misty I'm going backwards and forwards between excitement and stress. Hope the next two days go fast; hoping the next 2hours go fast too! ;-)

pinkandstripey · 29/10/2014 08:09

Good luck everyone having scans today :) I'm going back for a rescan as baby didn't want to show the bottom of his spine last time. Everything else looked ok, so not worried, hoping for another sneaky picture! Dp isn't coming to this scan, didn't think it worth taking a day off for just a quick recheck.

Butterpuff · 29/10/2014 08:55

Morning all,

Glad to hear I am not the only person getting excited about nappies!

Good luck with all the scan's ladies.

DurhamRed · 29/10/2014 09:02

Morning everyone, hope everyone is well.

Good luck to all those with scans today...how exciting! :-)

persepolis123 · 29/10/2014 09:29

Good luck toast m33r and anyone else I missed who has scans today. Mine is at 4pm so today is going to drag.

pink good luck. Is yours today as well? Hopefully baby will be co-operative this time.

We were told it’s a girl at our private scan at 16 weeks but the sonographer didn’t seem too sure. We like the idea of having a little girl now so hope we are not told otherwise this afternoon but health is the most important thing. I’ve said to DP already perhaps if it’s another boy we could have one more and I didn’t get shot down, he just smiled at me. If it’s a girl I’m about 90% sure we will stop at 2.

KeeperOfTheZoo · 29/10/2014 09:43

Ooh, scans are coming thick and fast now aren't they?! Grin

I cloth-bum DS and intend to again with this one. I think I need a few extra ones to top up our collection ("no DH, I promise it's not just an excuse to buy more very cute bum-covers, we really do need them...!") I've always preferred the velcro-fastening ones rather than the poppers as the poppers were a bit fiddly for me and difficult to get to exactly the right tightness, especially when your baby is trying to wriggle off the change unit! The only thing with the velcro ones is that after 2 years of use and a million washes, some of the actual velcro bits have gone a bit tattered/worn/curled. Once my scan is out of the way tomorrow and we know everything is fine then I will get ordering some new ones!! Grin

persepolis I've tried dropping hints like that too and haven't quite been shot down over the idea of a third but I wonder if that's just because he's scared of shooting down a highly-hormonal maniac..!

pinkandstripey · 29/10/2014 10:06

Haha to people discussing next baby already! :) love it!! Dp always wanted 2 (he's got a sister, they're very close), I never thought any further ahead than 1 (I'm an only). Being truly honest, I'm still not entirely convinced about how having a 2nd will be - I have no experience of 2 child families. Am doing an nct 'refresher' antenatal to talk about how it could work.

Dp is already talking about when is a good time to get the snip after this one is born!

Bit sad that I won't have a daughter, but am sure that will wear off, definitely can't get my head around the idea of 3 dc.

Scan at 415 today, I dread to think what time I'll actually get seen!

nothinglikeithought · 29/10/2014 10:07

I was going to ask about cloth nappies soon too! I'm amazed at the amount of choice there is for every baby product out there! Baby products I didn't even knew existed. How does anyone make a decision?! Think I've read so many reviews and threads I'm now back to square one in terms of making any choices. This baby is going to be about 2 before it starts getting clothed, pushed in a pushchair, put in a nappy etc...

JammyTodger · 29/10/2014 11:29

Reading this is making me soooo sad that I sold all my cloth nappies just weeks before I got my BFP. I'm going to have to start trawling the preloved sites as I really don't like
disposables.

Pinkandstripy - I'm thinking of asking if DP will get the snip. We honestly thought we were past the baby-making age but obviously not!

persepolis123 · 29/10/2014 13:24

pink yes I bet there will be a massive backlog by this afternoon. I think I will take a book with me to read while I wait. With DS my 12 week scan was at 4 and I didn't go in until nearly 5. It makes me even more nervous sitting there waiting for so long.

fourmonthstogo · 29/10/2014 13:50

jammy I know exactly what you mean, I was a bit sad and rather cross that I sold about half of mine, but now I am focusing on all the lovely new ones I can replace them with! Also I got a very good sale price for most of mine so that helps.

theonewiththenoisychild · 29/10/2014 14:23

i usually go in on time for my scans but i recieved a appointment for the consultant this morning for 31st december at 2:30pm. fully expecting to still be waiting at tea time. he i a very good consultant and always has a full list Sad better take my kindle i supoose

m33r · 29/10/2014 15:23

All well in baby m33r scan BUT little darling kept legs tightly shut! She said maybe a boy but said the cord was in the way and legs well shut. I have made a private appt for Saturday morning!

Everything else perfect though so smiling from ear to ear AND got out Moses basket and some room theremimeters.

Good luck everyone else!

lotsoftoast · 29/10/2014 16:44

All fine at our scan, baby v uncooperative but got there in the end!!

pinkandstripey · 29/10/2014 18:57

All good at the rescan, baby cooperating nicely (for a change, 1st time he's behaved himself!). Feel a bit guilty for complaining, I was seen EARLY and by 17 mins past was walking out the hospital! Got another sneaky pic, can see his little hands :)

Glad everyone else's scans went well - such a lot of naughty uncooperative babies lol

ZylaB · 29/10/2014 19:24

All good at our scan too, baby wasn't playing nicely though and I had to have a good shake and wriggle around so we could see her spine, then she half his in my pelvis but we got there in the end :)

Next one in 7 weeks!

ZylaB · 29/10/2014 19:25

Thanks everyone.

I wanted to ask your thoughts on something: my next mw appt was supposed to be 5th Nov but a really important meeting came up at work so I called up and got it put back to 12th. Receptionist didn't seem a bit bothered but my dm is giving me a hit of hard time. Do we think I am putting baby at risk? What is this appt for? How many weeks will the rest of you be at next mw appt? I would've been 20+6. I will now be 21+6. Honest opinions please!

persepolis123 · 29/10/2014 20:31

m33r I saw my midwife at 15 weeks and don't have an appointment with her until the end of November when I will be more than 24 weeks.

Good scan here. Baby was uncooperative but it meant I got an hour long scan which was nice. Still a girl Grin so we are over the moon and despite not getting out of the hospital until 6pm I still managed to squeeze in some clothes shopping.

Pleased everyone else's scans went well too.

coastergirl · 29/10/2014 20:34

m33r I saw the midwife at 16 weeks and will see her again at 24 weeks.

theonewiththenoisychild · 29/10/2014 20:40

m33r dont feel bad about putting your appointment back a week. its certainly not going to be putting your baby at risk

m33r · 29/10/2014 20:42

Thanks coaster and perse I did think it was just standard urine, bloods measures etc and since I had bloods at docs last week, measured today and am feeling fine, I figured it'd be ok! Thank you again.

perse congrats on scan and great news on shopping! I was in and out in 15mins but so looking forward to Saturday now!! Grin

m33r · 29/10/2014 20:43
