How can I edit the stats document? I can't see an option.

I'm 30, scan is Monday 3rd November and not finding out the sex so it will be a surprise!

Butterpuff · 28/10/2014 16:34

Oh pretty miffy

I think I am going mad, just spent half an hour of valuable work time googling nappies!!! I'm getting excited about the idea of buying cloth nappies, everyone one else's baby brains seem to be getting excited by cute little clothes and travel systems. I haven't even thought about that stuff, my daft mind has gone to nappies. Confused

M27J5M · 28/10/2014 16:42

I didn't get the option of time Durham, got my notes handed to me after 12 week scan and told that 20week scan had been booked in and was written in appointment section

fishfingerSarnies · 28/10/2014 16:42

I cloth bummed my baby happy to answer any questions.

I got ranted at by an old lady in boots today because I was buying nappies, saying I was too lazy to wash and what an awful lazy mother I was... I just ignored her but felt like shouting that I washed nappies for a year and a half until she potty trained and now she wears one nappy, at night, I put her in a disposable otherwise she takes it off and wees the bed! Grrrr

coastergirl · 28/10/2014 16:56

That's shocking fish! It really makes me angry that people think that they can judge total strangers based on a glimpse of them and their tiny little narrow-minded views. Like the whole, people telling pregnant ladies what they can/can not eat, or saying "cheer up, it might never happen" when they have no clue what is going on in that person's life!

For what it's worth, my husband and I have considered cloth nappies. While we want to do what's right for the environment and do try to do so generally, we're trying to be realistic about our situation. I am really struggling mental-health wise, and we're well aware that having a newborn baby will not be easy. So we've decided to do whatever we can practically to make life easier for us as a family, which includes using disposable nappies, at least until we find our feet. And if someone in a shop had a go at me about it, I'm not sure I'd be able to keep my mouth shut at the moment!

Sorry...rant over! Blush

Butterpuff · 28/10/2014 17:08

Doubt I would have stayed polite fish what an old bag. A friend had a similar encounter earlier in the year, but over using a muslin as a sun shade for her daughter. As a very new mum she was so upset. People just don't think.

I always liked the idea of cloth, with emergency supplies of disposable. When I started reading up and saw that some people believe children in cloth nappies are potty trained quicker it settled me!

Plus some of them are so cute! I may be back closer to the time begging for advice.

Rainbow555 · 28/10/2014 18:26

coaster can't edit stats in phone! I will procrastinate at work today and update it for those needing updates!

m33r · 28/10/2014 18:33

Lovely scan miffy

fish I may just have killed her! I'm going disposable but I think just have enough to think about (does that make me a vile person?)

Am beside myself about tomorrow! I'm in at 1040. Sooo hoping LO has legs open wide!

junkfoodaddict · 28/10/2014 19:12

Well, I must be the worst mother in the world to that old bag in boots: Disposable nappies, quit BFing at 4 weeks, in his own room at 10 days, cotbed at 6 weeks, did (a little of the CC at 10/12 weeks - he was pretty well 'sleep-trained and loves his bed), CM at 8 months as went back to work full time, tried with weaning at 5 months, had chocolate at 7 months, has sweets, juice, fizzy drinks, ice cream, lollies etc, etc.
I am surprised he is a well-adjusted, happy, content, healthy little boy (who loves his bed).

oliveobsessed · 28/10/2014 20:35

We are going to try cloth nappies during the day :-) they are cute and look as practical as normal nappies.

Also now have a second hand dog walking/muddy pram baby weaver lynx it's enormous

3isthemajicnumber · 28/10/2014 21:18

Aha here you all are.

I'm sick. Thanks for all your advice on FB page. Just need to keep these fluids actually in me.

Good luck to those with scans this week.

fourmonthstogo · 28/10/2014 21:45

That's funny butter I spent a lot of valuable work time today thinking about nappies! I used cloth with dd, and have bought some new ones to top up my stash for the new arrival. I can spend ages thinking about nappies, I have no idea what it is about them that captures my imagination so much! But they look so pretty lined up drying, I've got some really nice new designs.

For what it's worth, for us the only extra work was one more load of washing every 2 days and stuffing nappies in front of the TV when dry. But we used disposable at night to avoid night time changes or leaks, and will do the same this time.

fourmonthstogo · 28/10/2014 21:47

I also meant to say that people shouldn't have to justify their choices, especially to random strangers.

SurfsUp1 · 29/10/2014 00:59

Well I've just discovered what Santa's sleigh is used for for outside of the Christmas period - Amazon use it for delivering prams from the US to Australia! I cannot believe hot fast that was!!
Just assembled the new rig and super-happy with it all. Very easy - in fact I'd finished putting it together before I found the instructions!

Good luck with your scans ladies!
Gorgeous pic Miff

Durham I SO hope this is the beginning of the send of your torture!!

SurfsUp1 · 29/10/2014 01:08

Oooh, it must have been in the air, because I sat up googling nappies art night too!! I used disposables with both my boys, but I'm considering trying cloth this time.
I'm realistic about my truly atrocious laundry practises, though, so I'm thinking of using a nappy service. Anyone used one?

Rainbow555 · 29/10/2014 04:08

Also been thinking of cloth nappies, some advice I had was to wait until routine sorted and them think about it.
I'm going to a happy lady workshop this month to learn all about them :)

My stroller also arrived surfs was meant to take a week!

My step sister (I guess although mum and partner not married) had her baby today 12 hour labour and 9lb very cute boy!

SurfsUp1 · 29/10/2014 04:57
