tori I really wanted to donate my cord too but it's not available in any of the hospitals near me. Seems such a shame for it to be chucked away as medical waste when it could save a life :(. Good on you for donating Thanks

My hand/wrist is playing up again tonight so off to bed now... My turn for a lay in tomorrow yay!

MrsExtraOrdinary · 08/11/2014 22:13

Chook my brain didn't notice spelling errors! You should see some of my fearful typing today. I'm blaming baby Brain. What dose are you on? I'm on 250mg daily, I expect it to go up to 300mg quite soon. ShockWhich will be the highest dose ive ever been on

Tranquilitybaby · 08/11/2014 22:50

Does anyone know what round ligament pain feels like? Is it like a burning pain.

I think it's more bladder pain, but about 5 mins after I've had a wee, I get this burning type pain across my stomach, my back, hips and occasionally down one leg. I've googled and round ligament pain comes up.

It's scary as it's similar to when I had the ectopic, but obviously I've already seen baby is in the right place this time.

Tranquilitybaby · 08/11/2014 22:54

Anyone looking for maternity jeans, next have lots online in their clearance section. I ordered some for £10 & £14.

Gr33dyeggs · 08/11/2014 23:05

Hi all.
Just an update.
Spoke to my mum last night and told her I was pregnant but likely miscarrying and she offered to come round today and then have DS tonight. Bleeding turned red today so went to A n E. Was triaged to EGU quickly but had to wait 2.5 hrs to be seen there. Swabs only taken. No bloods despite asking and no scan at weekends (which I expected). Cervix closed and it looks like old blood. Heard similar when i had 1st miscarriage. Scan booked for Wednesday, but advised to call monday to see if I can be seen. In some pain now too. Will rest up and call in sick next week.

Next do some nice mat clothes. Also I have pumpkin patch stuff from 5 yrs ago (if its still going?)

FreeWee · 08/11/2014 23:06

Under the bump jeans are good in the early days when you just need breathing out room. After that over the bump become your best friend! Was gutted when they started falling down a few weeks post birth.

FreeWee · 08/11/2014 23:07

Sorry to hear your update Gr33dy. Hope the pain eases soon.

Alisvolatpropiis · 08/11/2014 23:09

So sorry to see your update Gr33.
Thanks and hugs xx

teeniedeenie34 · 08/11/2014 23:19

Thanks for the heads up Tranquility I was in New Look today looking for maternity jeans and their selection was really poor, plus hardly any sizes. Managed to get one pair there from Next for £14 which is fab so can pop them in my wardrobe for when I need them. Will defo be going online to get a few more things as I get bigger and never really considered ebay before, but will now!

teeniedeenie34 · 08/11/2014 23:19

So sorry to see your update Gr33dy, big hugs to you Flowers

Tranquilitybaby · 08/11/2014 23:26

gr33dy thinking of you, I think it's terrible they can't scan you at the weekend though. I was scanned on a Sunday with my ectopic. X

Gr33dyeggs · 08/11/2014 23:36

Tranquillity - while I was waiting I googled NICE guidelines and they recommend a scan, internal exam not even mentioned. I did question it but she said to check if they can determine where bleeding is from. Might enter a comment/complaint regardless of outcome, it might prompt the hospital to review its service and prevent others going through this.

Zaccheryquack · 09/11/2014 05:28

Sorry to hear that you have such worry gr33dy. It seems so unfair when they make you wait. I had a mmc a few years ago and just turned up at the hospital (may have a got a bit confused by the advice from the lady at the private scan), was very lucky as they saw me straight away so only had a worrying weekend to contend with, otherwise I think they might have made me wait until the middle of the week too.

cuphat · 09/11/2014 07:43

Thinking of you gr33dy. I hope they can see you tomorrow.

ChatEnOeuf · 09/11/2014 07:55

Oh Gr33dy I'm sorry to hear that. I hope you can rest and the pain settles.

I got some lovely stuff from Debenham's Red Herring range last time around. Didn't have a bump until the height of summer though, so I think I'll need some warmer bits this time! I have a lovely knitted dress that will stretch to allow a little bump in, and my trousers will be useful again.

Phryn · 09/11/2014 08:14

Thinking of you Gr33dy. It sucks you have to wait - sounds very sensible to call in sick until you have the scan. Regardless of the outcome resting is a good idea right now and work can wait. Hope you have some good real life support too. The comment/complaint to the hospital sounds like a good idea - this just shouldn't happen to people.

Will be hoping for a positive scan and that you don't have to wait till Wed x

cuphat · 09/11/2014 08:49

I agree with the recommendation for Debenhams Red Herring maternity stuff. I had a nightmare finding clothes on the high street last time; most stores (including next) only sold it online, and I can't buy clothes online. Debenhams Red Herring had a really good range instore. I lived in their over the bump trousers, they are so comfy.

DD was a June baby so my maternity clothes are all suitable for this time too; I'll just buy a couple of bits this time. I didn't buy a maternity coat last time, I managed to get away with wearing my usual coat due to not being heavily pregnant over winter, so I won't bother this time either. I also found a few nice bits in New Look and H&M.

bubalou · 09/11/2014 09:37

Hi all,

Well far too much to catch up on so will just comment on what I remember.

Re maternity clothing - when I had DS who is now 6 (August baby) they were selling maternity summer clothes in the pre and post Xmas sales. I got maternity linen trousers, vests and dresses from about £3 each so well worth a try! Most of the time I was able to get away with non maternity tops etc and just needed a few pairs of leggings and jeans.

Had my mw booking in appointment. Was very long! The lady was nice enough though. Our towns birthing unit where DS was born (and myself, and my mum and my nan!) was closed down and demolished a couple of years back so my appointment was in the new unit. It's very nice and they have continued the lovely theme of double beds in the rooms so your OH can sleep over the night with you - just like we did with DS. They also have 2 birthing suites with pools etc which is nice.

Everything was fine - bmi is 23 which is good I think (although I don't really think much about them) urine test was fine, blood pressure a little low but I've always had slightly low blood pressure, she took my blood and has left a massive bruise on my arm which is killing me! Confused

Nothin now until next scan which is in 10 days now so not long to wait. I don't know if it's because it's my second, because I have lost weight and it shows more but over the last couple of days my mum seems to have 'popped out' a little.

I'm 10+2 now so also have a 'kumquat'! Bizarre fruits I agree on ovia app!

I'm not worried about bonding with a second but I know this is due to the age gap. When DS was 2 I wouldn't have been able to imagine loving another dc. However I think because he is 6 and I have known for a while I wanted a second (plus he is so grown up and acting like a teenager) having a baby seems so different and the time just feels right. Smile

bubalou · 09/11/2014 09:39

Not my mum has popped out - my bump!!!

Bloody autocorrect shit phone!!!! Confused

Chookford · 09/11/2014 10:36

mrsE same here 250mg daily and expecting it to go up soon!

gr33 really hoping everything is ok for you, sorry you have this worry Flowers

Hi all,

I'm going to leave until after I have my scan. I'm driving myself bonkers with irrational worries and spending too much time with Doctor Google. You'll probably be on thread 5 by the time I reappear!

Wish everyone happy news with their upcoming scans.

Another one here wigging out about the sudden disappearance of symptoms. Up until Friday I had been feeling terrible (although not anywhere near as bad as others on here) and then I just felt better. I've just over a week to wait til my 12 week scan, so I just have to wait until then to know. I saw my family last week and told them. I hope I don't have to give them bad news next week. I think I need a satsuma.........
