Great news Phryn

Gr33dyeggs · 07/11/2014 12:53

Yay phryn!
Sunbathing-no EPU thing in my area - the MW said to go straight to A&E if spotting turns red and youre triaged through. I wouldn't go out of hours tbh, did that b4 and experienced a very uncomfortable examination and no scan anyway (unless it was obvious I was MC)
I cried so much the other night it made me realise how much I wanted the baby.
Scared to even go to the loo! Really hoping its paranoia. ....

Thanks Sunbathing, scan is 28th November, so another 3 long weeks to wait. Is it weird that I'm secretly hoping for twins?? No history of it in my family, but DP is adopted, so who knows....

Gr33dyeggs · 07/11/2014 13:11

My scans not until 26th - 13 weeks. Thanks for listening and sorry for being so pessimistic. There's more pink now.

Thanks chat, I'm not sure if an early scan would help, last time I had an early scan they found a strong heartbeat and then less than 24hrs later I lost it. Think if I saw a heartbeat I'd still be worried. I guess I'll just have to wait it out until my 12 wk scan on 8th Dec (bloody hell that's ages away!). Slightly more reassuring that others have found symptoms come and go and still go on to have healthy pregnancies. Holding onto that thought as much as I can. Thanks everyone for your replies, great to speak to others, especially as no-one else knows apart from dp.

teenie if your mum and other women in the family wasn't sick that is a really good indication that you might just be one of the lucky ones! My mum was always sick - would lose 6-8kgs in the first trimester (and if she wasn't sick she miscarried) which is why I am so worried that I have been feeling better from 9 weeks... it seems too good to be true that I would only get half the sick! I did have to go back to her and ask when I was feeling terrible how on earth did she manage to have 6 of us if she went through that every time...

ChatEnOeuf · 07/11/2014 13:36

That's similar to what happened to me, Morgan, I lost twins in August after a scan showed two heartbeats. Counting down the days too...

Just catching up and am so so sorry to hear of yesterdays sad events, thinking of you all today. Like many have already said mmc is so very cruel.

My symptoms have gone but i'm 11+3, 6 days until scan but i'm still worried that history could repeat itself.

Smugfearnleyshittingstool · 07/11/2014 14:13

Great news phryn we are due date buddy's as my date was moved from 11th to the 9th on the early scan.
Had my midwife meeting this morning (9+3) all good, nice to chat as I used to work with her. I'm meeting her at Out lovely MLU on Sunday to officially book in, she was coming to me but offered me the chance to see the shiny new pools that have been fitted since I was last there so that will be nice!
Symptom wise I'm also feeling much less nauseous and able to eat most things now, trying not to stuff face! just had a lovely lunch date with a friend as a rare Friday off for me.
Quiet house here this weekend as dc all at their dads so I'll probably catch up on some sleep and maybe a tiny bit of Xmas shopping.

Sorry to hear of all the heartbreak on this thread. I know how hard pregnancy loss is and hoping there's lots of rl support for those who need it.

I had my second early scan today which showed a nice heartbeat - I'm 8+3 today Smile it was also done abdominally which was good.

Also had booking in with midwife. Wasn't that impressed with her and didn't really offer me any reassurance re history. Also hadn't booked me in for my extra scan at 16 weeks (due to incompatible with life syndrome my first baby had). I've now called the antenatal screening coordinator at my hospital and they're following it all up.

Although I feel very relieved about today I feel like with this pregnancy malarkey I just bounce along from one worry or hurdle to the next.

Considering getting the harmony package at fmc center done. Not sure if my nerves can take the extra testing....

iwantkhaleesiseyebrows · 07/11/2014 14:18

Ps my symptoms also seemed to have vanished this morning so looks like its normal anytime from 8 weeks...

All day i have had this strange sensation - its not really pain. Anything that touches my tummy is agonising but if nothing is agaisnt my skin i don't feel pain just an odd tingling sensation. Not sure if this is something to worry about or not?

teeniedeenie34 · 07/11/2014 14:31

Sunbathing and Clearly Twins are very common in my OH's family. Strangely, my OH's mum went to see a spiritualist about a year ago who said she sees her son having twins in the near future Shock I'm quite OCD about planning things though, so if we are having twins, I'm gonna need a whole new plan of action after that 12 weeks scan ha ha ha!

htf2 I think as many of the ladies with sickness and nausea on this bus are saying, I'm sure the placenta takes over around the 9 week mark which can ease it. My mum is one of six, I don't know how my gran did it either lol!

Gr33 I hope everything is ok, I'm sure it is just one of the many things we have to put up with in early pregnancy!

Alis - did you get my message about the fb group? Couldn't find you so left you my details so you could find me Smile

Fantastic news phryn. Non-alcoholic Wine

sunbathing thanks for asking after me. MW was fine. I teacher her daughter so it was funny seeing her but not at a parents' evening. I didn't even need to ask for a reassurance scan, she just said that because of my recurrent miscarriage she was booking me on for one so I'm being done on Monday at 11am. Then 12 week scan is on 4th Dec.

She had to take my blood pressure twice because she thought she'd made a mistake it was so low and told me to eat lots of dried fruit!

And I asked about lack of symptoms. She said "are your breasts heavy and tender? are you tired? Then you have symptoms." Made me feel lots better.

Tranquilitybaby · 07/11/2014 15:29

Lovely news Phryn and Iwant, so pleased for you both.

I've just booked my Harmony test package at Harley street, first scan and bloods in three weeks x
