Eating my 5th 'orange type fruit' of the day.

I have finally decided (after sampling many, many versions and brands of satsuma, mandarin, tangerine and clementine from various shops) that the winner is....

Jaffa clementines from Tesco. I absolutely love them. Bought 4 bags of them today and can't wait to get through them. Smile

Chookford · 10/11/2014 21:38

Yeah I think I may be the first one, I'm going to bury my head in the sand until after weds.. Thank you for updating the stats Grin

Great news on the scan, Wiggly. (Are you a cyclist, btw, or "just" a fan? I used to be quite serious and have s beautiful road bike which has been languishing in my parents' cellar since I was pg with dd Hmm)

Exciting to have some 12 week scans coming up too. I don't have a date for mine yet. I'm 9+3 now and have decided to chase it next week if still nothing. Ours are organised based on info given at booking in, though, so I only had that last Tuesday. Patience..!

Am still feeling rubbish Hmm Very short of temper with dd too which is making me really sad and life pretty miserable. She's usually such a good girl and I can't work out if she's playing me up or if my fuse is just very short. Either way we're both miserable! I'm stressed about mil coming to stay this weekend too. I just wanted to sleep last weekend, and cried through most mealtimes, I really don't need mil witnessing that!!

jazzyjenbo · 10/11/2014 22:23

Morning all. Excited for those of you having scans this week. Mine is 2 weeks tomorrow and I'm excited and dreading it all at the same time. Been feeling so uneasy the past couple of days, like something isn't quite right. I have no signs or symptoms that anything has gone wrong, I'm just so scared that I'm going to have the scan and find out that the baby has died. I'm still feeling sick all the time though so hopefully its ok.
I'm just so scared about how we'd cope with another MC, especially as it would be a much later one this time. And worried about the age gap between the DCs getting bigger. If this one sticks there will be just about 4 years between them, but if it doesn't the gap is going to keep getting bigger. I know this is silly.

Sorry this is all jumbled, just really helps to have a place to talk about my worries.

Hope you all have a lovely day, I have a meeting with DS' key worker this morning to find out how well he's settling into nursery and I'm really looking forward to it :)

Orville82 · 11/11/2014 07:07

Yay for 12 weeks scans. Exciting times for you ladies!

I wish I was at that stage, but still haven't seen a single healthcare professional which just seems bizarre to me. I know I'm only 8+1 but am getting paranoid I've made the whole thing up in my weird little mind! Have a GP app on Thurs, followed by my early scan on Fri which can't come soon enough. Don't want to fast forward the whole pregnancy as it's my first one, but maybe just the next 4 weeks would be good.

Am also fearful that people at work my be starting to guess. It's a very gossip driven company and I'm apparently in "Gold medal position" for the next pregnancy announcement. The problem is, it's a very sociable job and I'm blatantly not drinking & have a bloated little pot belly which is an issue in a bikini (yes I wear a bikini on work time, and no I'm not an exotic dancer) Grin. Not sure I can last another 4 weeks. I don't like the idea of denying my pregnancy but don't want people to know yet either. Nosy buggers!

Phryn · 11/11/2014 07:38

Yay wiggly for a good early scan - so exciting!

ots do voice your worries when you have them - we're all hear to listen. This pregnancy business, especially the early worry is so much harder than I thought it would be. Especially after a loss - all the what ifs can be so hard. Just remember "today we are pregnant" and continuing or fluctuating nausea is a good sign all is well.

Also as the hormones ramp up the emotions will too - including worry sadly. I was in tears last night over how much I want to meet this little bean, which was set of by googling pics of 10 week ultrasounds to see what it looked like yesterday, which led to youtube videos of scans, which led to youtube videos of people finding out they had twins or that they were pregnant after miscarriage. Defo feeling that my capacity to get more worried or more tearful is bigger than usual at the moment.

Orville am very intrigued about what you do! Do tell us (if you feel comfortable to do so). I've been surviving in work in big jumpers as my Stomach is looking more podgy than a bump at the moment! A bikini sounds very tricky!

Finally... I've joined the satsuma gang. Bought a packet and had one yesterday. Enjoyed it but don't think I'll be eating 10 a day quite yet Wink .

ots · 11/11/2014 08:02

Thanks phryn Thanks just after writing my post I spent 10 minutes gagging at the sight of DH's porridge so I know the hormones are still there. I need to just keep in mind that it will probably be ok and just hold onto that.

I've been crying loads too, about things that would normally make me Hmm. Someone shared a video on Facebook of Jay Z and Beyonce at their concert with home videos of their daughter in the background. I had very wet eyes after. Oh and on YouTube I saw the video of Tom from McFly's wedding speech and got very emotional (recommend people watch this, even if you're not a McFly fan) :)

Bazza2 · 11/11/2014 08:05

November-December has always been a time for serious satsuma consumption for me, and this year is enhanced by you lot all talking about them. Ten a day is pretty standard for me, and at this time of year I can easily be located by following the trail of satsuma peel and chocolate coin wrappers I leave in my wake. I've often found them in my bra when I get undressed, and considering the boob size increase, I imagine I can fit quite a few in my cleavage.

Bazza2 · 11/11/2014 08:08

Orville I think we are all curious.........

Orville82 · 11/11/2014 08:14

Haha I'm airline cabin crew so usually spend my days up in the air for hours at a time, followed by on a beach/by a pool with a cocktail or 12. I had to bribe the barman the other day to give me every cocktail I asked for, but with no alcohol & not tell anyone. This whole pregnancy thing is making me very devious!

Oh Phryn I know what you mean! DH has banned me from Google now as I literally spend every spare moment I have looking up my symptoms or lack thereof. I'm freaking myself out on a daily basis. I've now resorted to my SIL instead, unbeknown to her as she's 3 weeks ahead of me and has told close family. I'm sure she thinks I'm becoming a little over familiar Blush.

JennyOfOldstones · 11/11/2014 08:48

Ooh that sounds like a fun job orville but very hard to hide a pregnancy! Will you have to stop flying at a certain point?

ots if you are feeling emotional I would steer clear of the John Lewis ad...

I can see the dangers of googling but can't stop myself! Didn't have any questions for the midwife at booking in because I had googled them all or found the answers on here!

ots · 11/11/2014 09:05

Too late Jenny I've already cried buckets at that Grin

MrsExtraOrdinary · 11/11/2014 09:14

So glad the sun in shining down south today. ?? it does make you feel so much better. Smile

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 11/11/2014 09:37

Orville that sounds really hard to hide! I can't imagine being cheery cheery cabin crew while feeling so icky. Another mn friend from my first ante natal thread is expecting again and said she had to tell work as soon as she knew as not allowed to continue flying. Different airlines must have very different rules. I thought it was a bit intrusive of them!

Swimming day for us although no bikinis for me Grin
