There's a reason I'm not telling dh how much the ergo 360 costs sk !

LittlePink · 08/12/2014 14:34

rum that was my lightbulb moment a couple of weeks ago to get the spare duvet and put it under me to make it more comfy on my hips. Not had a problem with my hips since, it's just my ribs now which I can't do much about until baby drops.

I bought the ergo original yesterday. I have a close sling from dd but I found that once she got to 5 mths it really hurt my shoulders as she got heavy. It's great for newborn though, they are all snug and cozy on your chest while you walk around and get stuff done. It's good aswell for forward facing but as I say when I took her out and walked for a bit she really pulled down on my shoulders and really wasn't doing my back any favours either.

I've heard the ergo is great for the back and shoulder support. The in laws are paying for that. I told them it was £90 thinking it was which they said yep get it, we'll give you the money. Then saw it was £104.90. Oops! Oh well we can pay the

LittlePink · 08/12/2014 14:37

Difference if it's a problem but I'm sure it won't be.

Dh likes the idea that it goes up to 4. We've had problems recently out walking where dd wants to walk but gets tired and wants carrying. Taking the buggy is hard on rough terrain when we're walking in the woods or country parks so I think it would be great for her to be on Dh's back up high when she's tired. Mao she'll share the ergo with the baby for the time being.

LittlePink · 08/12/2014 14:39

Mao? I don't even know what word I was trying to use then. Think it was supposed to be a "so"!!! Stupid phone!

SK28 · 08/12/2014 14:45

LittlePink How you've described using the sling and Ergo is exactly what I'm anticipating too so that's great to hear!

cheshirem2b · 09/12/2014 09:27

After a busy day shopping with my Dad yesterday I'm having a lazy day today! Got to do some food shopping but that's it... Oh and clean the house because the HV is coming to do a home visit tomorrow! Argh!

KateTheHuman · 09/12/2014 11:23

I'm so freaking out about everything and annoying myself. I just can't wait to finish work. 3 more days! I don't think I can relax until I'm at home. I think I need to live on the toilet. I'm so worried my waters will leak and I won't have noticed. Just think I'm constantly wetting myself. I wish my scan was this friday instead of next friday.

Yay I've been allowed a home birth by the consultant. Slings are great. So much easier than pushchairs once you've got the knack. I'm completely spatially challenged and can now wrap the material ones with ease so don't let that put you off.

Pesto11 · 09/12/2014 12:54

kate
You sound like me!!!
I'm paranoid about waters breaking!
And generally starting to freak out about everything!
And I'm already on maternity leave!
Oh dear...
I'm just so bored as well. Absolutely fed up of tidying. Brain is turning into mush. And the short days just make me want to sleep as soon as it gets dark.

You're all making me consider slings... Something id never thought of cz I've already got a bad back...

cheshirem2b · 09/12/2014 13:29

Tmi but I wondered the other day if my waters had gone but it's just increased discharge... nice!

I've agreed to help DH with his old peoples singing group in their Christmas concert tonight but I generally cannot be bothered! I'm feeling really lethargic and a bit sick today so could do without it but never mind.

I need motivation to get off the sofa and do some tidying... Any ideas?!

Pesto11 · 09/12/2014 13:40

Promise yourself some cake after an hour of tidying!
That's what I'm telling myself cz I haven't tidied the stuff that I promised I would before dh came back from work.

Cheshire ive had an increase in discharge too. Lovely topic of conversation ahem! Anyway, I wondered if its bits of plug coming away.

My body is playing tricks on me. Every now and then I get periods pains for about 20 seconds or so and I think ooh I wonder if somethings starting then it stops and doesn't start again. Its too early at 36 weeks anyway but your mind starts running wild regardless. Only because im so impatient and cant wait for anything!

Pesto slings are the way forward. Not all babies like them but DD did luckily and used to be asleep within seconds of me putting her in it. So handy as you can just go about your business without getting stuck in one position on the sofa for ages while they nap on you.

Cherrypi · 09/12/2014 18:58

I was paranoid about my waters leaking with my first one. When they eventually did go I couldn't of missed it.

KateTheHuman · 10/12/2014 09:26

So after having a day of freaking out and a night of worrying about movements, woke up to bub having a party and thankfully they're still moving. Feeling freakily calm now. Only two more get ups! Woo hoo!

I haven't even thought about a sling yet! I feel so unorganised!

Loving the maternity leave countdown ladies!

Up until about 2am trying to get comfy / relieve heartburn....finally tired myself out. However day 3 of ML means that I could almost just accept it knowing I can catch up in the day rather than panic about working on minimal sleep.

What are the benefits of having a sling instead of a carrier? We bought a carrier as I thought it'd be useful living in London for getting about etc...

CallingAllEngels · 10/12/2014 10:54

Have just had an email from a new colleague (NQT) asking if I have any resources for a certain class. I haven't taught this class/curriculum for 3 years! Which means whoever HAS been teaching these classes for the last few years has been an arse and not passed on resources (which I provided lots of when I moved into another area of the school). Same thing happened 2 weeks before I left with another class (also 3 years since I taught that curriculum). Have just sent her a load of resources, not her fault the department is a shambles.

Not sure what the rest of my colleagues are playing at. Busted my arse to prepare resources and hand over to 3 different fecking (lovely!) teachers, and now 10 days into ML getting requests from people who are not even covering my classes! As I thought, they can't cope without me!

cheshirem2b · 10/12/2014 11:25

calling I feel your pain... I keep getting emails from work about cases I was dealing with that have been handed in to other solicitors to deal with! Grr!

Our HV has been to the house this morning. She was lovely! I'm so pleased as I was worried she would rather be a pain or hate our 2 cats but she was great! She has 4 house bunnies so 2 cats didn't phase her at all! Grin

Off to visit a friend and her 8wk old later which will be lovely.

The weather kept me up last night... Horrible wind and rain! Baby didn't help though and had lots of strong BH last night as well. I had aches as usual in pelvis region but BH weren't painful at all - just uncomfortable and very tight bump! Come on baby, you're 37w tomorrow so technically cooked, let's be having you!

HenriettaTurkey · 10/12/2014 12:15

Top tip: switch off your work email!

...you'll thank me for it. Smile

CallingAllEngels · 10/12/2014 12:16

It's so annoying, especially since I told my school I was pg at 8 weeks to make sure they had a good time to find cover (I teach 2 subjects and was due to have an exam class). They still gave me an exam class (which has been taken over by an experienced colleague so her classes have had to be shuffled around) and then for one of my classes they changed the person taking over 10 days before I left and didn't tell me!

It's not like it's a surprise that we're pregnant is it? They've had plenty of f-ing notice!!!!!

Glad hv went well chesh

Having a very lazy day today. MW at 4.

37+3!

CallingAllEngels · 10/12/2014 12:18

I did put my out of office on henrietta but atm I can't resist checking it. Don't tend to check on days DS is home. I need to delete it from my favourites don't I?!

I also normally organise the Christmas show and am getting emails about that as well...

cheshirem2b · 10/12/2014 13:05

I've deleted my work email from my iPad but they are contacting me via text or my personal email account. Very annoying! Never mind.

CallingAllEngels · 10/12/2014 13:14

Wow...that's persistent chesh !

Twiddling my thumbs and waiting for mw appt...mayeb I should have a nap?

HenriettaTurkey · 10/12/2014 13:43

Cheshire - that's just rude!
