Sorry to hear so many of you are having trouble with work. It's so frustrating that they aren't supportive. My head said in the staffroom in front of everyone on my last day 'she has assured me she won't be having anymore!' They had already said to me in private that they had been supportive this time but if there was a next time don't expect the same! I have only had a couple of emails so far though so that's good.
On another note, since when did mundane task become so hard. It has just taken me and hour and a half to get Ds and myself ready to leave the house (after a fight with Ds over his shoes) then popped to the post office and tesco, which are in the same shop and get home again. I am now utterly exhausted. Ds on the other hand is shouting at the too of his voice and running all over the place. I have ha really strong period pains as well for the last few days and ache so much down there! Don't know if baby has moved or what but it's driving me crazy. I even resorted to some paracetamol last night, which I never do. I'm feeling close to needing more again now. I'm sure there are others feeling the same. I can't wait till Dh breaks up next Friday. I think I'm more if a countdown than I would normally be at work!

Sorry for all of the errors. Ds is clambering all over me for my phone so I didn't check it. My grammar isn't that bad, honestly!

CallingAllEngels · 10/12/2014 18:30

Shock dec that your HT would say that in public or in private! Very unprofessional!

Glad mw went well mads

Baby still head down but not engaged at all so under orders to lay down if waters break and call them immeduately. Apparently there is a LOT of amnitoic fluid so baby is swimming around quite a bit. Next appt in a week.

That's outrageous, Dec! Of course you do know she doesn't actually have to be supportive: the law is supportive so if you change your mind she can lump it. Angry

cheshirem2b · 10/12/2014 19:52

calling yay for head down but don't worry about not being engaged yet. I'm back in tomorrow for monitoring because they picked up extra fluid last week - but we will see if it has settled down again tomorrow.

Dec your HT is out of order! I'd be so angry if my boss said that about me!

Dec2013mummy · 10/12/2014 21:56

Trust me ladies, that was nothing on the first time round and I was overlooked promotion as I has been on maternity so I just take it with a pinch of salt now. Last time I was so utterly depressed and very ill, now I just think I will get where I want and I don't need them to help me!
mad I'm glad you have got things sorted, very exciting! calling yay for head down. My baby isn't engaged either, apparently in second pregnancies they don't sometimes until labor.
cheshire I hope it all goes well tomorrow.

SK28 · 11/12/2014 00:07

Sally I wanted a sling for round the house as a bit less bulky. And a carrier for more out and about wear and in case the sling on one side causes backache.

Gosh, some bad work situations happening... I'm setting my OOO when I finish on 22nd and won't be checking it. I'll turn on my work phone once a week perhaps but only to check for anything from my line manager, nothing else. That's the plan anyway - I can't deal with the colleague who is covering me stressing me out for the next year (she's already causing me major stress so I can't wait to finish and be rid of it).

I'm getting so excited now, although has anyone else's hormones gone through the roof. It seems to be in the evenings, poor Dh. I was having panic attacks and all sorts last night! It's driving me mad so lord knows what it's doing to him, poor guy!
Have a new swing coming today. I had one with Ds, but he had a really nasty skin infection due to allergies (didn't know about them at the time) so it was ruined. I did try to wash the cover but just don't feel comfortable knowing how bad it was. It's like Christmas has come early every time I get a new package for baby. Have asked Dh for a sling for Christmas. I have a carrier from Ds but inly used it twice as he was so poorly, but after all this along talk and thinking about how I'm going to have enough hands with Ds as well, thought i would get a sling as well. Anything to make life easier!

cheshirem2b · 11/12/2014 11:18

Dec I find myself getting to the evening around when DH finishes work and having a little meltdown/cry on him for no real reason other than I've had enough. So I can empathise with you on the hormones front!
The only baby item still to arrive here is the nursery wardrobe which is bring delivered next Tuesday morning, then we are all done! Woohoo!

LittlePink · 11/12/2014 11:22

Ive been waiting in for 2 days for my ergo to come but it didn't arrive yesterday so I ducked out to the mw this morning for an hour and it still hasn't arrived. Baby is still head down but free now after being 2/5th engaged last week but she said that's normal in 2nd babies that he will bob in and out every day. Tomorrow he will probably be engaged again.

Dec2013mummy · 11/12/2014 11:35

cheshire I'm so glad I'm not the only one, but not so glad you're feeling fed up too. It's like I have switched this week. Was doing so well up until now! The thought that there could be 5 more weeks of I go over isn't helping. Oh and the fear of baby coming Xmas day. I'm such a private person, last time we told no one that I had give into labor and in now having panic attacks that people have to know this time because of Ds. Silly I know! It's an irrational thing to get worked to about, but I've figured over these 2 pregnancies that being rational is not always a possibility when pregnant!
little I am glad that your appointment went well. So annoying about the ergo though. My delivery is due today between 1.23 and 3.23 to be precise, but Ds has a doc appointment at 3.10 so I'm really hoping it comes before 3! Fingers crossed we both get our parcels today!

Same here re: hormones. The last two evenings I've been really irritable - poor DH really hasn't deserved my grumpiness. Up till this week it's been tearfulness though so at least it's a change...

PGP and extreme tiredness are really the only two symptoms I've had all pregnancy so I count myself lucky and try not to moan, but my god this week the exhaustion has hit new levels. Every day at 10 am I'm almost asleep at my desk and then again at 3.30 - and I'm not exactly energetic in between! 3 more office days, 3 more work at home days, 1.5 token work at home days in Xmas week - counting down!

Just heard today my pram is being delivered on Friday 19th. It's 2 weeks later than estimated but at least we have a date for it. I don't think I'm waiting for any other deliveries. We need to get a futon out of the nursery though so we can get the wall stickers up and the furniture, clothes and accessories in. I'm so anxious to get it done now but we are soooo busy - we only have evenings but are so tired after work it's hard to muster the energy!

I'm trying to put off the smaller nesting impulses till I finish work. Things like washing the nappies and stuff. I want to do them now but it's really not the best use of limited time and energy!

I wondered why Dh's social life has suddenly ramped up. Seems like every man and his dog wants to see him at the moment. Perhaps it's my hormones that's driving him out in the evenings! I know it's Xmas party time but the amount he's out at the moment isn't even funny. I asked him please can u just calm down on the nights out, I need you to help me in the evenings with Dd so he said ok then before I know it, it's oh I'm out weds and thurs this week. I shouldn't moan, I'm just jealous coz I can't go!

I'm obsessing over this sweep now too. Consultant said I can have them from 39 wks but from my reading that's just interfering with the natural process. Mw said she'd do a home visit as they haven't got any clinics between Xmas and new year and she'll do it at home for me. I had a couple of sweeps with dd and it's not the most pleasant couple of minutes of your life but you get thru it. I guess if my body's not ready it just won't work. Any thoughts on sweeps? To have or not to have? I had a section with dd and trying Vbac this time so think cons wants to give me every chance of having one rather than resorting to elcs.

cheshirem2b · 11/12/2014 22:08

Went to the day assessment unit this afternoon...

Anyway, fluid had increased slightly when they did the quick scan but they think it's linked to GD as no abnormalities present on any scans and not significant increase. Dr Google tells me it can be due to abnormalities and blockages in the baby's throat but that's usually picked up on scans and nothing has come up so hopefully it's just due to GD. Anyway, Last week fluid was 9.1cm and today is 10.2cm so it's up but jog massively.

Then we went on the heart monitors and everything was fine on that too. Lots of movements and a good heart rate so no concerns.

I'm back for another monitoring session next Thursday and then we get an induction date as well! Likely to be around 39w due to the fluid so either just before or just after Christmas (pleeeeeeease be before Christmas)! If the fluid drops to under 9cm again then they'll wait and induce at 40w.
So still waiting for a date but almost there!

I'm off to bed now after a shocking night last night! Sleep well ladies!

Cherrypi · 12/12/2014 08:22

I'm avoiding sweeps this time. They did nothing for me and I found them really unpleasant.

Well as I'm 37 weeks today I thought it was about time that I joined you all and said hello.

Brief intro: I am 40 (yikes!) and due DC3 on 2nd Jan. I have 2 DD's. DD1 is 4 (5 middle of Jan) and DD2 has just turned 2. Have a knack of having winter babies! Praying this one doesn't come on xmas day.

Pregnancy all good so far. Had a low lying plcenta initially but that had moved by the 32 wk scan. Baby was then breech but midwife now thinks it's turned. Fingers crossed it has as I am planning a homebirth due to previous speedy labours. Got to hospital in time for DD1 but DH didn't make it. Didn't make it out the house for DD2 and DH delivered her. Hoping for a smoother ride this time round! Don't know the sex but it's bound to be a girl. Really struggling for girls names this time.

Anyway that's enough from me for now. Looking forward to getting to know you all over the next coming weeks.

Had a quick skim through thread but will try and have a proper read tonight.

Have there been any births yet?

LittlePink · 12/12/2014 13:50

Hi eliza welcome. Wow dh delivered the baby! bet that makes a good story for around the dinner table lol!

I'm becoming really despondent about sleep. I want to have some decent sleep before ds comes along in a few weeks. I was lying awake for ages in the night then before I knew it, it was 6.30 and dd was calling to get her up. Dh has got one more week at work then off for a week over Xmas. Going to force myself to forget about the washing and the state of the house and have a nap every day. I did manage to dust yesterday though woo go me!

Dec2013mummy · 12/12/2014 14:57

Welcome eliza. Wow, what amazing labours, beats my 27 hr one (that's the bit I know about). I am hoping for a much quicker one this time around, but not that quick!
little I have forgotten what decent sleep is. Ds doesn't sleep through yet, although I can't complain. It is is bliss now in comparison to the first 4 months (he could only sleep upright due to various allergies/illness). I know what you mean about forcing yourself to sleep in the day. I have finally admitted defeat this week and now sit down for some of Ds' naps and only do the day to day jobs. I do feel quite organised though, which is pretty impressive for me! Ds only had a short nap earlier, literally woke up as my bum hit the sofa! I could have actually cried. Ah well. It's preparing me for having 2 of them! I'm getting so impatient now, rang Dh at lunch an he went into panic mode as he thought I was in labor as I never ring him at work! Was quite funny.
Oh and eliza no babies yet. Now people are hitting 37 weeks I am allowed to say hurry up babies, right?

cheshirem2b · 12/12/2014 17:07

Welcome Eliza! Your previous labours sound amazing! Not sure my DH would cope delivering a baby!

I've spent today with DH putting up the Christmas decorations! It's been a lovely day! I've got yo go and get ready for my works Christmas meal in a bit... I generally can't be bothered and dont really want to go but I will go and I'm driving myself so can leave when I've had enough.

I'm going (hopefully) to see my friend and her twin babies tomorrow - they will be 16days old! Cuuuuuuuute!
