Hi Eliza! We have had some births - maybe those ladies are only on the FB group now? A little boy born early at 28 weeks I think, and twin girls delivered by CS (again, I think) last week Smile

I'm getting super agitated that we are not ready yet. I always had Xmas as my deadline for readiness so I can then relax. EDD isn't till 19th Jan so I know there is probably plenty of time but wish DH would appreciate how angsty it makes me that the nursery is still spread out across three rooms and the lounge is a junk room of stuff that needs selling or sorting!

You have the same due date as me SK! If it makes you feel any better my gaff is in a state of chaos too! The baby's room is decorated bit that's about it - there's stuff everywhere ??

I can definitely relate about the nesting and panic! My parents are visiting over Christmas and we are using the room that DS is moving into for them to stay in. Meaning we HAVE to wait until after Christmas to finish organising.

Consoling myself that my due date isn't until the 23rd, so we should have time.

In the meantime...aargh!!!!

Elizadoesdolittle · 12/12/2014 21:15

Thanks for all the welcomes everyone.

madrigals It does sound quite similar. I would love to hire a birthing pool and did think about it. I wanted a pool birth with DD1 and the midwife started running the pool but there was no time to get into it. I have decided to not hire a pool. It's not cheap and I think I will just concentrate on trying to get the girls out of the house and get a professional with me. Running a birthing pool will just be an added complication. I can always get in the bath Grin

I have actually done a fair amount this week with regards to baby prep. All clothes washed and put away, moses basket in place with new mattress, car seat cleaned, slings washed and ready, swing cover washed, isofix base ready to go, bassinet for pushchair sorted. The only thing I don't have is a double buggy but my best friend is kindly lending me hers which she will bring when she comes to visit once baby is here.

But as for the state of the house. Well the baby will move into DD2's room once it has been in our room for 6 months but the room she is moving into currently has no plaster board, no carpet and no door. I really wanted it sorted soon as although it won't be used for a while I didn't want it in quite a state. The spare room which I was planning on using as a day room for the baby is an absolute state. Half decorated and boxes everywhere. We moved in here a month before I found out i was pregnant and there is a lot to do. Having a huge extension done next year which will be fun with a small baby. Ah well.

Just seen there is a stats list. Will add myself to there and familiarise myself with you all.

LittlePink · 12/12/2014 22:16

eliza I didn't even know there was a stats list until you said so popped on there to see what it was and see you're 5 mins down the road from me in Sidcup. I'm in new eltham. Small world!

Tried to add myself on there but couldn't seem to do it on my phone. Will have another go later on laptop.

Full term this weekend. Can't believe it. Don't want baby to come over Xmas but don't want another 3-4 weeks of this either. It gets my hopes up when people tell me I'll go early. No one but baby knows when!

Elizadoesdolittle · 12/12/2014 22:39

littlepink How funny, small world indeed. I know what you mean about the xmas thing. I was really hoping I'd go overdue at first but part of me is ready for this baby now. I have given it strict instructions to come between either the 20th-22nd or it has to wait till after 29th. Let's see if it's obliging (not a hope if it's siblings are anything to go by).

Dec2013mummy · 13/12/2014 06:12

Morning all. I think I have so far got about 4 hours sleep tonight, between waking for needing the loo and Ds waking up. I think he may be getting cold in the night, but he has a long sleeve vest, sleep suit and sleeping bag on. I could never give him a blanket as he is such a fidget. I don't think it helps he gets himself into the most uncomfortable positions! Any wise ideas?
little and eliza I know what you mean. I have told baby not to come between 19th and 2nd but I am so fed up of being pregnant now, doesn't help that for 18 of the last 22 months I have been pregnant! Definitely won't be getting pregnant again too soon! (She says).
Off to a Christmas fair today, then hopefully will come back with lots of Christmas spirit, ready to put the decs up. Then tomorrow we are hosting the second of our family parties. Think I may need a sleep after all that! Oh I forgot... Sleep is nigh on impossible right now! Grin

LittlePink · 13/12/2014 07:28

Oh dec that's made me think about all the sleep problems I had with dd and how I used to wrack my brains with frustration why can't she just sleep thru??!! Our issues were more the early wakings but once I got her naps sorted properly she started sleeping well. What does he do for naps now? The other thing if you think he's cold is getting a gro sleep suit. It has nice padded arms and goes perfectly with the gro bag. We have a gro blind on her window which I'm too lazy to take down in the day so her room is the warmest in the house as it traps all the heat in around the windows and I keep her door closed all day.

Off for coffee with a few of my nct friends this morning toddler free. Desperate for a break. This weeks been pretty full on!

Xmas decs and carol service tomorrow.

Hi all, hope everyone's well.
Celebrating finally being on maty leave! Ended up back in maternity triage again with reduced fetal movements on Thursday. CTG and scan were normal, baby was just bein a bit lethargic. Luckily movements picked up loads yesterday and have continued today so it looks like it was just a false alarm.
Now I'm going to get down to proper nesting. And maybe actually pack my hospital bag, finally...

Hello good old January thread, long time no see! Just thought I'd pop in to update you, seen as I was on your bus for a little while...We lost our baby G in July and had an incredibly difficult time thereafter. We were given the green light to ttc again 3 months later and I found out this week that I am pregnant again with our rainbow baby, due August 20th! So please keep your fingers and toes crossed for us that this will be our take-home baby and that all will be well.
Much love to everyone whose name I recognise and especially to those of you who were so supportive and kind to me during the hard times.
I cannot wait to hear about all the lovely January babies starting to make an appearance! All the best Grin

congratulations mad, absolutely wonderful news!

Dec2013mummy · 13/12/2014 20:11

Oh mad congratulations. I am so happy for you, I am almost crying! May be the hormones too Grin
little I will invest in a growsuit i think. I will have a look. Unfortunately Ds had very severe reflux, hence the only being able to be upright. This is now under control through meds etc. He also has many allergies, which causes him to have a blocked nose most of the time, again this is under control with his diet etc although we have some relapses if we try new things. He has had a chronic cough for a long time and often is out of breath and now this week has been diagnosed with asthma and so how has an inhaler! Try giving him that 4 times a day Grin. Now he all of this is relatively controlled he is such a happy and content little boy that I really can't complain about the night time wakings. Even when something causes him to be constantly sick, he just laughs it off. Such a cutie! Sorry for the long post! Ha Smile very self indulgent!

looking4rainbow · 13/12/2014 22:41

This insomnia is driving me crazy. I've had 2 hours sleep, was exhausted when I came to bed and now I just can't get back to sleep! Anyone else the same?
