Thread lady - we're thinking of you and so sad/angry for you. Ready whenever you are to support you in whatever way we can.

Chookford I'm in Brighton but I have family/friends in Kent.

Wiggly I initally asked the midwife if the EPU would do an early reassurance scan because of my past mc. In some areas they do if you ask, but in other areas like mine they won't unless you have pain or bleeding.

I then googled pregnancy ultrasound scans in Sussex. Looked through my options. Prices ranged from £69-£100. I went with one that had good reviews and testimonials, the sonographer used to work in the NHS and they keep up their professional registration/CPD etc. It was a really good experience and very reassuring so it felt like money well spent. You could also call and ask your local hospital as some do private scans (and charge for them) at the weekend.

Oh no, I've just read that other thread, poor poor thing. Thinking of you if you're lurking. Xx

MrsKrios · 05/11/2014 10:18

Hi all. My scan yesterday showed a healthy bean with a healthy heartbeat Smile . Discovered I'm only six weeks pregnant though Shock . I honestly thought I would be more like seven to eight. I must have found out when I was three weeks along or something. Still for now at least everything is alright and I'm booked in for my first midwife appointment at the end of the month.

notsoold · 05/11/2014 10:23

Marking place on the new thread. I am having a horrible time with a cough and cold and woke up this morning with awful ear pain Hmm going to the doctors in a couple of hours. DD also not well and very clingy and irritable so we're not having much fun.

I am 10w tomorrow and already in maternity clothes! My bump is huge, I look around 5 months!

MrsKrios · 05/11/2014 11:54

Thanks everyone. I'm very relieved. Hormones are kicking in now though and I suffer from severe general anxiety disorder which isn't helping. I'm a little self conscious about the fact that this will be our third DC and I'm 28. I've had a few Hmm looks from the couple of gp's I've seen. DH is older and has a good job but I'm still being made to feel like I've been irresponsible Sad .

Don't be self conscious Mrs K. To me, 3 children by 28 is very reasonable. Nothing unusual or irresponsible about that at all!!

MrsExtraOrdinary · 05/11/2014 12:48

MrsK I had my 4th at 27. I don't remember looks. Only idiot workman who'd say don't you have a telly love? It was after 4 I got the looks. Grin I really don't care anymore. Be proud you have a lovely family.

MrsExtraOrdinary · 05/11/2014 12:48

Finally got my nuchal scan booked for December 1st. Grin Yippee!

MrsK anyone who thinks they have a right to have an opinion about your choices is a fuckwit. Especially if it's a fucking GP.

Sorry. Feeling very sweary today.
I am sick of feeling ill. The nausea isn't that bad. It's constant but manageable and I am eating fine. But it's the stupid time of year where DD is constantly ill from nursery and I'm just catching cold after cold. Just getting over two weeks of chest infection and I'm now getting another one. Had to take today off work because dd puked at nursery yesterday from coughing so much and so she can't go back for 48 hours. So annoying when I'm feeling yucky anyway. Feeling a bit sorry for myself today.

Plus I don't have anything resembling a bump. Nothing. Am I really pregnant?

MrsExtraOrdinary · 05/11/2014 12:57

I should be 12.5 weeks then. So pleased with that. I bet you can't wait sunbathing. I'm 9 weeks tomorrow. Are you believing in this pregnancy more than you were? ive run out of satsumas Shock

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 05/11/2014 13:00

And I'm worried about our mutual friend who hasn't posted anything today. I wouldn't want to get in touch because the last thing she needs is to feel obliged to update us on her every feeling. But I hope she's doing as ok as she can be.

My sonographer reminded me last wkd that if you're going to mc then the chances are it happens in the first 8 weeks. So once you've got past that point in tact the majority of us should be ok.

Guy my littlest ds had that choke choke puke thing too. Was off nursery yesterday but back today as he didn't puke at nursery so Hoping I got away with it. I'm not to blarzae about gastro but this cough could go on weeks. It's hard for working mums when they are poorly Sad

cuphat · 05/11/2014 13:14

Sorry you're feeling ill, silver and guy, and hope you feel better soon. I mentioned over a week ago that I was ill. I'm feeling much better but I still have a horrid cough, I can't walk outside at all (do any excertion) without having a coughing fit (and I've never smoked in my life!). I rarely go to the doctors so am hoping it just goes away by itself. I feel sorry for the poor baby!

cuphat · 05/11/2014 13:15

That's a good thing to remember, MrsE. I'm still worrying about my 12 week scan despite having had a positive early scan and having no real reason to worry.

I like that statistic Mrs E and really trying to keep that in mind. I'm so nervous about my scan but trying to stay positive. I've not had any signs of mc and my symptoms are still very strong so all positive points. I remember when I was pregnant with DS I just breezed through it without any worries! Although that was before sodding miscarriage took away that innocence!
