Ooh good luck nyancat! Won't be long now. How exciting. Thinking of you!

That sounds a bit grim about the blood in the pool. Nothing a good clean up won't fix but still.

I tested my tens out last night and it only half works so they are sending me a new one. Only 2 out of the 4 pads were working. So if you've hired one make sure you check it out before the big day arrives!

In other news I had some blood streaked show a short time ago. No pain or cramping but babys head feels so low I feel like my insides are going to drop out. Reading up on it though the bloody show can mean labour is hours or days away. So who knows. Just a waiting game now. 39 weeks today. Hurry up baby, I'm over this waiting and discomfort now!

They're going to send it tomorrow on next day delivery but said if I go into labour before it arrives I'll still get some benefit from the half working one. Hmmm! Having the first sweep on Tuesday if nothing's happened so want it here just incase.

Dec2013mummy · 28/12/2014 18:52

Good luck nyan I hope it's all going ok Smile very exciting!
little I hope the tens machine gets here before baby does! How annoying. Sounds like there are a few equipment problems today!
So I went to the party and it was actually very nice. Dh didn't come and had some chill time (he's had a lot of my family this week) and in return I am now in the bath and he is doing bed time and bath time.
My cousin was at the party and it's the first time I have seen her since she announced that she is pregnant. She is 14 weeks so due in June and it was lovely as a lot of the attention was on her not me Grin Ds also managed to steal the show so helped stop too many questions Smile
Everyone kept commenting on how neat my bump was and that I didn't look anywhere near ready to give birth! Don't know if that's a good thing or bad thing but as I explained to them, I still have a full sized baby in there (is actually measuring above 50th) so my organs are currently squished so tightly. Is anyone else feeling hungry but totally unable to eat due to their stomach being so cramped? I keep going from thinking baby is coming now to baby won't come for weeks and I will end up being induced! I am solicitors an impatient person and cannot stand not being in control of situations so this waiting game is playing havoc with me!
39 weeks

Such not solicitors... That's a weird autocorrect!

It says on the leaflet they are all checked before being sent out but obviously mine slipped through the net. So glad I gave it a test run as I wouldn't have been best pleased in early labour if I couldn't get it to work properly!

I keep alternating between things are imminent to nothing's happening, it's going to be a section on the 14th. So much for my positive thinking I'd promised myself!

Dec I'm exactly the same with not liking not being in control. So hard to accept I have no control over this! In answer to your question, I'm always hungry at the moment but still battling the heartburn so I'm sure tonight's curry will do me no favours in that department but hopefully will put me into labour! I do feel like Ive got a bit more room for food now he's dropped but was banking on the heartburn being a thing of the past but no sign of any let up there yet!

chiruri · 28/12/2014 20:21

I'm also in the camp of alternating between feeling it's imminent, and feeling like it's weeks away. I'm booked in for a sweep on the 5th (39w) and an induction on the 12th (due date), but I've been getting horrible back pain and cramping all day today, which I've not had so far, so there's a chance I'll go spontaneously before then. DH has been lovely and it's just been so nice to cuddle up on the couch together after all the excitement of Christmas.
It's all getting so exciting. Can't wait to see updates as due dates finally start creeping up!

Dec2013mummy · 28/12/2014 20:51

little would you have a section then if that far overdue? I had a sweep the morning labor started with Ds but was already 2cm anyway apparently so was already on my way. For babies sake I would like it to come in the new year so there is a bit of a gap between Christmas and birthday, but for me tonight would be fine Grin
Midwife appointment tomorrow, she's coming here as children's centre is shut over the festive period! Excited to see if baby had finally engaged, but I think it just keeps popping in and out as I go from having a lot of pressure to baby moving from one side to the other.
chiri sounds like you are having a lovely evening with Dh Grin snuggling up is the best!

LittlePink · 28/12/2014 21:04

Dec- the plan is because I had an emcs with dd the consultant wants me to start sweeps at 39 wks to give me the best chance to have a Vbac but if nothing happens she'll see me at 40+5 and book me for elcs at 10 days overdue because of the risk of rupture on the scar. I'm hoping it doesn't come to that though as I really want a successful Vbac. Again, not having the control over this is doing my head in but going to stay positive! Midwife is visiting me at home too as the children's centres are closed here too. Let us know how your mw apt goes, hope baby is engaged and in a good position.

Wonder how nyancat is getting on.......

ilovelamp78 · 28/12/2014 22:03

Just popping back in to say hello and update stats sheet- been camped out on facebook for a long time. (Bad Lamp!) My LO was born at 38 weeks on 23rd Dec. EDD was 5th Jan. Its a whole new life and I'm learning things every day!

Good luck Nyancat and LittlePink hopefully things are kicking off for you shortly!

And sending lots of extra love over to Cheshire - can't be fun having contractions that go on for days

Soupyliv · 28/12/2014 22:25

Hello! I am new and due my 2nd on the 31 January. Would love to join the fb group, can I have the details please? X

Pesto11 · 28/12/2014 23:09

Wow congrats lamp
Wow wow wow!
How are you and baby?
How exciting?
Hope all went well with labour and you're both healthy and starting to settle into your new mummy life!

deuscat · 29/12/2014 00:27

Sorry for the long absence. I think I last posted at the beginning of this thread. Oops!

I just wanted to let non FB people now that I have had a little boy! My EDD was 9/1/15 but I was induced early at 36 weeks because of pre-eclampsia and obstetric cholestasis. We have called him Michael and he was 5lb 3.5oz, born on 15th dec.

It's been a crazy couple of weeks with him and establishing breastfeeding for such a little guy. But I love him so much and he is adorable!

Good luck to those who are having exciting birth-like things starting!

Pesto11 · 29/12/2014 00:55

Congrats to you too deuscat
He's 2 weeks old already!
Good luck with it all, especially the breastfeeding- I worry about that - then again I worry about everything!

My baby is still kicking away at my ribs so no sleep for me tonight it seems! Happy to respond to all these Baby stories!
Maybe my one will listen and hurry up!

Hi all, 20 hours after induction ds was born at 3.45 this morning at 5lb13. Absolutely shattered but he is gorgeous and so far lying quietly looking around himself.
Having done a 6hour labour with Dc1 with no pain relief and a 20hr one with an epidural, I can definitely recommend an epi, it was fantastic!

cheshirem2b · 29/12/2014 07:43

congratulations to all the new mummies! amazing news! Lots of smaller babies as well - mines going to be a chunky monkey!
I confess I am jealous!
After another day of pain, discomfort and feeling generally rubbish everything speed again around 11pm last night. Managed to get some sleep though which was v welcome and the aches and pains seem to be coming back for a third day!
I'm off to the midwife this morning so am going to demand an examination from her to see what's happening down there - after 2 days something must be happening?!

chiruri · 29/12/2014 07:51

Congratulations everyone - what wonderful news. Best of luck cheshire, I hope something happens Smile.

Oh wow, so much baby news to catch up on. Huge congrats to all the new mummies!!

Cheshire mine will be a bigger baby too for sure. Sorry you're still having a rough time of it, must be so tiring. Hope things start moving forward for you a little quicker. Every day we are all getting closer though!

Little hope you got your working TENS delivered ok. Im shooting off to check mine now, didn't even think to do it earlier.

M/w app tomorrow but have to go to the surgery for it. Im really hoping for a sweep but seem to remember with DD1 they wouldn't do them until after EDD for me. Pah! I had one huge contraction yesterday evening lasting about a minute, then nothing but BHs as per usual. Dec all the best at your app today Smile

madrigals your pool sounds amazing.

Congratulations to all those who have given birth. So lovely to read all your stories and have been some lovely labours. Fingers crossed there are lots more happy easy labours for the rest of us.

I think I must be about the only one who isn't booked in for a sweep. I do have a midwife appt booked when I'm 40+4 so I expect it will be mentioned then but I hope not to get that far.

Congratulations to all those with new babies!!! Soooo exciting Grin. Lovely to hear all your stories!

38+5 weeks here and no signs of anything so far. We spent yesterday (finally) assembling the nursery furniture. It looks really good, but I could do with a rest now - unfortunately there is still one box of flat pack to go!

I am annoyingly coming down with a chest cold, which I could do without at this point especially with the little one increasingly squashing my lungs. Does anyone know what medication is OK to take during pregnancy? All my usual lemsip, benylin etc seem to take a very cautious approach. So far I'm making do with paracetomol, porridge and cups of tea being brought to me by DW.

Dec2013mummy · 29/12/2014 09:51

Arghhhhh where to start today! I'm so so excited for everyone who has had their little ones. Congratulations to all. Grin
Cheshire sorry you are still having pains. Fingers crossed that you will get some answers today as to what is happening.
little that all makes sense. I will have everything crossed for you that baby plays ball and you get the vbac that you want.
I'm feeling really really rough this morning so I am glad I have the mw as I'm worrying! Always nice to get reassurance! Dh will get to hear the heartbeat as well for the first time since the 20 week scan, as he canny get time off for the appointments normally. Not long left now ladies. Even if we go over can only be a few more weeks!
