Lifeis I'm so sorry to hear about your mum, must be so hard for you, hope your doing ok for the minute tho! Sending big hugs your way

Butterpuff · 30/01/2015 10:11

So sorry Life I hope your Mum's move goes well so that she is near to you. Life really is unfair. Maybe she will surprise you all and get to meet your little one. You really are going through the best and the worst of times and I really feel for you. Flowers

I hope you manage to stay close to bathrooms if baby is determined to dance all over your bladder on a regular basis. Luckily mine hasn't learnt that game yet. Smile

Gudgyx · 30/01/2015 10:11

Wow Zyla!! Looks like yours might be the first one! Hope everything goes ok.

Aw Life thats horrible :( I dont even know what to say. I hope you are okay.

I'm having a dilema at work today. 4 of my technicians are currently suspended for misbehaving at a training session in front of a senior manager. Serious stuff, swearing, shouting argument, being derogative about female staff members etc. The worst culprit is coming in today for his disciplinary investigation hearing, and asked HR to come to me and ask me to go in with him as his companion. Not sure about it, as I really dont agree with what happened at the training, and I dont want to be seen as taking sides in it all. I've did it before for other guys, probably why he's asked for me, but I know what this one is like ifswim. Very argumentative, hyper, typical young guy really, he is only 22. I'll go and I'll support him because he does need a bit of 'hand-holding' to make sure he doesnt go too far defending himself, but I'm a bit nervous about it. The joys of being the mother figure to a bunch of hyper laddies.

Ellizardo · 30/01/2015 10:22

Life - I can't imagine what you're going through with your Ma. Thinking of you both.

fishfingerSarnies · 30/01/2015 10:23

Oh life that is just too sad, I hope you have some support and are looking after yourself.

And fingers crossed for you zyla that things go smoothly and you can keep baby inside for a little longer.

theonewiththenoisychild · 30/01/2015 10:30

hope you get to 36 weeks as planned zyla wow looks like the first baby of this thread is not far away at all. i still have around 7 weeks til c section date

Butterpuff · 30/01/2015 10:55

Doesn't sound fun Gudgy when you are there as a companion you can just sit quietly and be a calming presence can't you? You don't need to argue for or against just note if HR are being unfair. I've never sat in as a companion but I have held disciplinary meetings with companions in and generally they have done nothing - except one older guy who came to me afterwards and told me how well he thought I had conducted the meeting Smile

Anyway, I hope it goes well and your hyper laddie stays calm so you don't have to do much more than hand hold.

pinkandstripey · 30/01/2015 11:11

zyla I kind of want to say that it's exciting for you, but obv being in hospital and induced early isn't ideal (obv!!), so hope you're doing ok :) is amazing that babies will soon be arriving from the group!

life that sounds awful, look after yourself :(

gudgy disciplinary meetings aren't nice for anyone, hope it's not too painful for you x

Pisghetti · 30/01/2015 11:28

So sorry to hear that Life. I can't imagine dealing with that while preparing for a new arrival. Hope the move goes ok and she is comfortable.

DurhamRed · 30/01/2015 11:44

Life I'm so sorry to hear about your mum, my thoughts are with you and your family.

Ellizardo I had the GTT test, it took me 2 attempts as I vomited the first time (before I had even had the glucose drink!) The second time I managed to hold the drink down for the 2 hours (just! It was touch and go a few times). Thankfully my results were fine, you should get your results within 7 days.

Zyla sorry to hear you're in hospital with pre eclampsia...though how exciting you will get to meet your little one early!

Is anyone else's little one sitting very very low in their pelvis? I'm 33 weeks and baby is apparently in perfect position for labour (head down, bum up and not back to back...though head not engaged yet) . She's sitting so low that it's become painful to walk...I'm waddling so badly, that my oh is now making penguin jokes!

Gudgyx · 30/01/2015 11:54

Yeah think thats it butter I'm normally quite at good at calming them down if needs be, so I'll just take some notes for him and make sure he doesnt lose it. Its strange, I dont understand why he's like that, he's not your stereotypical bog standard thick ass labourer type, he's a very intelligent and skilled guy, and is brilliant at his job. But get them altogether in a group, and they're like children again.

Treadlightly · 30/01/2015 12:16

Coming back to this thread after a long time lurking!
33 weeks today & feeling enormous

Flowers
And zyla exciting!!

theonewiththenoisychild · 30/01/2015 12:30

so sorry life my thoughts are with you and your family Sad my mum was (wrongly) diagnosed with cancer while i was pregnant and that was very stressful and upsetting but cant even begin to imagine how you must be feeling Sad Thanks

M27J5M · 30/01/2015 12:51

Durham I'm exactly the same, or at least I was last week at hosp but suppose baby could have moved to can feel it really low down all the time!

NotAQueef · 30/01/2015 12:56

Oh goodness Zyla. Fingers crossed it's safe for baby to cook a little longer. Hope you're not too bored in hospital x

NotAQueef · 30/01/2015 12:58

Posted too soon. Sorry about your mum, must be so tough :-(

m33r · 30/01/2015 13:03

So sorry life. I can't even imagine what you're going through.

gudgy nightmare! I hat disciplinaries.

I'm sitting pretty high I think.

I thought going early was more common than it seems to be from this thread. I know we're all statistically likely to go late but thought at least of two of us would've gone by now. Good thing though!

I remember first coming on the ante natal threads and thinking it seemed like FOREVER til we would be the 'babies due' month and here we (almost) are! Hurrah!!!

Butterpuff · 30/01/2015 13:09

It has gone quickly hasn't it m33r I cant believe we are at the 30+ weeks stage. When I see threads with the 5 weeks 2 days yay. I keep thinking how recently that was us!

Sunday I can sit on the sofa, rubbing bumps protruding limbs in the knowledge that he/she is due this month. Eeeeeek.

I cant wait Grin

shelley1977 · 30/01/2015 13:36

theone glad your roof is fixed.
lifeis im sorry to her about your mum.
zyla hope you and baby are ok and can hold on another week.
I feel like time has slowed recently, this pregnancy has gone so quickly up till now. But sometime in next 8 weeks depending on my health my little boy will be here, so not really to long to wait.

Wherediparkmybroom · 30/01/2015 13:43

Just back from the growth scan, tape measure lied again all is good but she is still extended breech so I might end up with a c section. When do the normally try to turn them I'm 36 weeks tomorrow?

theonewiththenoisychild · 30/01/2015 14:57

shelley i feel like time is dragging too. next door popped last weekend Envy so jealous. but then so is my little boy because apparently everybodys getting their brothers (2 in his class plus next door) and he still has to wait weeks for his and its sooooo unfair so he thinks haha bless him.

m33r · 30/01/2015 15:07

where my MW implied that I'd get scanned following my 36week appt, then they'd try to turn then with a view to a section at 39 weeks...

I should say I saw an episode of OBEM and the woman went in to get a section as was breech, waited til 6pm with no food then when they went to section the baby had turned so she got sent home... You'd be GUTTED!!!

m33r · 30/01/2015 15:10

Oh also, my MW told me success rates of 'turning' is 40-50% and sort of implied she wouldn't recommend it...

Gudgyx · 30/01/2015 15:22

Yeah meer sonographer and mw told me at 32 weeks that there was little chance of baby turning as she is frank breech. I'm not bothered though, she's already coming out the sunroof.

Well that was horrible, the meeting :( really feel for the guy. I did have to request a recess for him about halfway through, could see he was getting worked up so took him outside til he had a cig and calmed down a bit.

Really need this massage tonight now!

m33r · 30/01/2015 15:32

Tell me how it goes gudgy; hope she's good!
