Not showing at all here either (am 9 weeks). With my last pregnancy I definitely had a small bump at 16 weeks but no one at work noticed I was pregnant until I was 24 weeks as it just wasn't obvious.

Phryn · 11/11/2014 17:34

I'm 10/10+1 have podge but no real bump! Am looking forward to actually having a bump rather than feeling more chubby than usual in the stomach department!

Chookford · 11/11/2014 17:38

I have a bump I can't hide, it's ridiculous!

Another one here who can't watch the JL advert without crying, they sure know how to make an Xmas weepy!

Now technically I'm supposed to tell work as soon as I find out I'm pregnant, but have been Googling finding out about flying when pregnant and it seems to pose little or no risk. The idea of being in that office on ground duties has been a natural contraceptive for me for years so am putting it off as long as possible, especially as I'd actually end up working more hours for less money!

I have leave on the run up to Xmas so if I can get away with it until the 15th Dec then I'll tell them when I'm supposed to go back on the 24th, and hey presto, the whole of Christmas off and a nice long weekend! Just have to try not to put a passenger's head through a wall in the meantime & keep up with my "pre Xmas diet" to keep me off the booze that will blatantly not be working with my little pot belly increasing on a weekly basis!

Bazza2 · 11/11/2014 18:16

I'm showing. I've always had a bit of a tummy but this is different. Scan is on Monday so I can come out then, and if it's gone wrong I'll get pissed as pigshit then go on a crash diet.

I made the mistake of watching the 2012 snowman one immediately after the penguin one. Inadvisable. Thank goodness I was alone, DP already probably thinks I'm unbalanced after I cried over a dropped teaspoon.

MsJupiter · 11/11/2014 18:20

One good thing about being fat is although I can tell my shape has changed it won't be obvious to anyone else for a while. I have recently lost 2st and no-one had noticed that so I think my secret is safe.

I don't feel very pregnant although when I was talking to DH about it I realised I feel nauseous, bloated, emotional and exhausted so I guess I am showing symptoms. Maybe due to the bleed I am feeling cautious? I am still having brown gunk a week on from the scan, only when I have a poo though (sorry TMI). Part of me still feels like it isn't going to end well.

cuphat · 11/11/2014 18:25

My husband thought something serious had happened when he saw me after I'd watched the JL advert!

Actually, I think height might make a difference. With the people I know at least, I think taller people tend to show later as baby has more space to hide. DD certainly hid her size well (I'm 5'6" so just slightly above average)!

sparkle17 · 11/11/2014 18:41

I can't wait to get a bump. If i dont show till 20 plus weeks i might be a bit disappointed. Is that bad? Someone with the same build as me at work didn't show till 26 weeks.

Got my booking in appointment tomorrow. Strangely excited.

purplebiro · 11/11/2014 18:52

Thanks all - I hate not being able to plan ahead but I guess I'll have to suck it up and I suspect it will be good practice for when sprog arrives. If I'm absolutely honest part of my mat wear motivation for that wedding is that I will know no one there (except DP and his dad, sis and bro in law) and - since I am sporting a non baby related gut in the right place (to the extent that I have been asked when I was due - long before BFP - I am a classic apple shape albeit tall so it looks quite bump like) and I legitimately CAN wear mat clothes rather than doing all I can to hide the bulge - I rather like the idea of embracing it and being able to feel "normal". I know I should love my curves etc but I don't and were I not pregnotron I'd be trying to get rid of them.

Newgirl33 · 11/11/2014 18:53

Hi all,

I posted on the first June thread but have struggled to keep up with all the threads. Trying to make more of an effort so I am back! :)

I'm 9 weeks now and apart from the tiredness and constant hunger I don't feel/look pregnant at all. Tummy is getting a bit podgy, but I think that's just the 2 bags of crisps I've been eating a day!! Blush I'm also addicted to clementines - oh well at least they are healthy!

Would be grateful if someone could add my stats to the spreadsheet. I'm 32, expecting DC1 on 17/6/15 and having booking appt this Friday. Thanks!

Could anyone tell me whether I should arrange the flu jab with my GP or just mention to the midwife?

purplebiro · 11/11/2014 18:55

Height certainly makes a difference with non-baby weight showing for me - which is ace when you put on a stone and no one can tell - not so ace when you think "oh well fuck it then" and put on four and then have to get it off againConfused

purplebiro · 11/11/2014 18:56

I just phoned GP and asked for appointment and told them I'm pregnant. I assume they check the records at some point.

cuphat · 11/11/2014 18:57

Midwives here don't have anything to do with the flu jabs, you have to arrange it with a nurse, so check with reception. My midwife did advise me to wait till after 12 weeks though, so of course I have to wait now she's said that and just hope I don't catch the flu in the meantime.

Newgirl33 · 11/11/2014 19:11

Thanks cuphat and biro.

I'll give my GP a call.

Bazza2 · 11/11/2014 20:03

I'm short enough that my GP thought it worth noting it in advance to my midwife. I'll be looking like Mr Greedy by Christmas.

Zaccheryquack · 11/11/2014 20:09

I think I definitely have a bump (not sure how much of it is due to current love of carbs!). Saw my friend who is 18 weeks at the weekend and she is tiny - looks like she has eaten a satsuma or a small dinner. She made me giggle as she is in her maternity jeans already. I put it off as long as possible, which is ridiculous really. Last time, I was using a hair bobble to extend the waist on my normal jeans!

Orville love the fact you are managing to keep it all a secret and do all that travelling. I imagine it is probably a bit of a shock doing ground duty when you are used to all that travelling!

Am jealous of all the scans coming up. Still 2 1/2 weeks until mine!!

Zaccheryquack · 11/11/2014 20:09

p.s. how do I join the FB group?

FreeWee · 11/11/2014 20:21

Wish I could say my sickness was getting better but am now on cyclizine 3 x a day. Not been sick yet but nearly several times a day in morning and evening. Can't wait till tea time is done & I can sit on the sofa for 3 hours! 9 weeks on Friday and no booking in appointment or scan date yet. Need to call the scan people soon actually as DH is a teacher so can only attend on Tues & Weds afternoons. They can be flexible like that can't they?

DD is 20 months & had 3 people already this week ask when I'm planning on having another. Essentially they're just asking if I'm planning on having lots of sex soon! Grin

AnythingNotEverything · 11/11/2014 20:43

Zacchery - send me a PM with your real name and a description of your profile pic and I'll find you and befriend then add you.

Which reminds me, Alis was it you I couldn't find?

Kyz · 11/11/2014 20:47

Evening all,

quick post from me as i'm really tired again, I fell asleep earlier for a bit, DS woke me up leaning on my face for a cuddle. Lovely stuff!

I can't remember when I started showing last time but my mum said it was quite early on - i'll have to dig out my pictures, I do have them somewhere! This time I have a belly anyway Blush but there's definitely something under the fat! My scan is next monday so not long now :)

msj I would guess at the brown stuff being due to the effort put in when you're going to the loo? Easier said than done but try not to worry, it does sound like you've got plenty of symptoms plus you have your DS keeping you on the go too so you've less time to sit there and think about the symptoms so much :)

Hope everyone has a good day tomorrow, I may take DS to the fair (it's in town this week for four days) but i'm undecided so far as to when i'm going with him. Depends how tired I am I think!

Tryingreallyhard84 · 11/11/2014 21:01

I keep hearing differing things...some people say that as I'm tiny (read under 5ft) I'll show quickly but others say I'll be able to hide it. Who know. Only early at the moment so I'll wait and see.

Well, after an exhausting and nausea filled day at work, followed by a healthy tea of McCain micro chips liberally doused in vinegar Grin I'm now utterly shattered. I have a couple of days off this week to use up annual leave so intend to snooze. Although I'd love to get to the gym as I was quite active up until 3 weeks ago. All depends on energy levels.

Hope everyone is doing okay today.

FreeWee · 11/11/2014 21:25

Shit I'm an idiot. Only 8 weeks on Friday. Such a l o n g way to go Sad

jazzyjenbo · 11/11/2014 22:09

Evening all,
Newgirl and wiggly, your stats are now on the list, if you need anything else adding let me know.
Quiet afew 12 week scans coming up now, if anyone else has a date they would like adding (and can't do it themselves) let me know x

heidibuttons · 11/11/2014 22:16

Hi all,
I have been lurking and slowly catching up with the previous threads - still got a lots to wade through as sitting at the computer makes me nauseous (?) so I am doing a few pages at a time.
I am pregnant with my first, aged 36, due around the 6th June. I have had my booking appointment and a scan Monday 10th Nov at 10+1. Got to go back on the 27th as baby was too small for what they need to measure. If someone could add me to the stats page that would be lovely!
I have told close family and a few friends early on, but have enjoyed hearing about how folk have been doing on this thread. Hopefully once I have caught up I can add some stories and ideas of my own.
Thanks!

jazzyjenbo · 11/11/2014 22:31

Welcome heidi, i've added you to the stats list x
