Just had a chat with Lucy5 and we decided that the old thread was getting too long and taking forever to load so here's a new one for all of us.

Hope everyone's well, nothing to report from me, everything's going smoothly still so far.

Not long now until we get the first of the birth announcements!!

{Whispers very quietly} I am having a good day, 2 in a row! Haven't had 2 in a row for so long Perhaps it's as simple as the coca-cola working!

magnolia1 · 05/10/2006 13:51

becs21 · 05/10/2006 13:58

hey guys im just over 21 weeks and havent felt bump move went to mw mon heartbeat srong got scan 2morrow just feelinf v worried

lucy5 · 05/10/2006 14:01

Becs 21 weeks is very early, try not to worry, easily said , I know. I didn't feel this baby move until at least 24 weeks i think.

Elibean · 05/10/2006 14:03

Ah, Becs, don't worry, honest. I have an anterior placenta and hardly felt more than a flutter until past 21 weeks - and its my second pregnancy. Is this your first? I only felt the first teeny tiny flutter at 19 weeks with dd, and the placenta was at the back that time - so you're really not unusual.

What matters is that heartbeat, sounds fine.
Bet within a couple of weeks you're feeling lots

Elibean · 05/10/2006 14:04

Off to shop for First (if they have it) and to replace dd's choccy buttons

Loulou000 · 05/10/2006 14:04

Wow, must run out and get first magazine! That is so brave.

I wouldn't worry becs, I'm sure everything is fine, especially if you heard the heartbeat on monday.

becs21 · 05/10/2006 14:12

thanks guys i just needed sum reassurance this is my first time its all a bit scary

Indith · 05/10/2006 15:02

Oh pants I'm joining the big bad glucose test club! 28 week appointment today, got blood taken out of one arm, anti d shoved in the other and a plus 3 on glucose so guess who's off to the hospital a week on Friday! Friday 13th no less, hum.....

Tis very nice to be able to remember that a fair number of you lot were passing this test not that long ago!

Olihan · 05/10/2006 15:12

Becs, if you haven't already found it there's an antenatal thread for Due in Feb here, just click on the purple writing! Everyone on there will be at the same stage as you and probably having the same worries!! Hope you're feeling better, I didn't feel my 1st move until gone 24 weeks cos my placenta was at the front.

Magnolia, I've been buying First for weeks, looking for your article. DH can't understand why I can't just leaf through it in the shop and put it back on the shelf when the article's not there . Will be dashing to Tesco as soon as the dcs wake up though.

What's the news on your placenta praevia btw? Is it still too low and are they still talking about v early section? Hope it's not causing you too many probs.

Finally back home again.

Feel nackered, spent ages waiting around (per usual) to have bloods done and then popped into Tesco (as its next door and we where low on milk & bread) then it was time to pick up DD from school and phew but I am beat.

Feel like I could easily have a nap on the sofa

Olihan · 05/10/2006 15:36

Find a bag of crisps and a choccy bar for dd, put Cbeebies on, lie on the sofa and 'watch' it with her . Amazing how quiet they stay when they're eating and watching TV!!

Not taht I would ever do this myself you understand.. .

weirdbird · 05/10/2006 15:40

Almost correct, she has Nick Jr on and has an apple on the sofa and I am contemplating my bed for a doze.

Am so big these days that theres no room for her to cuddle me on the sofa anymore

Calmriver · 05/10/2006 15:50

Going to get the magazine too.

I think I have another transverse here... remember she engaged a few weeks ago??well, she popped back out.(easier at this stage!)

I have had such a lazy day today. Still in my jamas, just had an hours nap, going to get another hot drink now, and can't wait for dinner!Going to curl up on the couch soon and so NOTHING!!! I really fancy some chocolate, but that means I have to go out and get some. Not sure I really want to do that! TOOO LLLAAAAZZZYYY!

Calmriver · 05/10/2006 15:52

WB, I know that feeling. DD wants to dit up against me,or lie across my lap, and all she gets is massive kicks in the head and back...let alone how uncomfortable it is for me!

I would recommmend a sleep, talk later

Olihan · 05/10/2006 15:57

WB, I was trying to read ds a story before his nap today and he kept sliding off my knee!! I ended up sat on the floor beside his bed because he just didn't have enough room!! Luckily dd still fits but not sure for how much longer.

Had one of 'those experiences in Tesco the other day too. Popped over minus the dcs, was chatting to the checkout woman as she scanned the shopping. 'How much longer have you got to go?' she asks. 'Oh, not till Christmas', I say. She then stands up to look at me again, says 'Christmas?' in tones of utter disbelief and an expression like I'm from another planet.

It was a good job I was feeling less hormonal than normal and managed to find it (sort of) funny .

People seem to think I am about to drop too. Some say, I am MASSIVE this time around, but I am the sme size I was with DD1...I just growl at them!

Carameli · 05/10/2006 16:44

hi all, I feel as though I have been away for ages. Life has been so hectic here. We finally exchanged on our place so moving on 27th, yikes, only 3wks away. Now ahve a horrid horrid cold to deal with which is making me feel really rough with it.
Can you use karvol when you are pregnant. Drinking lots of honey and lemon and keeping warm indoors.
Excited about moving now.... Cannot wait to get going on the whole thing, although will be so frustrated at not being able to actually lift a finger to do anything so will just head on down ahead of everyone with dd(3 today) and play with her and watch cbeebies

hope all are well here. still waiting to see if placenta has moved. Also just heard last night from a friend that her sister just gave birth at 32wks, all is fine with the little girl, but certainly hope that does not happen to me

Elibean · 05/10/2006 17:48

Carameli, I used Karvol - no problem. Wish it worked on coughs. Sorry you have a cold, seems we're all taking it in turns - is MN virus-proof I wonder?!

Elibean · 05/10/2006 18:03

Ooooh, Magnoliaaaaa! You gorgeous thing, you. dh just went to the shop in the pouring rain and brought me back First (and a packet of crisps). What a fantastic photo - they both are, of you, dressed and un - and you're definitely the prettiest; downright model material methinks.
Are you pleased with it, and the article?

I thought it was interesting how those in the middle are pleased with their timing, and those at either end are a bit defensive. Me, I'm just surprised at how many women think of having babies as something you can choose a time for...of course it is, for many, but for me and sooo many of my friends it hasn't been, for all sorts of reasons, so my perspective is sort of skewed. Though I suppose one of the women did say that. Were they nice? Did you know any of them before? Sorry, being utterly nosy now

Anyway - congrats!

magnolia1 · 05/10/2006 19:40

Thanks El I didn't know any of them no, it was an advert on here that got me doing it. A bit embarrassed actually coz my nipple shows But dh likes them Showed his whole bloody family!!!

Had my consultant appt today. Not much happened. He said no way would the placenta move enough to have natural birth so c section at 36/37 weeks if no bleeding but any bleedng before that and it would be earlier. See him again in 2 weeks.

lucy5 · 05/10/2006 20:05

Would anyone like to send me a copy of magnolia's article? Sorry to be cheeky. I'll pay any costs.

Eliboo · 05/10/2006 20:30

lucy, I'll send it to you - just cat me your address (much nicer thing to send than Zantac, but if you want a few of them chucked in say the word!

Magnolia, I did'nt even notice the nipple - can't vouch for dh, but he says he didn't open the magazine on the way home . tbh, I noticed your face most, because you have such a lovely one, and you're looking straight at the camera.

Sorry about the placenta...36/37 weeks, would put your due date forward to what? Beginning of December?
