Pesto if its any consolation I don't sleep either. Woke at 6am this morning despite being out last night until after 11pm. Now DD off school little chance of a daytime nap too - boo!

Cheshire babies are such teases huh.

Party was great, and no labour drama! I've had awful back aches and the odd twinge, but nothing more since yesterdays show. She needs be out within the next 3 days or stay where she is. I don't want to be the one with the Christmas day baby dec!

Dec2013mummy · 20/12/2014 11:48

pesto I'm sorry to hear you had another bad night. I was up for 2 hours but that's not bad going for me at the mo.
cheshire I had exactly the same. Honestly thought this is it and finally got back to sleep thinking I would wake with more happening. But no, nothing, just very sore! Typical! I'm the same hula I don't want the Christmas Day baby!! Bet it will be me now though, either that or I'll go so far overdue that Christmas is a distant memory!
In other news, we are going to get rabbits this afternoon. Dh has been on at me for ages about getting a pet (he wanted a puppy), but the thought of a 1 year old, a newborn and a puppy .... Hum! I thought maybe not! So yesterday we somehow ended up in a pet store and he (along with Ds) convinced me that rabbits would be a good idea. Ds kept saying arhhhh at all the rabbits, it was so cute and Dh just looked at me in that way as if to say please. I swear he is worse than a child. So this morning we have bought a hutch and this afternoon we are going to get the rabbits! What am I thinking!!! Crazy is a word that springs to mind.
When I was out though a man really annoyed me in the queue. He asked me to breath in so he could get past BREATH IN... I mean seriously. Being able to breath in peace at all right now would be good. It's not as if I don't look pregnant. I'm a size 6 5ft little thing with a huge bump all out front. You can't miss it! I actually asked Dh if I could get away with slapping him! Ha Grin funny looking back.

Pesto11 · 20/12/2014 12:49

Thanks all

Doesn't help that I have the remains of a cold lingering on and blocked nose making it hard to breathe at night.

Little chance of nap today but at least dh is home so there's someone to talk to - maternity leave is so lonely(!)

When I finally drifted off at 7am I had terrible pains on both hips- agghhhhh time is up baby!

Going for a long walk to town after lunch... Might have to get the bus back!

Glad the party went well and no water breaking dramas!!!

LittlePink · 20/12/2014 12:53

Same here. Not wanting a xmas day baby either! Either he comes between now and Tuesday which is highly unlikely or he needs to stay put until Friday night. Anytime from boxing night is fine. But then we have a friend whose birthday is New Years eve and she hates it saying no one comes to your party because everyone is busy with family or going away or regular new year plans or they are all saying happy new year and not happy birthday so 31st is out for this little one too. And he's on strict instructions not to be late either. Have had words with him about this and he's promised that he won't keep us waiting past the 4th! Arghh it's the lack of control on my body and the not knowing when that's doing me in. I'm always impatient about everything and this is no different!!

Just said to Dh about the Xmas day baby and he said 'you do realise if you have told them they aren't allowed to come then they will, they are our child after all. Stubborn'. Thing is I can't disagree!
Now have 2 rabbits. They are super cute Grin don't tell Dh I said that.

Pesto11 · 20/12/2014 17:39

You need to think of rabbit names now!
We are still undecided on baby names!

Dec2013mummy · 20/12/2014 19:30

pesto I said that on the way home. We haven't got any baby names and now I have to think of rabbit names too. I don't feel quite such a responsibility choosing rabbit names though. I find it hard knowing baby will live with that name forever, and have to think about what it may be shortened to, what it spells initial wise, then to top it all we both work in schools so so many names are out of the question! We did have a list for Ds but his name wasn't on it. We decided on it when I was in labor!

Ahh yes, agreeing on baby names, thats on our to do list. We have the added complication of needing to decide on which surname to use also, which is a conversation we have so far avoided!

Far less pressure with rabbits!!

Elizadoesdolittle · 20/12/2014 23:39

I was very tempted to get rabbits for xmas for DD1 and DD2 but decided against it. I've always had guinea pigs and love them but when the last one died last year we didn't get any more. I think I'll get some more round spring/summer time.

If this baby is a girl she will be nameless when it's born. Just can't seem to find/agree on one so hoping a flash of inspiration will come once it's born.

Dec2013mummy · 21/12/2014 03:49

Morning all. Wide awake again here! Anyone else up and about? So frustrating as I know in a few weeks sleeping will be a luxury but try telling my body that. Anyone else had any other 'symptoms'. Got really sick last night and teary again! Can't believe it's Christmas in a few days, where has the time gone? Just found out my cousin is expecting in June. So so happy for her Grin so we will have babies in the same year which will be good.
Anyone else getting annoyed with too many people? Not so good when you have large families at Christmas!
38 weeks (arhhh Ds was born at 39 + 4) that's kinda scary!

Dec2013mummy · 21/12/2014 03:58

Just found our first thread

Morning, managed a bit of a lie in this morning. Dd has just woken up and is lying playing jigsaws on my tablet while I mn. I say lie in but she was up from 1-3 with a horrible cough and temp, then managed an hour in her own bed before coming into my bed again, at least she slept for the last few hours from about 5. She's demanding medicine because she is 'still sick', though seems to be mostly ok now, just asked her if she was too sick to make cookies or go to the park as planned later - but apparently she's well enough for those Grin

Hope her current lurgy clears before no 2 arrives, don't fancy a newborn catching it Sad

hope everyone well today.

CallingAllEngels · 21/12/2014 10:40

Morning all!

dec yesterday a young guy tried to push into the queue in front of me for a car park machine. I didn't say anything but gave him a proper look and he snuck in behind me (was rehearsing what to say in my head though - especially necessary when having to do it in Dutch!).

And DS was born at 39+4 as well dec ! If baby follows the same schedule he/she'll be arriving on Christmas Day Shock I would rather not as will miss out on the day with DS. We have a fairly low key day planned, but ILs will know I'm in labour as they'll be looking after DS, which means BIL/SIL/DNs will know as well.

Just waiting for supermarket to open before I pop out for last Christmas bits (nowhere near as crazy here as it gets in the UK). Hoping to evoke sod's law that my waters go in public and I can get started!

Sorry to hear dd is ill nyancat DS has just finished the last of his ABs this morning which have affected his poo (has alternated between diarrhea and constipation all week) and now hoping it all settles down.

pesto - go and have a nap! That's an order!

cheshirem2b · 21/12/2014 14:46

been for lunch with DHs family. 9 of us in total and now we are all going to DHs last "service" at the cathedral after singing/working here for 10 years. He's got 3 more things after today but this is the last Sunday service he's doing. Let's see if waters go mid service.. Would be interesting to say the least!

LittlePink · 21/12/2014 15:11

Afternoon all, another sleepless night to add to the list last night. I thought things were happening though as I had a few period like cramps coming in clusters but came to nothing and eventually fell back asleep waking this morning slightly disappointed. Just had a nap of almost 2 hrs which was so needed. Lying in bed now trying to find the energy to get up. Dh bought me a coffee machine on Black Friday a few weeks ago so going to treat myself to a caffeinated latte! So sick of decaf everything!

Singing at the cathedral sounds lovely. Why is he leaving Cheshire?

Sorry dd is poorly nyancat. Hope she's on the mend soon. Hate it when dd has a temp, find it really unsettling and I'm usually in there every hour or so checking it.

Calling- some people just have non idea pushing in front of people especially pregnant women. Im often amazed at people's manners. I was at a gathering of mums and toddlers of whom i don't know well last week and was sat on the floor while the others were on comfy sofas. Not one person offered to give me their seat. I was really surprised as it's blatantly obvious I've got a huge stomach and not long to go. Hmm oh well!

cheshirem2b · 21/12/2014 20:16

Littlepink he's leaving because it not only takes up 5-6.30 in the week it also takes up every Saturday afternoon and all day every Sunday. He's decided enough is enough and wants to spend that time with me & baby.

I agree at people being rude... Amazing how this huuuuuge bump doesn't prompt people to be more considerate!

Nesspot · 21/12/2014 22:40

Aw, some people are so rude! Although I had a lovely boy give me his seat on a very busy train today which restored my faith in humanity a wee bit Smile

The insomnia sucks doesn't it? I have pelvic pain every time I roll over which wakes me up if I do manage to get over. Then there's the frequent trips to the loo to contend with too. It's a bloody delight being pregnant.

My main issues at the moment are my rapidly expanding legs and hands. None of my shoes fit and tbh I'm looking and feeling like shit. It seems to be a pitted oedema (when I press on the swelling it doesn't spring back, instead it leaves a dent) but hopefully just one of those annoying pg things rather than symptomatic of anything more serious. Would be bloody typical tho if I got my iron up to a just-about-acceptable level then something else happens! Have mw tomorrow so will have a chat to her about it then. I've been reading about swelling and preeclampsia which I should probably stop doing...

Pesto11 · 21/12/2014 22:52

Just got changed for bed and my pj bottoms don't fit! Seem to suddenly have ballooned a lot in the past week- sitting around munching sweets and crisps.
How is this baby going to get out?
ness my thighs are HUGE.
Someone said it could all be water retention- I don't know, i just want to get back to a reasonable size afterwards where I don't need to buy a whole new wardrobe of clothes and huff and puff everytime I do something slightly strenuous!
Gone from 9stone to nearly 12!!! Eek

Weekend gone- DH back to work tmrw- I've shoved some boxes in unused cupboards instead of actually going through them and throwing things out- should really do that tmrw...
This baby doesn't feel like it's coming out. Random pains and creaky joints but doesn't feel like anything is starting... Night all

cheshirem2b · 21/12/2014 23:11

Ness I've found today for the first time really that I've got swollen feet and ankles...my mw said to be concerned if the swelling is in hands and face as lower body swelling is often just another pregnancy joy.
Pesto I've "hidden" boxes as well! Grin

Nesspot · 21/12/2014 23:31

Yeah, my hands were so swollen this morning I couldn't make a fist. Might just have been the way I was lying though (gonna keep telling myself that!!).
The swollen feet/legs are annoying more than anything else - the weather is really rubbish here and I can't get any of my boots on! It was a very soggy dog walk tonight as I had to wear my converse!

Dec2013mummy · 22/12/2014 02:10

Once again good morning. I'm up at some stupid hour again! Oh the joys!
ness I'm glad you have a mw app tomorrow as I think that really does need checking. Just to be on the safe side.
little I'm even more shocked that they didn't offer it you at a toddler group. They should know better. Gives me the rage!
I have felt like in have the flu again this afternoon, getting tightenings, achy thighs and all that. Dh had Ds and I just lay in bed. (Oh and had 2 baths!) Guess what.... Nothing! Yep, it's all for nothing once again. Ah well, I really do want baby to stay put for a little longer but it's every afternoon/ evening now and is really stopping me from doing things. Myself Dh and Ds went for a lovely walk at 6 and saw all the Christmas lights up as I thought it may get things loving of anything was going to happen. All it did was continue the tightenings and make me ache more for a while.
