Tranq I'm going to FMC on 28th for my 10wk/first half of Harmony test. It can't come quick enough.

BingoBonkers · 07/11/2014 16:08

Tori the Harmony test has to be around the 10 week mark and then you go back at 12 weeks for the nuchal scan and blood results.

AnythingNotEverything · 07/11/2014 16:35

I had my booking app today. Hope to get a scan date through in a fortnight. I'm on midwifery led care but will be referred for a GTT to check for GD as we suspect I had this towards the end last time.

It's a real roller-coaster though, isn't it? So chuffed to finally be booking in, but then a long chat going through the extra screening at the 12 week scan has really brought me down. We didn't have them done last time and in the end I wish I had, but it seems like a worry now. Silly really as I'm only 33. Typical pregnancy - progress and worry go hand in hand. Like a PP I don't think we'd have an amnio. Our local private clinic do a Harmony type test for £350 and while that's a huge some of money, it's diagnostic and risk free. Seems like a better option to me.

Glenpip77 · 07/11/2014 16:36

Am now in limbo. Had an early reassurance scan and it had done anything but!! By my dates I should be 7+1 but scan dates me at 5-6 weeks with no sign of fetal pole or yolk sac. Sonography said this was quite normal for between 5-6 weeks if that is indeed what I am....I'm not overly confident that I could be over a week out on my dates though. Got to go back in 10 days for a rescan to see if anything has changed. On the plus side no cramping or bleeding and I don't feel anything like I did with my miscarriage before. On the minus side symptoms are not really prevalent anymore. So who knows, I'm hoping it all turns out for the best, but not getting my heart set on it though.....I hate waiting Hmm

No it was an internal scan as they could see anything when they tried an abdominal....doesn't look good as lots of people say they have seen fetal pole and sac at 6 weeks and I can believe I am over a week behind on my dates

I find pregnancy to be one constant worry. I'm currently worrying I unnecessarily about the DC getting chicken pox during my first trimester. Why? Absolutely no reason but it's in my head. Someone kick me!

Chookford · 07/11/2014 17:40

Glenpip sorry you are having to go through this worry but as sun said if you are not 100% on when you ovulated it is very easy to be out by a week or so.. I will keep everything crossed that this is the case Flowers

Glenpip hope the rescan has positive news for you.

Tori if you can't get the Harmony tests done in time, ask the obs/mw team about NIFTY. Did make me chuckle that it thinks 10mls is a small amount of blood though!

Twins run in our family too...not even thinking about that again!

Emz1989 · 07/11/2014 20:10

Hi ladies,
I posted in the previous June thread and have been following this one closely, although haven't posted for a while. Hope you don't mine me getting involved now!
So sorry to hear some did the sad news and worry on this thread, sending love to you all.
I believe I'm now 6+5, but hadn't been off the pill for long before I got my bfp so not completely sure of cycle lengths and when I ov'd... Booking in appt on Mon so hopefully will all feel more 'real' then!
Haven't had much sickness yet but I've recently made some citrus ice cubes - they're supposed to contain electrolytes and help with sickness and nausea. I'm not sure of the science behind them but they are so yummy and might appeal to those of you munching satsumas!
I squeezed 2 lemons, 2 limes (I'm sure you could swap for oranges!) a big blob of honey, a small pinch of salt and plenty of water. Blitzed them together and froze in an ice cube tray, so refreshing and addictive!! X

MW called me to make booking appt. For 3 weeks time. I will be 12+1!!! Maybe as it's second time around they're not in a rush to see me? I can wait. Interestingly she told me my Trust is offering a fetal DNA test (ie Harmony but not the Harmony) instead of amnio if women come back as high risk onnthe NT. The are running a pilot study apparently. I'm happy with that.

ememsmum · 07/11/2014 21:39

Oh and just when I thought the nausea was waning, it has come back with a vengence. Everyone was commenting on how pasty I was today. Nice.

Elizabethnaylor1980 · 07/11/2014 22:45

Wow this thread moves fast, still getting the hang of it all. I am due to have my booking in app with mw on Thursday, it can't come quick enough. I know this is going to sound a really stupid question (please bear with) but what happens at it?.

Thelovecats · 07/11/2014 23:10

It's just a lot of questions about family history, medical history, lifestyle that kind of thing.

AnythingNotEverything · 07/11/2014 23:11

I had mine today Elizabeth. It was basically lots of questions, some blood taken, a carbon monoxide test, and form filling. It took an hour, and we whizzed through as this is no3 for me.

I also got my flu jab as there was an open clinic on, and was reminded that the NHS no longer recommends you drink any alcohol at all during pregnancy as they don't know what harm it causes. Boo hiss.

Phryn · 07/11/2014 23:47

"ememsmum* I'm in the pasty club too. Am greatful for CC cream and annoyed I can't find my blusher.

After the positive scan earlier and nearly 13 hrs of no spotting had a bit more brownish stuff this evening. It's almost like someone just dropped a few drops of brown food dye into my cm if that makes any kind of sense. Trying to hold onto how good the bean looked earlier and how there is no visible reason for this to be happening so it might just be placenta implantation / womb getting rid of tiny amounts of old blood it doesn't want in there.

Anyone else wish they could just fast forward around 10 weeks?

Phryn I am totally with you on the fast forwarding. Sorry that you are having more spotting. I had a full on bleed at 14weeks last time. For a whole weekend. Was beside myself. Turned out to be one of those unexplained things and DC 2 was find and dandy. Aside from being breech for the last four weeks or so. Spent most of that time with my backside in the air trying to spin the baby back.

BingoBonkers · 08/11/2014 07:53

I'm seeing my MW next week to be booked in. Same one for my previous too. She said on the phone "I've received a letter that you are expecting another baby" My response was to laugh nervously and say that it was a bit of a surprise. She told me not to worry as hers was too. I wasn't expecting to hear from her til closer to 10wks. I'll be 8wks tomorrow.

Sun June feels forever away doesn't it?

MrsExtraOrdinary · 08/11/2014 08:04

Phryn I certainly wish I could fast forward to march. Not sure how it's going to Pan out until then with no iron at all. It's coming up for my busiest time of year in my business and I've just taken on a very large order. I'll have to pass some of it onto the field that work for me as I will kill myself making it.

cuphat · 08/11/2014 08:14

Those ice cubes do sound lovely!

I'd like to fast forward to 16 weeks or so but definitely not to June! It does get more enjoyable - I loved pregnancy last time and think I will this time, once I get into the second trimester. Plus I want to make the most of the time I have left with DD (17 months) before there's another baby to look after.
