Wow hexy do they book scans in that early on now? My last one wasn't booked until 32 weeks!!

Tranquilitybaby · 04/11/2014 16:33

I meant sections not scans!

Hi Jazzy. Would you mind adding me to the stats list as I'm on an IPad & won't let me do it myself?
I'm 32 with no previous children, EDD of 22nd June and won't be finding out the sex and don't have a booking appointment yet unless you count my GP(?) Can't wait for the day I can fill that 12 week scan box - it's taking forever!

Chookford · 04/11/2014 16:39

smug hooray for the good scan many congrats!

mrsK I'm so pleased to hear you have good news too today, long may it continue!

msJ hope your scan went well thinking of you.

sun I'm with you on the satsumas... They are the future that and strawberry milkshake!! Wink

Gakay - I'm really sorry to hear your news. I hope you are being well looked after and fingers crossed for when/ if u try again. Xx

Welcome boofs & Orville, I'm just a couple of days behind you Orville at 6+5.

First midwife appointment today and it's the same midwife I had last time who is lovely so really pleases with that's pent most of the afternoon resisting the temptation to slink off to bed (I'm working from home today) totally shattered, but seem to be missing the sickness so far again...although I probably just jinxed that!

Glenpip77 · 04/11/2014 16:43

Great news mrs k x

Orville82 · 04/11/2014 16:46

I'm intrigued by this satsuma obsession! May have to give those bad boys a try as that slice of toast with Marmite this morning has well and truly worn off and have zero love for anything normal at the moment. Couldn't even keep down my Dominos last night & will be devastated if it's put me off for life!!! Shock

P.S. Apologies for those I just sent to hug some porcelain at the mention of Marmite.

Chookford · 04/11/2014 16:57

Grin orville it would indeed be a travesty if you went off Dominos for life! Those things are a taste sensation!!!

ots · 04/11/2014 16:59

So pleased for you Mrs K

Love your scan pic smug. Lovely :)

Hope yours went OK too Jupiter.

Ooh marmite, it's one of the few things I can happily eat at the moment. Got some marmite crisps in pound land today and ate 3 bags in a row!

BingoBonkers · 04/11/2014 17:03

Orville if you can't have Dominos then surely there are no food groups left worth bothering with? Wink

I'm struggling food wise. Got a lasagne in the oven prepared by DH. This heightened sense of smell is killing me. How I'm going to eat it I will never know. The half a box of fancy chocolate biscuits I scoffed at 3.30pm probably weren't the best idea but I needed to eat. Strawberry milkshake is vile! Have bought a load of fresh mango. Trying to snack on fruit. Emphasis on the trying rather than actually achieving.

VintageCherry26 · 04/11/2014 17:03

Thanks for this ladies, I may just have to persuade DP to order dominos for dinner now! Wink

Kyz · 04/11/2014 17:05

Sorry everyone ive been rubbish keeping up and haven't done the stats list, have had some bleeding so have been off thread, I've been ill too. Private scan tomorrow. Trying not to worry.

Sorry for not keeping up to date

MrsExtraOrdinary · 04/11/2014 17:11

Send help! I'm running out of satsumas! Shock

kyz please don't worry about keeping stats up to date and things, of course you have had more important things to worry about. I will keep everything crossed that tomorrow brings good news for you.

sun I'm seeing the milkshake thing as a good sign, I had it with dd too so by my logic that's encouraging!

ots · 04/11/2014 17:27

I'm a member of the satsuma bunch too haha. They take me forever to eat though as I need to pick off every bit of pith.

MrsExtraOrdinary · 04/11/2014 17:29

Sunbathing the smell of them is equally as addictive as the taste! I think I could just bury my nose in one if that wasn't considered odd! I've had 4 today already might be 5! But alas nothing else, nothing else is as lovely Wink

jazzyjenbo · 04/11/2014 17:38

Ahh kyz sorry to hear that, i thought u had gone quiet so took it upon myself to take over abit, u have much more important things to think of.

I've updated those who have asked me to, theres afew names who have gone quiet, hope u are all ok?

Orville, welcome, you are due date buddies with sparkle.

Hexy, i've added you on as couldnt see you so have put your elcs date in! How exciting.

MsJupiter · 04/11/2014 17:54

Hi new thread. So sorry to hear your news Gakay and I hope everything turns out well Kyz, I had wondered if you were ok.

I had my scan this afternoon and so happy to say we saw our little dot. Initially the sonographer said she could only see an empty sac but then she did an internal scan and could see everything - the yolk sac and a little shape flickering gently. She confirmed I was 6w so am EDD 29 June. So so happy and relieved. They didn't find a reason for the bleeding but said it was just one of those things.

Thanks to everyone for your support, it means a lot.

SuperGlue · 04/11/2014 17:59

Hello everyone, I am still here but have been very busy in work recently.

I am so sorry to read about all the losses this thread has had since the start, it is heartbreaking and the thing we all dread. My thoughts are with you all.

I am ok, got my flu jab today as we are flying away for a city break on sat and I wanted to have it done before going. Arm is a little sore now though.

I am 9 weeks tomorrow! Nausea has eased off a good bit though boobs are still sore and growing! And yesterday for the first time I was really conscious of my very low abdomen area, felt heavy or like a pressure so I am keeping fingers crossed it is stretching etc.

I have my scan on Thursday morning so excited and very nervous about that. Dh said that he is getting excited today but I am more cautious till after the scan.

I look bloated though and it is getting harder to hide it in work - thank god for colder weather and scarves and coats!

I, too, am going mad on satsumas. And crispy tart apples. And firm juicy pears. Was the same with dd - craved fruit very badly.

Though having said that I scoffed a bigmac, fries and fanta at lunch time as I had to work late and was ravenous when I got out. hmmm...

Chookford · 04/11/2014 18:16

msJ massive congrats on the good scan, such a relief for you.

cuphat · 04/11/2014 18:20

SunbathingCat you've hit the nail on the head with the mat pay. The "qualifying week" is 15 weeks before your due date and it's based on the average pay from your previous payday, back 8 weeks is how I read it. This includes overtime, bonuses but also deductions. It's about the payment, not when you worked it. But with any luck, some of you may get any Xmas bonuses included in your first 6 weeks SMP!

This link is pretty useful: www.nidirect.gov.uk/statutory-maternity-pay-how-it-is-worked-out
