26 hours in and still getting surges (yesterday lasting 8hrs at one point before stopping for an hour or two and starting again) of back pain and cramps and tightenings. Managed to get a decent amount of sleep last night considering (around 5-6 hrs in total on and off). I'm using my ball and going on all fours when my back is bad. Had a melt down yesterday evening on poor DH when I decided I'd had enough - he's being really supportive and helpful.

I called the hospital at one point yesterday and midwife said I could go in but glad I didn't because I'd only have been sent home again! At least I can focus on the fact that if this continues I'll at least be induced on Thursday so only another 4 days of this to go!

Supposed to be going to my parents today for lunch/dinner! Haven't told them I've been getting pains - might have to confess later on at this rate!
Anyway, sorry for the long post. As things have eased off I'm popping back to bed for another nap. I hope you all enjoy your day.

Dec2013mummy · 28/12/2014 08:59

Oh Cheshire it definitely sounds like things are moving along. Sorry it's being so slow though. It may be worth going in to hospital at some point to see if it having a positive effect as you don't want to be totally worn out by Thursday as you will need as much energy as possible.
I had an awful nights sleep. I have slept for 3 hours altogether. Had some really strong surges last night that turned to nothing again. Keep telling myself I'm not at due date yet so don't expect anything to happen! Easier said than done.
Hope everyone is ok.

40 w today and no sign of anything apart from intermittent mild period type cramps for the last week, but very on and off. No show, no BH. I'm so bored of it!

And now I have the next 3 days of entertaining a 3 year old while DH is at work before my parents arrive late NYE.

Got my pom poms out for you cheshire !

HulaHoopsInTheBath · 28/12/2014 09:52

Just popping in to send Flowers and vibes to cheshire and dec. Hope you both get a bit of rest as it does all sound like things are moving forward.

Mad must seem a bit surreal having the pool up, exciting!! You definitely would have thought it would be checked first though, ewww!

There is nothing happening here what so ever except from pelvic pain like I have been kicked hard. Walking a bit odd. Guessing little miss may have wiggled down a little more. PJ day today me thinks!

cheshirem2b · 28/12/2014 09:54

Dec I hope it's moving along... I'd hate for all this energy to be wasted! I'm at mw tomorrow morning so if I'm still in this situation I'll ask her to examine me and see how things are progressing.

Mad I'd be fuming if it hadn't been checked properly! Very annoying!

Fx for nice days for everyone!

Elizadoesdolittle · 28/12/2014 10:17

cheshire it sounds tough. I'd definitely ask the mw to give you an examination tomorrow.

madrigals Stain aside what is the pool like? Does it look like it will take ages to fill? And how do you fill it?

Am still in bed Shock we were out late yesterday. Didn't get back till 10pm. DD1 is still asleep and DD2 is chuntering away in her cot. Going to have a very lazy day. DH wanted baby to come today but no signs. It will have to wait till 31st now. I'm quite up for a nye baby.

Ooh so exciting to hear everyone is nearing the end! cheshire I'm glad that you have a midwife appointment tomorrow, will put your mind at rest as well then.
eliza I really wish I was in bed. What good little girls you have. Ds was crying every hour last night after taking 3 hours to settle in the first place. I only needed to go in twice though! Poor little thing has his molars coming through and his gums are just so swollen. Really feel for him but sleep would be great for me too! Dh was up too as neither of is could sleep.
calling I hope things get going for you soon! It's such a pain this waiting game.
mad I would have freaked out of I had found that. I'm very anal about stuff like that though and would not cope at all! Well done to Dh for sorting it for you Grin
I don't think these twinges are doing anything as I had them for 12 weeks with Ds every night, progressively getting worse and then still had a 27 hour back to back labor! Ah well!
Got a family party today but I don't know if I'm up for all the 'hasn't it come yet?' 'Oh you have a big bulge now' comments. I don't know if I could hold my tongue!

Nyancat · 28/12/2014 12:08

38+2 and I'm in the hospital. pessary in since 9 (that wasn't pleasant) and now mooching about with my kindle loaded with books, waiting hopefully for things to kick off. have just sent dh home for a bit, hoping that sods law means things might start if he's not here!
