Tori - I've booked the £400 package which is the viability scan and harmony blood test at 10+3 and then back again at 12+3 for results and nuchal scan.

If you go later than that, it's £500

Boofsandboss · 08/11/2014 08:38

Hey I just need some advise really, maybe abit tmi but recently been getting a lot of discharge and the other day I realised that down below is changing shape :/ is that normal? Also I've been getting a lot of discomfort down there! A dull ache sometimes shooting pains, mainly at night! But had lower back pain nearly everyday! Is that a sign of spd?

Gr33dyeggs · 08/11/2014 09:21

Hi Boofs. Increased discharge is normal. Not sure about the discomfort - there's increased blood supply which may account for that. Changing shape- I've been experiencing bartholian cysts 'down there' since week 7, swell to pea size then go down. As for spd pains - I have no advice sorry!

BingoBonkers · 08/11/2014 09:26

Back pain etc could be due to ligaments stretching. Least that has been my experience.

Emz1989 · 08/11/2014 10:05

I've been having low abdomen cramps (almost pelvic!) and aching lower back, spoke to gp who reassured me that this is likely to just be completely normal uterus stretching! Such a bizarre thought, as I still don't really 'feel' pg. I've had sickness, I'm unusually constipated and I'm incredibly bloated so that probably sounds strange... I just still can't get my head around the fact that there's something growing inside me! Is that normal with a 1st pg? I'm already worrying that I should have bonded more or feel more of an attachment by now... I'm 7 weeks tomorrow!

WillowHouse · 08/11/2014 10:20

emz i had such a horrendus pregnancy with dd2 that i totally and utterly went into denial about there actually being a baby. Minute she was born i utterly and totally bonded. So you can hate pregnancy Wink

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 08/11/2014 12:41

Emz I have no idea how it would be possible to bond with a baby at this stage when you just feel sick and tired! Seeing scans and feeling kicks all helps but I didn't really properly realise I was having a baby until I was holding her in my arms. Even then, I didn't fall in love with her instantly- that was gradual.

However you feel is ok.

I am struggling more this time to accept that I can be having another baby. A different baby. How could I possibly have a baby that isn't dd?

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 08/11/2014 12:42

I have lower back pain too boofs. Have a hot water bottle permanently attached. It's very much like my period pains.

ots · 08/11/2014 13:38

10 weeks today and baby is the size of a kumquat... What on earth is a kumquat?!

Had a meeting with a housing allocations manager yesterday regarding our current situation. Basically told us there's not much they can do to help, and that we are legally entitled to stay in the flat after our notice has expired as the landlord will need to take us to court. He didn't seem to understand that we don't want to ruin our good relationship with our landlord, we still want a reference from him etc. Also the building is becoming unsafe and he really needs to start the repair work, but can't until we have moved out! We're just going to start looking for another private rental, although that's hard because we get a small housing benefit top up and its very difficult to find a landlord who will accept housing benefit. Time is a little bit against us too, as we need to know roughly where we'll be living by September as need to start applying for schools. The cut off date is January so really need to be settled by then. At least we've got plenty of time before baby is due though.

Hope you're all having a nice weekend, sorry for my 'me me me' post!

JennyOfOldstones · 08/11/2014 14:07

That sounds rubbish ots the housing people sound very unhelpful! I hope you get something sorted soon.

I have the ovia app and it said wild strawberry, southern pecan and kumquat. I have no idea what size these are or if they are getting bigger!

MrsExtraOrdinary · 08/11/2014 14:34

Was going to treat myself to a maternity coat but serephine sre already out of stock. Hoping ive not left it too late. It's getting chilly.

FreeWee · 08/11/2014 14:45

Re not bonding with the baby yet. I think the 20 week scan where you start seeing features is a real high point as is when you are sure you have felt a kick. Until then it's sometimes easy to convince yourself you're not really pregnant or that there's not really a baby growing inside you. Gets more real I promise!

Alisvolatpropiis · 08/11/2014 14:57

I won't about the bonding thing too. Makes sense it happens later rather than when you're bone crushingly knackered and nauseous

Alisvolatpropiis · 08/11/2014 14:58

*wondered not won't.

Kyz · 08/11/2014 14:58

Afternoon all :) Am feeling mighty tired, still got a cold and can't sleep, and when I do sleep DS wakes up because he has a cold too. Grumble grumble.

Sunbathing It is, they are lovely cats - I'd love a Maine Coon! I have the 6 raggies and a moggie boy too, so I think that's probably enough kittehs to be going on with! Also, yes to the digestion, I find I get really hungry, eat, then feel bloated and horrible and have loads of funny noises and gargles coming from inside! It must be the slowing down of digestion.

glad your appointment went well willow

morgan please try not to worry, my symptoms have come and gone a couple of times and all is well here, so i'm sure you and baby are ok :)

phryn so pleased for you, that's fab news :)

sending you positive thoughts gr33dy

hi clearly, welcome :) I don't think it's weird to want twins, I would've loved twins, but we've just one in there (but one is lovely too!)

your scan isn't too far away jazzy fingers crossed everything is ok, i'm sure it is, I am 11+5 and my symptoms have returned after a few days off.

fab news iwant re your scan :)

glad it went well wiggly glad you got a reassurance scan too

sorry for your worry glenpip fingers crossed all is well though, hopefully you're just a little out on your dates and everything is ok

hi emz those icecubes sound lovely!

I'd like to fast forward to the bit where you don't feel yukky, because I loved being pregnant last time past that besides the spd anyway. I also LOVE the bit when baby moves, really moves. Love it :) it's the best feeling, unless they're beating you up from the inside that is (my ds had a ruddy good kick on him)

no idea what a kumquat is either! I'm ok with my next sizing, at 12 weeks baby will be the size of a plum, which is ok cos I know what a plum is at least!

ots that sounds rubbish, I hope you manage to find somewhere, surely the housing people could've been a little more helpful?!

Ugh, time to get ds up from his nap and go shopping. I don't mind the getting ds bit up you understand, but ugh to shopping!

Alisvolatpropiis · 08/11/2014 14:59

Mrs

Asos has a really nice maternity cost at the moment. It's pastel coloured and high necked.

cuphat · 08/11/2014 15:31

The moment I felt I bonded with DD was at the gender scan at 16 weeks. Until then she'd been 'a baby' but once we found out she was a girl I could refer to her as she and imagine her as a little person. Nothing can prepare you for the reality once they're born though!

Kumquat, haha! The book I'm reading (day by day pregnancy book) shows you the size and roughly how they'll actually look every week.

Have just eaten a share bag of Doritos to myself. Safe to say my appetite is back Blush.

Can you all come and sit on me please?

MrsExtraOrdinary · 08/11/2014 16:31

A kumquat indeed! So at a guess mine and sunbathing's babies will be full blown satsumas by about next week! Wink How many are you having daily sunbathing? I've moved into buying them but the crate!

Guybrush, I am finding the idea of having a baby that isn't dd a bit hard to get used to as well! I think I'm going through normal "second time mum" emotions but it's still worrying me that at the moment all I feel I guilt that I am so tired and stroppy with dd.

This morning we went to our normal fitness class on the grounds that mentally I would feel better for it! Instead, physically I feel even worse and mentally I am terrified I've overdone it and something's about to go wrong! Can't win!

Ots that sounds supremely unhelpful of the housing people. Hope you find something suitable within budget soon.

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 08/11/2014 16:58

Ps feeling left out at lack of fruit comparison!! Will have to get one of these apps...

teeniedeenie34 · 08/11/2014 16:58

Emz I feel exactly the same re getting my head round the fact that there is a baby growing inside me... Plus the fact that time seems to be standing still since I got my BFP isn't helping either. I'm 6+4 today and got my booking in 26th Nov. Seems an age away!

teeniedeenie34 · 08/11/2014 16:59

Mine is a blueberry this week Grin
