terrified myself earlier with someone who's pelvic bone broke during labour!!! but she did have a bone condition)

I've got another damned nosebleed!

Could take or leave stinky cheese and sushi but I'd give my right arm for some Pate! A whole pack thicky spread over a single slice of toast! I'm totally breaking all the alcohol rules, I had a cup of well stewed mulled wine on Friday and Saturday night and there's one cup left in the bottle which I'm desperately trying to stop myself drinking guilty face

kismac · 17/11/2014 22:08

Aww, I'd kill for some pate. Ooh and steak that's not like rubber. That's what I'm having as my first meal.

Went to aquanatal class tonight which was great. We did get shown a birthing video which I could have done without. Way too early to be showing that. I know how it comes out but at same time I don't want to know. Ha ha.

CherryLips1980 · 17/11/2014 22:14

I could eat an entire camembert right now. The morning after I had DD, DP brought in crusty bread, Pie D'Angloys and naice ham. Not the most conventional of breakfasts but it is still high on my Best Meal Ever list. I keep reading conflicting advice over whether it's OK to eat or not so avoiding it just in case.

My milestones are pretty much the same as everyone elses - 20 week scan (8th Dec), 24 weeks, 30 weeks and 37weeks. And my extra growth scans, whenever they are (DD was a lot smaller than expected - or, as the chart in my pregnancy notes this time says 'didn't reach her full potential' - so having extra scans). Having moaned in an earlier thread this pregnancy seemed to be dragging, it feels like it's scampering by now.

Daholster I have the same horrid dry cough. It's awful, I have no idea how I haven't kept every one awake. I, er, have also had to invest in some Always Discrete today Blush. My pelvic floor muscles don't seem to be what they were Sad.

DD is amazing me today. Last Sunday (9th, her first birthday), she toddled/overbalanced/staggered 7-8 steps. Cue much excitement. Next few days went back to crawling, Saturday she was walking around the living room between the sofa & fire guard (not a huge amount of room between the two, so if she was off balance, she had something to grab), Sunday she walked more than she crawled and today she is walking EVERYWHERE. The only time she's crawled today is when she's toppled over and she's crawled to something to stand herself back up.

Lindalove · 17/11/2014 22:19

Boo a couple of units won't hurt.... mulled wine is pretty low percentage I think. Its more than 1-2 units a week without food (as your kidneys then don't process as well) that the research suggests can be a problem.

I'm with you on the pate. I'd kill for some pate..... I HAVE had rare steak. Don't see the point in eating it otherwise, but its good for protein, and pretty sure scores of French women have eaten rare steak while preggers since time began. I just make sure the steak has been stored well/ only get fresh from a good butcher or restaurant.

How are people doing with weight? I'd not weighed myself at all but normal weight is 53kg for me. I'm now 60kg at 20 weeks so have put on 7kg! Think gain of 13-14kg is normal in total - I don't care, I think its interesting. Husband grabbed my bum the other day and went "what's that!' . First time I have had a proper bum. As baby is 13 ozs am blaming weight gain mainly on him/ water/ extra blood as I haven't been eating much more than I normally do! I think my metabolism which is usually super high has gone on a go-slow.

cinnamongreyhound · 17/11/2014 22:31

My boobs definitely account for some weight gain!!

Poxy helicopters are flying over our house and Dh is fast asleep next to me. Can't sleep despite being tired, probably putting my phone down would help!

Linda how lovely to see your little one's face Smile Congratulations to everyone finding out that their babies are ok.

I have to admit I've had pasteurised Camembert, cooked in the oven til it's bubbling and trying to avoid the rind... Some people say it's ok, others not. Have also had prosciutto and smoked salmon, after looking at various advice and chatting with dh. I have also had one medium steak... Pink but not bleeding. No runny eggs here though and I crave boiled egg and dunkers! My mum says organic free range fresh eggs should be fine runny but I choose not to take a chance there bizarrely. Have had 2 glasses of champagne since the first trimester and 2 bottles of Waitrose low alcohol cider (0.5%) which was actually ok and tasted like a cider! Mild yea, but cider nonetheless Grin

It seems ridiculous really to risk it, 9 months isn't that long, but I think second time round I am trying to be less paranoid and use my common sense. For years people ate all sorts and as someone else said in France and Italy they eat all sorts while pregnant!

My cravings have been pickled onions (and feeling the desperate need to drink the vinegar Confused ), Bovril on toast and currently Frank's hot sauce!!!

cowbiscuits · 17/11/2014 23:16

Lindalove- Not done nearly as bad on weight gain as I did in my first pregnancy, with DS I was constantly ravenous in the first trimester, could not stop eating, and then went a bit crazy, and got a really sweet tooth. Me and DH went out for nice dinners a lot because we knew we wouldn't have any nights out for ages. I put on about 3 stone by the end. My boobs went up about 3 cupsizes though so that accounted for some.

This time, although I haven't been nauseous, I just haven't so much appetite, not been able to binge-eat huge meals. We can't afford takeaways anymore and romantic meals out are a thing of the past! So I got through the first trimester only putting on about a pound. And have gained a few more since, seem to be getting the appetite back now. I'm still in the same clothes size, they just don't fit round my tummy. I want to keep eating normally and not get greedy again.

Congratulatoins to everyone who's had their scans and good luck to those who are still waiting. 17 days till mine.

Cherrylips- My DH bought me a lovely supper of pate, brie and crusty bread the day after I got home after I had DS. Was lovely. But I had just eaten dinner in the hospital (which did surprisingly good food) and wasn't very hungry.

I got to cuddle a friend's 9 week old this morning. He was beautiful! So tiny! He's average sized but I totally forgot how small they are. Made me very excited.

TinyTear · 18/11/2014 06:41

I miss Brie...

But I haven't eaten sushi since August 2010 and won't again so soon. Had the worst food poisoning ever and put me off it...

Lauren82000 · 18/11/2014 07:10

I've had no obvious cravings but I get cravings for food normally when I'm not pregnant so they just seem to have continued like normal. Not really interested in anything but I am going through an obscene amount of nuts. Mainly cashews and pistachios. I feel like a squirrel!

kismac · 18/11/2014 07:10

Linda, im about the same. I've put on about a stone. I blame the nausea and having to not let myself get hungry or I puke. Aww fun.

Daholster, vinegar! Yuck! But in saying that I keep wanting to put salt in my juice which im finding really freaky.

Hidingthefear · 18/11/2014 07:35

I've seen it mentioned a few times but can someone tell me what a dream feed is? Clueless first timer here
what will I eat at the works chrismas meal when pate is on the set menu!!! I still have runny eggs on my bacon/spam butties.

cinnamongreyhound · 18/11/2014 07:35

I haven't had any weird cravings, just fancied pork crackling with ds's. Have moments when I really fancy something so I have it if I can but its not odd and it's not long lasting.

BananaToast · 18/11/2014 07:39

I'm quite lucky in that I don't usually eat any of the banned foods when not pregnant - don't eat red meat so no steak, don't like pate or soft cheese and prefer eggs well cooked. I also don't drink much so not missing that yet, although I know I'll miss out on prosecco/champagne at Christmas.

Weight wise I have put on 3lb so far - thought it was 5lb after my holiday but think some of that might have been hangover from the long flight as it's dropped back down since. I look pretty much the same but with a curve to my tummy. I'm eating loads though lately so waiting for it all to catch up with me! I'm a bit worried about gaining too much and being left with lots to lose at the end so hoping to stay at the lower end of the recommended range.

Wineandchoccy · 18/11/2014 07:49

I'm not missing any of the banned foods as I don't like runny eggs, soft cheese or rare steak. I've not missed alcohol either, had 0% fosters radler at the weekend and they are lovely. I will need to let my Mum know about the pate situation before she buys me a selection for Christmas Day because I imagine that the rules have changed since she had me 33 years ago and probably does not know that I can't have pate.

19 weeks today and scan on Friday afternoon, I'm nervous but can't wait at the same time.

I ordered a doppler off amazon yesterday to arrive today so hopefully will be able to find the heartbeat for DH later.

Linda your little boys face is lovely and the scan is so clear.

daholster · 18/11/2014 08:21

wine am jealous your scan is this week, I have to wait til 20+2, which is fair enough but feels like ages!

Weight wise I've gained 4lbs overall but I dropped 7lbs in the first trimester til 11 weeks so that means I've put on 11lbs in the last 8 weeks! Shock Am not being careful enough, I'm already a little overweight from where I should be since dd and then my op (where I def made up for lost time eating during my recovery!) Am thinking that when I go back to work from my annual leave next week I'll stick myself on a calorie controlled diet to try to stay within another couple of pounds til the due date. Assuming all my growth scans remain ok of course. Then hopefully once I have the baby and am breastfeeding I will go back to a healthier weight than I was when I started!

19 weeks today!
