Hello everyone. What a busy thread- lots of lovely summer babies.
I had my scan this morning, one healthy bean with a good heartbeat spot on for the dates I thought- 7+1. Very relieved. The consultant told me that I have about 95% chance of continuing pregnancy now. Anyone else been told that statistic? Was nice to hear.

Yay for more early scans.

Guybrush and sunbathing I have NO bump whatsoever (am 8+1). This is my third pg and I'm sure with my last I was showing a bit by now (tho maybe it was bloat). I do have a stupidly retroverted uterus though which I've heard can cause pregnancies to show later.

ots · 05/11/2014 13:38

Thanks sunbathing, I hope yours does too, not too much longer now... 3 weeks today til mine Smile

AnythingNotEverything · 05/11/2014 13:40

Great news about heartbeats spotted in scans!

I'm wolfing down red grapes and thinking of you satsuma addicts. They really are just the trick today.

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 05/11/2014 13:47

iwant I have a severely tilted uterus too. Can I ask if it affected your labours? My last one was very very long and the back pain was so awful- I didn't feel anything in the front. I get period pains in my back as well. Trying to prepare myself for that back pain as I assume it will be the same again. Hopefully not so long this time though.

MrsKrios · 05/11/2014 13:49

I probably won't have a bump for a long while. Am overweight so won't show as early. Counting the days until I can wear some comfy maternity clothes Grin.

MrsExtraOrdinary · 05/11/2014 13:50

Guy my last 3 labours ivd felt all in my back. The last 2 i delivered standing leaning over bed or sink. It took the pressure off my back and gravity aided the path too. I had a ruptured lower bowel with the last one so I completely understand the pain in your bum.

It is your body and you can refuse to be strapped to the bed. They can use a hand held Doppler to listen in to the babies heart beat which is much less invasive and will mean you can be more mobile.

iwantkhaleesiseyebrows · 05/11/2014 13:55

Guybrush- yes I had back to back with both babies (sadly DS1 was born at 22 weeks so the gestation may have caused that).

Both labours were incredibly slow (over 28 hours). DD was born healthy and full term but I had contractions 3 mins apart right from the word go. I ended up with a crash c-section on the end.

Suffice to say I'm not exactly looking forward to labour but as long as we all come out healthy that's all that matters. I have to have an elective c-section this time (I had a 'J' incision last time due to DD's big shoulders so too high risk of uterine rupture for vbac). On the positive I have heard that elective c-sections are a totally different ball game compared with emergencies (am hoping that wasn't the midwife just trying to make me feel better).

Anyhow labour feels like a lifetime away from these early pg worries.

iwantkhaleesiseyebrows · 05/11/2014 13:59

Guybrush - sorry can I ask you a question too please..? Sorry I ought to remember but with all the early scans I'm confused. Have you had one yet and did your uterus effect visibility? I had one two weeks ago at 6weeks but they couldn't see properly as my uterus was so tilted (though what the sonographer could see looked good) so I've got to go in again on Friday for a hopefully clearer look.

ChatEnOeuf · 05/11/2014 14:03

Tentative hello everyone! Currently about 7w with my second, but having had two miscarriages this year I'm a bit terrified...scan booked for 14th so hopefully I'll relax a bit then.

Currently drinking fresh orange juice and eating a lot of toast...

I also have a tilted uterus - all labour pains were in my back and I delivered on my knees resting on the back of the bed. Very quickly.

Boofsandboss · 05/11/2014 14:03

hi everyone, just writing to say hi! this might be silly but im really worried! oh says not too but i am. last night i wiped and there was tiny amount of blood on tissue, wiped 3 times it was there. all very small amount and light pink/red. i had shaved that night but wasnt sure if i cut myself or not but scared the hell out of me and i cant stop worrying even tho i havent had any blood since! am i being too over paranoid?? :(

Chookford · 05/11/2014 14:04

I haven't had an early scan this time. I did have one at 6+3 last time but that was a trans-fanny one so they could see ok. I have read that it can affect visibility though.
I couldn't have delivered standing last time. After 72 hours of regular contractions and no sleep, I needed that epidural.

Omfg a 72 hour labour! Wow that's a whole new definition of long, fingers crossed the next baby comes quicker.

Boofs - I've had spotting in all my early pregnancies - was probably implantation. If it's accompanied by pain then you should call EPU. If you're really worried you could still call EPU anyway - I've always found them reassuring and they've scanned me early (but I think because I've always had cramps with my spotting).

iwantkhaleesiseyebrows · 05/11/2014 14:15

Welcome chat too. Fingers crossed for a smooth pregnancy this time.

cuphat · 05/11/2014 14:32

Iwant, elective sections really are different. I had one with DD and it was an amazing experience, really calm and relaxed. I'm opting for another one this time (and this is bearing in mind that I cried when I found out I had to have one with DD).

Chookford · 05/11/2014 14:35

chat congrats and welcome!

Hi All!
I've been secretly viewing these boards from afar, but at 7 weeks today and feeling a bit run down with nausea, thought I'd sign up and meet you all.
Finding it a little tough as we agreed to not announce our pregnancy until week 12 and I'm the kinda gal that tells everyone everything!
Realised how tough things can get when you don't have family and friends to discuss things with.
Only 5 weeks to go! Smile

iwantkhaleesiseyebrows · 05/11/2014 14:41

thanks cuphat. Your post almost makes me want to cry with relief

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 05/11/2014 14:44

I too have heard that elcs is a lovely and calm experience.

Chookford · 05/11/2014 14:48

Anyone having strange pregnancy dreams yet? I haven't yet this time but I remember some strange ones from last time. One in particular was that I was changing the baby's nappy and its legs fell of. I tried to stick them back on with sellotape and then hide it with the nappy so that dh wouldn't be cross but they kept falling off.
I used to regularly dream that I was breastfeeding a monkey with really sharp teeth too.
