Wide awake over here too..,
I want sleep... Zzz

Also getting paranoid about waters breaking in the most inconvenient of places... Who knows if it'll be a trickle or puddle but I'm obsessing over this way too much!

I didn't lie wide awake for hours like I did the night before but woke up about a zillion times so feel like I've not slept at all. I've got incredibly sore ribs on the left side. Mw said if it was on the right she'd be worried but left she's not concerned.

37 weeks today. It's quite a milestone. I'm just trying to train my brain to think this Vbac can be done and it's all going to be amazing this time and I'll get the birth I want.

I wonder who will go first or over Xmas. Maybe there will be one or two Xmas day babies!

I got a little fluffy brown bear snow suit but it's 0-3 so I'm thinking it's going to swamp him leaving the hospital. I'm loathe to buy too much newborn as they're only in them a couple of weeks and snow suits aren't cheap. Hmmm what to do!

Nyancat · 14/12/2014 08:15

little pink your post just reminded me of one of my favourite photos of dd, she was tiny when she arrived and our snowsuit was 0-3 months, we have a photo of her in hospital when we tried to put her in it and she was just a little curled up ball in the middle of it, too tiny for arms or legs to go into any of the proper parts. Grin

Dec2013mummy · 14/12/2014 08:57

Well I finally got back to sleep at 5.30 and Dh has got up with Ds so that I can sleep.... It's not happening! Arghhhh. So annoying! I was always such a heavy sleeper, who needed at least my 8 hrs. Not anymore I guess!
All this talk of baby stuff is making me go all gooey and excited. I agree, we had a 0-3 baby suit with Ds and it swamps him. The pics when coming home from the hospital are just too cute. It's strange, but I just have a feeling baby is coming no time soon. I mean I have constant bh and pressure now and again, but I don't know I just don't feel like I'm going to go into labor. I recon I'll go really far over and I've got another 5 weeks or something. (The thought makes me want to cry, although the timing would be great for dh's paternity leave). I really don't want an Xmas day baby little but knowing my luck I will now, just for babies sake when it's older. As long as it's healthy though that's all that matters really.
Oh I hate this not knowing. I don't know why we can't just have a date and time so we can plan around it!Grin wouldn't that be great!
little I have my fingers crossed you have the birth you want (in really hoping for a more text book birth this time around). If I think about it too much I start having panic attacks, so not trying to think about it too much.
Come on baby Wink the eviction notice starts today!
37 weeks

Pesto11 · 14/12/2014 09:10

dec I feel the same - constant bh but don't feel like anything is happening. Baby is still up by my ribs ( left side pain all night long!)
No pressure tho... Bet it's not even down just swimming about the top.
And the thought of going over, even going into 2015 is making me want to cry! Due 3rd jan.
Managed to fall asleep... Ignoring alarms now ...snooze snooze snooze...
mads you're reassuring me about the waters breaking situation! Eeek

Think we got newborn size snowsuit then dh said you won't go out in jan so it's a waste!
Err I'm not staying trapped in the house all month my love!

SK28 · 14/12/2014 09:23

I'm 34+6 so want baby to stay in 2 more weeks till fully cooked. But any time from 29th December onwards is good for me Smile I'm so ready to meet my baby now.

Unfortunately we have the wedding on some really close friends on 10th January... We are assuming I will be there heavily pregnant (it's in London so close by and all in one place so quite easy) but might be harder with a tiny baby! So I'm torn - selfishly want baby to come a bit earlier but everyone else is rooting for EDD or later for the sake of attending the wedding!

HulaHoopsInTheBath · 14/12/2014 09:34

Its only when I log in here I realise how fast the time is going Shock we're all talking about babies coming.......scary/exciting/scary!

MadG I am so thrilled to read your happy news and sending you my very best.

Eliza a due date buddy! Eliza is on my baby name list too Smile

Pesto and Dec I too am suffering from insomnia. Its the getting to sleep bothering me.

I have done a week of mat leave and don't think I have stopped. Buzzing round the flat like a wasp in a bottle. Nearly ready now though, but hoping like a lot of the rest of you round my due date, that little miss avoids coming between 21st and 28th ish.
Getting a ton of BH this end too. Bump low and head was 1/5 engaged so I guess any time now........

Has anyone seen the star shape fleece baby wraps?? Im very tempted to get one over a snow suit. Shame they don't come in grown up sizes!!!

37+2

Elizadoesdolittle · 14/12/2014 10:22

madg I'm new to the thread but thrilled to read your news. huge congratulations and I hope you have a very smooth easy pregnancy.

hula I read the thread earlier but didn't get time to post and I was going to mention the star fleece wraps. Having had 2 winter babies already I have several snow suits in several sizes but never got a star wrap. I really wish I did though as have heard such great things about them so have requested one from my DSIS for this baby.

Had a curry last night and baby was doing all kind of crazy things. If baby wants to come early it can come tomorrow as midwife is due to visit me between 10 and 2 so that would be quite handy!

HulaHoopsInTheBath · 14/12/2014 10:35

Eliza I just ordered one, couldn't help myself Smile

LittlePink · 14/12/2014 10:58

Dh has requested baby doesn't come next week as he has a ridiculous week on at work. He's told me to keep thurs and fri free but won't tell me what for. Interesting.

Anyone feel like youve had a sudden growth spurt? Don't know if it's my imagination but I seem to have grown overnight. Feel much bigger today.

Sorry to lower the mood but Im going to mention that my beloved dad died 8 months ago. Found out I was pregnant about 2 wks after he passed away. Can't help thinking with the timing of it all that this baby is a special gift to the family and that with him being a boy he's going to have some likeness to my dad. Like in looks or a special personality trait. Dd often says things that strongly remind me of how dad would have phrased it like that. Strange time that was, dad going after a long illness and finding out a new baby was coming. Anyway I'm getting all sentimental now I'll get back to the main topic of conversation of the morning- snow suits, £30 in mothercare ouch! And wraps, I'm going to look at the star one but I have to calm down as we just shelled out on an ergo, already having a close sling and a baby bjorn. I'm going carrier mad!!

Elizadoesdolittle · 14/12/2014 11:10

hula. Nice. What colour did you go for?

littlepink Sorry about your dad. I have some idea how you feel as my own dad died a couple of weeks after I find out I was pregnant with DD1. I never got a chance to tell him I was pregnant which is my one regret in life. He would have adored being a grandfather. Like you I see similarities between him and my DD1. I don't really believe in afterlife and all that but I do like to think that somehow they are watching down on us smiling. And re slings I am sooo tempted by an ergo but also already have 2 slings. Will see how it goes.

Dec2013mummy · 14/12/2014 20:10

little and eliza sorry to hear about your dads. It just be really tough.
Had re second family party today. Was great but I am glad it's over. I'm getting really strong bh tonight as well. They are driving me mad!
Sorry so many of you are dealing with insomnia too! It's a really pain hay!
Oh an interesting topic, anyone had or have any cravings? Mine is ice! I'm going through at least 1kg a day and have to chew it. Poor Dh is going insane with it I think!
37 weeks

Nyancat · 14/12/2014 20:35

little, I have a friend who found out she was pregnant shortly after her dad passed away, she'd been trying for a few years at that stage, and we all look on her dd as a gift from her dad as well.

you are all a bad influence, ive just gone and ordered a star fleece wrap, they look so much easier than wrestling a tiny person into a snowsuit, or out of one without waking them up!
Has anyone used the newborn insert for the ergo? I have an ergo from last time but didn't.get it until dd was about 6 months, had used close carrier before, but I found ergo much comfier and not sure whether to get the insert or not.

SK28 · 14/12/2014 20:57

I have a star wrap as it was the highest rated recommendation from one of my mum friends. And looks easier than a snowsuit, although I do have one of those that was handed down from family. Good value too.

I also just bought an ergo. We didn't get the newborn insert as we thought we'd wait to see how big baby is - it can be used without insert from 12lbs so we might manage with just the ring sling for first few weeks or months.

HulaHoopsInTheBath · 14/12/2014 21:57

little so sorry about your dad. Sounds like your little one is indeed a little gift in such a tough time.

I have gone for the raspberry star wrap, not my choice I wanted lavender, but DD insisted its what her little sister wants Hmm will go nice with the pram tho.

Dec I had the ice thing with DD1, someone told me it sometimes has something to do with low iron levels?? But mine were fine that time round. This time round for me its mashed potato and gravy, the thicker the better!

BilboTheAlmighty · 15/12/2014 04:19

Hello everyone! Sorry I've been absent lately! My mum is causing me a lot of problems and her latest tantrum is just too much to bear for an almost 37 week pregnant woman.

I read the thread very quickly. Some great news and some sad stories. I will read it all properly once I'm in a better place Smile In a few days baby could be here and be full term! Xmas Grin

cheshirem2b · 15/12/2014 06:46

goodness, lots of stories to catch up with on the thread this morning. Hope everyone is Ok.

Bilbo don't let anyone get you down!

i sang for my last service at the cathedral before baby arrives yesterday and it was lovely! After the service we went for our choir Christmas dinner and we got given loads of presents for baby and us! We've got a huuuuuuge nappy cake with lovely things in for baby (nappies, blankets, baby socks, a sign for the nursery door, toy girsffe and matching giraffe booties!), L plate mugs for mummy and daddy in training, I got a big box of sanctuary mum to be toiletries and we got a John Lewis gift card as well! They've been amazingly generous! Was feeling a little emotional about it last night but this morning I just realise how lucky I am to have all these people thinking of us and supporting us. Xmas Smile

Got midwife and GD clinic today - hope to be discharged from GD today - fingers crossed! Grin

Terrible night's sleep over here.
But I'm up and going for a walk... Gained too much weight.
This baby needs to get moving and head south!
Freezing cold. Eyes are so heavy but I can do this... Now where are my hat and gloves?!!

Elizadoesdolittle · 15/12/2014 09:13

Midwife was supposed to visit me today after failing to turn up last Tuesday. She's just called and rearranged to tomorrow. At least they called to tell me this time rather than let me wait in all day. I have an appointment at my midwives clinic tomorrow afternoon anyway so will leave that booked in so I definitely get checked. I'll have gone 3 wks without a check now.

cheshire good luck with yours and hope you get signed off from the gd clinic.

Dec2013mummy · 15/12/2014 11:45

cheshire I have a midwife appointment today as well. Fx for you getting signed off.
bilbo I agree with others, don't let then get you down.
pesto a walk sounds lovely. It's very sunny here. I think I would quite enjoy a walk today but unfortunately Ds is sick (again) spent all night changing sheets, dunking him in the bath etc etc, so am loathed to take him out for too long in the cold. His temp keeps spiking as well, was up to 39.9 earlier so not great. Poor thing.
mad enjoy the nativity. I have really missed watching them at work the last 2 years. So cute! Will be out little beans before we know it!
eliza that's not good they have left you so long and that they didn't even tell you last week. I think the service is just so stretched at times.
Looking forward to hearing the heartbeat etc later. Hoping Ds is feeling better this afternoon and sleeps better tonight. I have to get some sleep some time soon! Poor Dh is shattered at work as well I think. At least he breaks up Friday :) 4 more days to go till I have more help! (Can get some sleep) yay. I'm so excited for Xmas too. Dsis is coming home next tues too. I haven't seen her for ages and I think Ds thinks she lives in the phone as we often face time!

BilboTheAlmighty · 15/12/2014 15:23

Ah thanks ladies, you're too sweet Smile I'm better now. I'm used to my mum being this way. Why do you think I left my home country to come to the UK Grin We've made up and she even apologised unreservedly so what more can I ask?

I'm still in denial about having a baby soon though Wink

cheshirem2b · 16/12/2014 00:40

Well ladies I was officially discharged from the GD team today! I still have to test once/twice a day to check there are no major changes but all in all its all good.

saw mw as well which was Ok. baby is engaged so definitely facing the right way!

Back to the day clinic Thursday for scan, monitoring and then hopefully set an induction date! yay!
